Large family house available with stunning sea and hill views, perfect for families and friends, plenty of space for 7 or 8.

Large living dining kitchen area with oak floor and wood burning stove, all new appliances, conservatory and private garden outdoor table and chairs with barbecue, 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles one with ensuite, one twin, one single, lovely sea views from master bedroom and snug on top floor, open fire, wifi, freeview TV. Rental includes basket of logs for wood-burning stove, coal for open fire on top floor, fresh eggs from our own hens. All towels and linen provided.

Large shed at the bottom of the garden is perfect for cycles or canoes.

In a pretty fishing village with renowned seafood restaurant, as well as the East Pier Smokehouse for lobster and smoked salmon, close to Ardross farm shop, which is wonderful for foodies, Elie beach for swimming, sea-kayaking, sailing and canoeing, golf courses nearby at Elie and Charleton, 12 miles from St Andrews and easy access to the Highlands for day out in Perthshire or further afield. About an hour's drive from Edinburgh airport.

Beautiful and very well equipped house.

We hired this property for a long weekend to celebrate my mother in laws 70th birthday. It is a beautiful property set in a very convenient location and so well equipped, every little thing has been thoughtfully provided and we were also able to borrow a travel cot and highchair for our youngest. Maia is very helpful and quick to respend to any queries.

I'd highly recommend this place and would definitely love to return one day.

A welcoming family home in a gorgeous location

We all loved this house; it had clearly been home to a family in the past, so had lots of little touches that are missing in many rental properties - hooks where you need them, extra blankets, a range of books, ducks for the bath and balls for the garden. It felt very spacious with its large conservatory and extra sitting room on the top floor, so there's always somewhere to snuggle up with a book or ipad. It's worth pointing out that the stairs to the top floor (where you can find the single and double bedrooms) felt a little narrow and steep, so my elderly father and children slept on the first floor to avoid having to navigate the stairs during the night. The Wifi is great - it supported several devices streaming at the same time, although it's very weak in the single room at the top. The eggs from Maia's chickens were amazing - thank you! St Monan's doesn't have lots of cafes or tourist shops, but you can walk out the door along the beautiful coastline in both directions. We were sad to leave, and will come back as soon as we can.

Great property, Sea views, ideally located

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The property was beautifully kept, spacious and really added to the seaside holiday feel. I particularly loved the open plan space downstairs, sea view from the master bedroom and the great additional living room upstairs where we could watch the sunrise and the boats coming in and out of the harbour.

Maia was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. I would absolutely recommend this property.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet in St Monan's which was very relaxing and a real getaway from busy family life. The coastal walks are fantastic, it's ideally located for a manageable walk down to Elie with it's beautiful beach and fantastic food at The Ship Inn and up to Pitenweem where we enjoyed ice cream at Janettas. It's also just a short drive away from St Andrew's which is well worth a visit.

It's a part of the world we love and will definitely be back!

We had a lovely family Christmas in the house. Plenty of space for the babies to play.

We all loved the location of your home and we very quickly felt at home. kitchen was very well equipped. Bedrooms were spacious and brilliant views from top floor rooms. Just a suggestion that you could have safety gates on stairs for young families staying however they did have a great time in the house.

Ideal home for exploring Fife

This house was perfect for our multi generational holiday. There was lots of space and the house was very well equipped. Lovely to have a wood burning stove. The heating and hot water were very efficient. Showers were good. Wifi worked well.

The house is beautifully decorated. It felt cosy and welcoming. Beds were comfortable and good quality towels and bedlinen were provided. Kitchen was a dream.

Very easy to communicate with the owner and the keys were easily accessible.

St Monans was a great village with shop, pub, fishmonger and interesting walks along the Fife Coastal path to Elie and Pittenween in easy walking distance.

We would love to come back!

Spacious and comfortable house - ideal for a family holiday

We really felt our luck was in when we arrived at the cottage in St. Monan's. It was a relief to be able to park on the hard standing immediately outside the front door and unload our bags into the hall. We'd made our holiday choice without any prior knowledge of the area and were very pleased to find a lovely, spacious, well-equipped house that felt very easy to be in. A bit like putting on a pair of comfy but presentable slippers - everyone felt at home. Our two girls quickly found the back garden and were turning cartwheels on the lawn.

The place was clean and tidy and we'd been left a basket of home-produced eggs by the owner, which was a nice touch.

For a family of five there is more than enough space. The first floor has a master bedroom with en suite shower room, a twin room and bathroom. The second floor has a further double room, a small single and a sitting room with panoramic views across the harbour. You could easily take grandparents along.

St. Monan's itself is small but picturesque. The local shops have everything you need, including well-fired rolls. It's quite possible to walk along the coast to Pittenweem and Anstruther, and we also went the other way almost to Elie. The coastal path is very popular with dog owners.

Good places to visit were the Anstruther Fishing Museum, which was surprisingly extensive and accommodates a number of historic vessels, the famous Anstruther Fish Bar, Kellie Castle (NT), St. Andrews (children loved the Aquarium), Elie is excellent for sea swimming (yes we did go in!), Crail Pottery and rock-pooling in St. Monan's itself (we caught an ugly brute of a fish!).

We bought food locally, including from the well-stocked farm shop on the road to Elie, and had some great meals in the huge conservatory.

For our family, with children of 14, 10 and 7, it was ideal. One week is never enough and we all wished we'd had another few days before returning to Berkshire. We would love to come back if the opportunity arises.
