About Pauline Blackburn
We visited Normandy in September 2005 just to view a few properties or so we thought. We viewed one property then arrived at this one to which we fell totally in love with. It was like going back in time to our youth. In early 2006 we moved here from Yorkshire with our family pets 2 ponies and a dog. The area is so peaceful, rural yet not too far to amenities.
Pauline Blackburn purchased this Cottage in 2005

Le Grenier, a cosy little nest in the middle of Normandy.
After our drive down from Bayeux, we had a lovely welcome from Pauline, Phil and their dog Sam. There was a lovely welcome pack on the table, including a bottle of red wine, butter, cheese, french bread, croissants and grapes, milk and fresh eggs, fluffy dressing gowns for our use, toiletries and fresh flowers from their garden brightening up the room. Tea bags, and coffee were also provided. Chocolates and biscuits were also kindly left for us. Pauline thoroughly explained all the necessary info, (how the shower worked, the fire, if we needed it, recycling and rubbish etc.
They were both very friendly and provided us with fresh eggs, tomatoes and cucumber. There was a lot of information in the house about places to visit and nearby restaurants.
The house itself was very comfortable, (especially the reclining chair!!). It provided us with a much-needed, relaxing break. Driving around the countryside was delightful, very few cars on the roads and everywhere was signposted, so even if you don't speak French, getting around was not difficult at all.
You will need a car if you visit as it is quite a way out of the larger towns, but in my opinion, this was one of it's attractions, no noise, (apart from the birds and other animals!)
It was lovely having chats with Pauline and Phil and although we may not visit Normandy again, I would definitely recommend this lovely property to anyone who wants an away from it all holiday.
We thank you Pauline and Phil for being such welcoming hosts.

Tranquil place in the heart of Normandy
The property was well equipped with many little extras provided by excellent hosts, Phil and Pauline. Deep in the heart of Normandy many tourist sites were within reach, although some of the closer ones were not as grand as the brochures led one to believe.
