Overview

About the property

5 BR plus loft, 3 BA, price is 4-8 occupants, sleeps 13 (max)

Peaceful and quiet in a rural country setting, our 1833 log home has been restored and integrated with a new 2001 log home. The 4500 square foot, 5 bedroom 3 bath cabin is situated on 55 acres of rolling hill farm country, conveniently located about 30 miles from Mount Vernon, Coshocton, Newark or Zanesville (65 mi NE of Columbus).

Relax in the hot tub on the back porch and watch the wild life, or sit before a cozy crackling fire in the large family room fireplace. The cabin is a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the ultimate place to unplug from the world.

Rustic charm and country elegance all in one place. Great for family reunions, weddings, receptions, romantic getaways, women or men's retreats or just gathering with friends. The house offers a fully equipped, gorgeous country kitchen a wonderful place to cook while enjoying time with the family. The cabin is very spacious, plenty of room for up to 15 people. Satellite TV and satellite wireless Internet. 2 1/2 miles off state highway, 1 mile of gravel road.

Property is available for deer during hunting season and is near Woodbury Nature Preserve (public hunting) which is only 20 minutes away.

The Surrounding Area: Set in the heart of Ohio farm country, the cabin sits on it's own 55 acre farm. The area is rural, and scenery consists of rolling hills, woods, farms and farm land. We are about as far away from the hectic life as you can get in Ohio. There are miles of gravel roads in the area with low traffic, suitable for biking, walking or even horseback riding.

You are probably wondering what is there to do in this area? There are many activities from zip lines to wineries. We will be happy to put together a list of what to do, just let us know what you're interested in.

The owners, Frank and Lisa Stahl, live within 1.5 miles of the cabin and encourage guests to enjoy the farm sights at both locations. Our amount of interaction with you is controlled by you. You can have the peace and quiet at the cabin or spend time on the farm with us - it's up to you. We primarily keep the stock at our farm, and are doing hay at the Weston House. If you like animals, we'd be really happy to share some of our farming practices and let you visit with the animals. Spring time is the best time to see young animals especially the lambs!! We are an authentic farming operation raising registered, grass fed shorthorn cattle and Katahdin Sheep. We also have horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. Typically we have around 25 cows and calves, and between 40 and 100 sheep.

About Frank and Lisa Stahl (Managers)

Our goal is to have a nice place for people to leave all the city hustle and bustle behind them, and enjoy the simpler life in the country. Frank and Lisa operate a working farm within walking distance of the cabin.

Frank and Lisa Stahl (Managers) purchased this farmhouse in 2005

Why Frank and Lisa Stahl (Managers) chose Ohio

We fell in love with the kitchen in this house when we saw it come up for sale. We wanted to provide a beautiful and relaxing property for people to unplug from their busy lives.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The house sits on 55 acres of farm and pasture ground, which is ideal for nature walks and watching livestock and wildlife. The old cabin of the house adds charm and history to the new, elegant log home. It's a great get away for groups of people who may be family or just friends. Built as a family home, it is a wonderful place to spend a holiday, or even a short weekend and just relax in the simpler way of country living.

Exceeded My Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful home. Clean, modern, comfortable. The area was really "away from it all" and just the getaway my family needed. Soaking in the hot tub on the deck, watching the family roast marshmallows over the fire in the peaceful night was amazing. The kitchen afforded me everything I needed to cook amazing feasts. Our host stopped by with anything we asked for or needed so promptly. Better than my vacation to Las Vegas!

Owner's Response: We live near the rental home, and are only a phone call away. We manage the property ourselves, so want you to have everything you need when you need it. Additionally, we encourage people to stop by our farm where most of the livestock are, but mostly just want people to enjoy the countryside we love so much!

Loved the log cabin and the roominess it provided. Enjoyed fishing in the ponds & playing baseball in the huge back yard. Nature at it's finest! The managers, Lisa & Frank were very welcoming. Thank you!

Real Country Living!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

When the weather is perfect, the friends and family are actually arriving on time, and the Cabin is what it appears to be, it all comes together perfectly!!! And that's what it was exactly!

The house has everything you could need for a weekend or even a week. All you have to bring is yourself and food!

Everyday was home cooked meals, bonfires, and swapping stories without the distractions of our modern electronics. But if you really need to, the new 55in. LED tv helps those who are weak at heart! haha

Lisa was very helpful every step of the way and made sure to respond to any questions within 2-4 hours.

We will for sure be recommending this place to others that are looking for a Country Get-away!

The Weston House is a beautiful and roomy. The pictures do not do it justice.

  • 5 of 5

Seven of us came out from Vermont for the late season muzzle load hunt. The cabin, property and owners, are awesome. We saw lots of wildlife on the property going to and from public hunting grounds. The cabin had plenty of space and all the amenities anyone would need for a get-away. Lisa and Frank met us at the cabin when we arrived and were very helpful getting us acclimated with the house and the area. Very short drive (5 min) to the Bladensburg Village.

I speak for myself and the others in our group, we highly recommend this property for those looking for vacation rentals in this area.

Thank you Lisa and Frank
