A lovely small property nestling in the shropshire countryside

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect for a couple. It's very clean, well equipped and comfortable and feels very spacious even though the kitchen, dining, living and sleeping area are essentially all one room separated by a door to an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom is also a good size with a bath/shower,toilet and sinkThe living area opens onto a small balcony with a table and chairs which is perfect for outdoor dining weather permitting.Beneath the property is a laundry room-washing machine/tumble dryer and another shower. There's ample parking space alongside the property which is nextdoor to the owner's property therefore gaining access was straightforward. The owners are very helpful and welcomimg and there was a jug of milk and biscuits already at the property when we arrived which is a lovely gesture. We thorougly enjoyed our stay and will recommend the property to friends and family.

Peaceful retreat

A beautiful and peaceful hideaway great for our doggie holiday. We took our labrador and collie with us and they loved it too. Everything you would need is to hand in the apartment and the balcony was a fantastic place to sit with a cuppa!

Lovely place and lovely owners

  • 5 of 5

Really lovely place. Very cosy and all wooden. It feels a bit like a tree house for grown ups. I don't know why but the cosiness really stands out when you're in bed, which was outstandingly comfortable. The owners are delightful, I was very touched to find a bag of homemade scones, just out the oven, on my doorstep.

I highly recommend it as a lovely escape to a warm, comfortable and different space.

A Warm Shropshire Welcome

  • 5 of 5

I began to relax the moment I arrived. The balcony with its outdoor seating/dining area overlooks fields, trees and the Stretton hills, and was perfect for sitting back and enjoying a glass of wine whilst admiring the view. Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and yet discreet. They regularly provided little treats of homemade bread or cakes. The accommodation was cosy and warm with central heating that seemed extremely efficient. There was free WIFI which worked without a hitch - important to me. If you are tall, you will need to be a little careful because the accommodation is in the eaves and has low headroom in places. There is an extra shower room off the utility room underneath the accommodation, in case you want a shower in a cubicle as opposed to over the bath, and even here the heating is toasty. We took our bikes, and there was space in the utility room below to store them securely. There are many lanes, villages - and pubs - to explore locally and cycling is a great way to do it. You can easily cycle to Church Stretton and Cardingmill Valley in under an hour at a leisurely pace. Having said that, Dorrington is a very easy 10 minute walk away and has a couple of eating places one of which, the Horseshoes, we tried and enjoyed a lovely steak dinner. Back at the accommodation look out for Dora, the very friendly cat, and mischevious little Spangle the dog, who managed to burrow through cling film to eat some chocolate cake that had been left on the step for us! Happy to recommend the place if you want to relax at your own pace, in comfort, in the Shropshire countryside.
