The Bath House has two twin bedrooms, one on the ground floor, and one double, plus a cot. The bathroom and shower room are also ground floor. There is a large garden ,and conservatory, ample parking, and a wood burning stove for cosy winter nights. Guests have private carp fishing on the farms two acre lake and the cottage is surrounded by a wealth of wildlife yet only two miles from Tenbury Wells.
I am a widow farming 120 acres, mainly grass, keeping sheep, some of them rare breeds such as Cotswolds and Shropshires plus pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle. The farm also produces high quality apple juice, honey ,jams and free range eggs.My daughter is a vet and also lives on the farm,we are both keen gardeners when time permits. The farmhouse where we live is only a few hundred yards from the Bath house so we are usually on hand to sort out any questions.I married into farming, my father was a garage owner in a local village, my parents in law purchased the farm during the war, when my husband was farming it we produced thatching straw and many other unusual crops
Dr C. Field purchased this cottage in 1943
The Bath House is a cottage on our farm in a very peaceful setting yet only two miles from the shops and facilities of Tenbury. It was extensively renovated in the late 1970's for my husbands own use and when we married the fitted kitchen was added as a wedding present from his mother. The large conservatory was built during the twenty years my mother lived there.Much of her antique furniture is still in the cottage along with many of her beautiful watercolours. This cottage has the feel of permanence, of a home, timeless and a part of the landscape yet with TV,Broadband,DVD,washing machine, fridge, freezer, and microwave.
What more can I say, I have many happy memories of early married life there. Of watching weasels play on the wall,of seeing a Roe deer on the lawn and of my daughter as a baby. I decided I could not bring myself to take long term lets but would much prefer to share the delights of the Bath House with as many people as possible I have added Carp fishing to add to peoples enjoyment of the secluded lake and just hope my guests love what we have here as much as we do.
lovely area plenty to see. Would recommend the Pembroke House Pub for food, staff and customers very friendly. My husband and I wanted a relaxing holiday, and we did enjoy watching the Pheasant, they would come round every day to visit. Quite peaceful
This was the second time we've stayed at the cottage, and our holiday was even more successful than the first. We stayed with our two sons, eight and four, and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to spend a week as a family in a wonderful rual setting, away from the city, waking up with sheep out the window. The boys enjoyed kicking a ball around in the garden or one of the neighbouring fields; and feeding the farmer's lambs. We also went on some long, circular walks from the cottage, starting at the stile at the end of the garden. And enjoyed the wood burner in the evening.
The cottage was as stated as just outside Tenbury Wells, but not too far away that you felt too remote.
It was clean and tidy and the owner lit the fire and put a Christmas tree up for us before we arrived :-)
Lots of nice pubs and shops in Tenbury. I would recommend Ludlow not far away but beautiful.
The cottage was large and roomy we had 11 people stay over the course of the week. Not all at the same time! It slept 6 more than comfortably.
The owner was lovely and made sure we had enough wood for the wood burner and checked we had everything we needed.
Would definitely recommend it and go back again.
Safari park, various open farms, gourmet restaurants in Ludlow, wonderful local scenery and a wealth of on farm wildlife.
