L'Ancienne Brasserie ('Old Brewery') is a tall, solid building on the northern edge of Uzès, a handsome and lively town in the provençal style, close to the more famous towns of Avignon, Arles and Nîmes.. Within walking distance of the centre of Uzès (less than half a kilometre), it is well-placed to enjoy everything this town has to offer, including the famous Saturday market at the Place aux Herbes, renowned not only for the local produce, but also for the beautiful cloths produced in the area.
Uzès is about 40km north-west of Avignon, famed for its festival, and indeed has its own music and opera programme, as also does nearby Orange, staged in its magnificent Roman theatre. To the north-west, some 40km, lie the fine Cévennes hills, providing unlimited walks.
