Luxury four bedroom, house in one of the most beautiful villages on the Jurassic Coast on the Isle of Purbeck. Worth Matravers is renowned for its fabulous walks and spectacular scenery whilst also being close to lovely beaches and the buzzing seaside town of Swanage. There is a lively, historic pub in the village with live music throughout the year and a very lovely Victorian Tea Shop serving food on some evenings. The house itself has been tastefully decorated and is very comfortably furnished. It has an Aga and a Hot Tub to relax in after a long day on the beach.

About Nicki Unsworth

We moved to Dorset in 2007 from Berkshire and fell in love with Worth Matravers. A long way from the bustle of the Thames Valley. We have renovated the house with care and love. It is extremely comfortable and easy to live in. Large South facing windows with an aspect over the surrounding countryside, down the valley to the sea. We live in the house for a good part of the year and so it has absolutely everything that you could need during your visit. We have a dog ourselves who loves the local walking and so we are only too happy that you bring yours too! We really love the house, the views, the village, the walks and the local food - and we are sure you will too!

Why Nicki Unsworth chose Purbeck

We immediately saw the potential with this house and felt that we could make it exactly as we wanted it to be. It was extremely dilapidated when we took on the challenge but we are really pleased that we did. The views from every window are amazing. Fantastic sunsets over the hills to the West and lovely views to the channel down the valley. It is the perfect getaway for couples or families (or one really large family!)

Worth Matravers is one of the most beautiful villages in England, within easy reach of London, but feels a million lies away. It is quiet, beautiful, there are wonderful walks and lovely old country pubs to relax in.

What makes this house unique

We want this cottage to be a home away from home. We have decorated it simply and stylishly. It has a state of the art kitchen for foodies like us, a warm and cosy living room, with wood burning stove and windows with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside to the sea. For those who still want to be connected with the rest of the world, there is subscription Sky television (sport and Films) and internet and iPod dock.

The four bedrooms are bright and airy, with brand new beds and simple crisp white bedlinen with snug duvets and down pillows. There are three bathrooms (2 en-suite) and a separate WC downstairs.

The cottage is located on the edge of Worth Matravers village. The coastal path can be accessed directly from a footpath outside the cottage - no need to ever see a road.

Notes:
This is a lovely sunny house with all the large windows facing down the valley to the sea. The house is located on the edge of Worth Matravers village and the coastal path can be accessed directly from the track outside the house. The house is decorated in soft seaside colours and is very comfortable and warm. The three upstairs bedrooms have a balcony with a sea view. The Master Bedroom is downstairs and has a patio door leading on to the garden. The living room has two very large comfortable sofas and lots of comfy armchairs. The terrace is accessed from the living room and has a very large Hot Tub (seats 5). There is also a dining area on the terrace.

fantastic house and lovely stay

Recent stayed with friends (4 adults & 3 kids, all 7-9). We all had a lovely time and would definately go again. The hot tub was a hit with adults and kids alike. The layout of the house is good, its clean, great decor etc and the garden lovely to relax in (the two families didn't feel under each other feet). The area itself is fantastic with lots to do for everyone; great walking, beaches, tank museum, steam trains, castles, pubs, what's not to love.

The only very, very minor issues which might bother some is that a large double room is downstairs, off dining/kitchen area (possible noise issues in evening) but this worked to our advanatge, as all kids slept in their together and adults got a lay in, in the morning! Also, if you are a tech heavy family, which both of ours are, the WiFi was not great.

Overall absolute excellent stay and would highly recommend and owners who we briefly met, were lovely as well.

The best Christmas ever

We came to Seascapes to spend a family Christmas. This is a lovely house for a family holiday and just as it is described. The kitchen is very well equipped with just about everything you might need. There was also a good supply of cutlery, crockery and glasses. The bedding was quite luxurious and we loved the fluffy white towels. The icing on the cake was the hot tub!

The owner was extremely helpful and left good instructions for all the appliances. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to spend time in this beautiful part of the country.

Great holiday home in scenic, peaceful location

An excellent location for a quiet family holiday, well located for day trips and great walks along the coastal path. The house is very bright and airy, well maintained and very comfortable. The sunny, terraced garden is a great place to sit and relax. The owners were outstanding and gave us lots of information on the property and the area before we arrived, and were generally very responsive. A fantastic holiday, we hope to be back before too long.

Great house, great location

3 generations had a great time at Seascape over the half term holidays.

The house is tastefully decorated and well stocked with all the essentials you need for a family holiday (washing machine etc).

The owner is easily contactable and was quick to respond to my last minute queries prior to our arrival!

My parents enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying the views and watching my boys play happily.

We enjoyed trips to Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, the Tank Museum and a ride on the steam engine at Swanage.

All in all, a great time was had by all, and we have recommended it to friends.

Highly recommend this lovely property!

“My family and myself stayed at Seascape in September as our daughter was getting married at Durlston Castle. Apart from occupying a lovely position at Worth Matravers, we fell in love with the house! With 3 good sized double bedrooms, one good size single and all the beds are very comfortable. The added bonus was having a balcony to 3 of the bedrooms, so that you could lookout down to the sea.

Two of the bathrooms are en suite and there's also a good size family bathroom. It certainly made our stay a very memorable one, as the house has such a homely, welcoming feel, and the owners Nicki and Tony could not of been more welcoming in letting us have their lovely home for a few days. The hot tub came as an added bonus! We couldn’t have wished for a better location and would highly recommend this property!

The Groom's party stayed at their other house which is Hill Cottage, a short distance from Seascape, and we all thought it was so lovely, that we're going back to stay there in July 2016!”

The ideal holiday home

This is the perfect holiday home, for all, who would like to spend their holidays in a unique atmosphere. The location from this house is ideal for walking, climbing, reach beaches and see Sights. Everything is perfect. In the near of house you have a great tea house and pub. All the points like Swanage you can reach in few minutes. You can eat the best fish and chips there.

After your great walk you can relax in the whirlpool.

10 mins walk to the sea at Winspit Cove.

The house is approximately 400m from the village centre and the famous Square and Compass pub.

Langton Matravers, approximately two miles away has a Post Office and convenience shop.

Nearest petrol station is at Harman's Cross, around two miles distant, also with a convenience store.

Further Details:

The house is situated on a south facing slope above the sea, on the edge of the lovely village of Worth Matravers on the Isle of Purbeck. The village is postcard pretty, a cluster of Purbeck stone cottages built around the village green and duck-pond.

There is an old-fashioned tea shop which serves traditional cream teas, lunch and supper and a nationally renowned pub, The Square and Compass, with outstanding views over the coast. There is also an ice-cream shop in the village selling Purbeck ice-cream which is made just a couple of miles away! There is a small children's play area in the village.

Kingston is 2 miles away where there is an excellent pub, The Scott Arms, serving great pub food, and with a garden with spectacular views of Corfe Castle.

The cottage is 4 miles from the Corfe Castle and 5 miles from the seaside town of Swanage, which has a delightful beach. The lovely market town of Wareham, situated on the west shore of Poole harbour is 8 miles away. Arne bird sanctuary, on the beautiful marshlands that look towards Sandbanks, is a short drive away.

The cottage is situated at the heart of a number of footpaths and bridleways which criss cross the National Trust land which surrounds the village, you need never walk on a road. In fact, if you walk down the track from the cottage to Winspit Cove, you can keep walking for about 600 miles on the Coastal Path, just keep the sea to your left!
