You are within a short 12 minute, leisurely walk through the fascinating royal fish lagoons and lava tubes in the historic preserve leading to the FABULOUS private beaches and your beach club, the Mauna Lani Beach Club. There you can enjoy lunch, snacks and drinks while lying in the provided, chaise lounge beach chairs. Or just enjoy the fabulous snorkeling, white sand beach, and calm waves. And you can enjoy watching the whales in season, or the large sea turtles coming ashore to bask in the same sun you are enjoying.

A short walk in another direction from your doorstep, brings you to the world class resort hotel with its shops and restaurants. Or a short walk in a different direction takes you to the brand new shopping complex containing the Tommy Bahamas store and restaurant, Ruth Chris Steak House and a wide variety of other boutiques, galleries, ice-cream shop and even Starbucks. And this island is the home of Kona coffee!

And in addition to LOCATION, the Palm Villas offer elegant, luxurious comforts you want and will appreciate while being on vacation. There is nothing basic about our villas.

We have open spacious living areas, gourmet kitchens with designer cabinets, granite countertops throughout, and stainless steel appliances. On the lanai there is a built-in, top of the line, outdoor double wide gas grill, hood with fan and lights and a bar sink. All of this speaks of the comfort, pleasure and rest you will have in these units. You will walk in the door and say WOW, with a smile on your face, knowing the next several days will be spent there.

3RD QUESTION. Why should we stay in this particular unit in Building H at the Palm Villas vs. other Palm Villa units? What is unique about it?

FIRST- This ground floor home is very spacious for four adults to do a stay of any length. Each bedroom has its own bath and the master bath is spacious.

SECOND- As the owner, I am biased, but we specifically chose this location because we believe the H building location is the BEST in the complex. Here is why. It is in the very rear of the complex, away from any possible pool noise, and nestled against the Golf course. And since it is at the very end of the driveway, it gets no road noise. It is secluded, very safe and very quiet.

THIRD- After it was finished, we went way beyond the ordinary to have this place professionally decorated and custom painted with the highest quality furniture, furnishings and art from Tommy Bahamas and others so that you will feel pampered and know that you are not in “just a rental”. You will experience the difference from the moment you walk through the door to when you slip in the amazingly comfortable beds at night. You see, this is where we vacation, and that is how we want to feel when we are in Hawaii.

FOURTH- This is a downstairs unit that faces the historic preservation area, the royal fish ponds and the ocean. Therefore at night, the cool breeze comes through open screen doors and windows of the master suite and living room, and you can hear the soft crash of the waves on the beach.

You can eat dinner outside at night on the lanai and face amazing sunsets or watch seasonal fireworks from both resort hotels over the ocean. Or just sit in the comfortable chairs on the lanai with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine looking over the incredible view. It is Hawaii … and you are on vacation. It does not get any better than this.

FINALLY- From the early construction days to even now weekly, we have prayed and asked our Heavenly Father to place blessings of peace and rest on all the people, of all kinds and nations who rest in this house. Many have remarked on how they experienced the peace of this house.

We found the unit to be in a great location, due to the Beach Club Beach access. The unit itself was very clean and nicely furnished. The ammenties included were greatly appreciated. ( beach towels, chairs, coolers, and snorkel gear) A lot of units we have stayed in do no include chairs and towels, which really come in handy. I would say the only thing that we could have used were left over condiments. ( mustard, ketchup, mayo, olive oil) Maybe when cleaning out the fridge leave these items for the next guest. We would definately stay here again and recommend the unit to friends. Mahalo!

The perfect rental!

This rental surpassed our expectations. This condo is spacious and the owners have made it more welcoming by their furnishings and attention to detail.

They provide everything you might need for your stay.

The location is great. It is an easy walk to the beach, and a shirt drive to the petroglyphs on the site.

No need to go far for excellent restaurants, so you can spend the day swimming or snorkeling and not worry about getting dinner. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor gas fired bbq is there if needed. We just used it to make breakfast daily.

The only negative is that parking can be tricky and often there were no spot in front. However, there were always places relatively close.

One of the best rentals in all of our travels!

Nice condo with lots of amenties

This is a very nice 2br/2ba condo in a great location in Mauna Lani, with access to a pool and a 10 min walk to a fun little beach. Lots of gear available, and towels and videos and a well-appointed kitchen.

Never did get the walk-in gate code to work (and no one knew how to fix this), and the A/C was set to 85 and did not seem to be something you could fix.

Great location though for exploring the Kona coast!

Owner's Response: Occasionally I respond to a review. This is helpful feedback to receive. I have emailed the complex manager to see if there is an issue with the Palm Villas walk in gate and I will also change the welcome and home instructions book to give more detailed instructions for how to use the gate. This is the first feedback on this gate we have ever had. Concerning the AC thermostat, sadly our local manager, JT, did not receive a call from this guests about it. It is not permanently set to 85 but defaults to that when the house is empty and will cool down quickly when changed. Very easily changeable all the way to 72F. Concerns like this can always be corrected by a call to our local manager. That is why she is there. Please call her when you have questions or concerns.

Outstanding Place to Stay

This condo unit is located at the far end of the complex -very quiet and private. Yet it was short walk to the beautiful pool. The interior decor and furnishings are all top of the line. The kitchen was extremely well furnished and supplied. Beach and snorkeling gear (a full range of sizes) were available in the garage. We also really enjoyed the access to the beach club. We are already planning a return visit.

Beautifully quiet and exclusive!

We really enjoyed the secure gated property. The H3 unit was incredibly decorated and clean. We had the pool all to ourselves one night. Definately will return!

Wonderful property

The 2-BR/2-Bath condo was situated on the end of a quiet, private drive; bedrooms are at opposite ends of the condo, walls were plenty thick so couldn't hear any neighbor noise (and, as we had a 6-month-old with us, we're hopeful they couldn't hear us as she adjusted the first two nights!) - for those with children, there was a pack-n-play & high chair in the garage, as well as a few coolers for storing breastmilk when exploring the island. The private pool was very nice, and on-site gym was small and limited, but in good condition. Across the street from the private drive is the Mauna Lani Fitness Center, for which guest passes are available ($25/day or $125/wk), and classes (e.g., spin, yoga, pilates at $15 per or $120/10, can be split between family members - no guest pass required for classes). There are several paved and unpaved trails for walking/jogging, and parking at the Mauna Lani resort was free, in case you wanted to explore there (not so for Fairmont Orchid - parking fee applies, though one could walk from the Beach Heiroglyphics Park parking lot).

The unit was fully stocked with all kitchen items (including a garlic press, blender, coffeemaker) and some basic cooking items, as well as a completely stocked spice rack. The outdoor grill was nice, and propane furnished. Internet worked pretty well; some reduced signal in the periphery of the unit, as wifi shared between 2 units, but overall no real problems. Unit furnishings were comfortable and in good condition; decor was pleasant and relaxing. Washer/dryer in good working order and much appreciated (allows you to pack lighter), though a bit noisy. Owners or prior renters had even left laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent. Would definitely consider staying here again.
