Fully Winterized: The cottage is fully insulated and heated with two rinnai heaters for a comfortable retreat during fall and winter. The outer cape is a unique place off-season to find peace and quiet with endless beautiful walks and solitude. A perfect place to focus on creative pursuits or just relax.
What an excellent and private cottage. The photos here begin to do this property justice, but only just. This was more than enough room for the two of us - and I wish we stayed longer.
My girlfriend and I loved this cottage and found the location convenient and perfect for our first visit to Cape Cod. One Tip: plan on buying groceries in one of the towns before getting to N. Truro. You'll save money and avoid having to drive south again to a Stop & Shop.
The owner was so nice, quick to respond to our questions and concerns leading up to the trip. Really made us feel welcomed (Our first 'homeaway' rental).
It's a perfect combination of rustic cabin and the comforts we've (unfortunately) grown used to - WiFi and Satellite TV ! The property backs onto a glen and pond - even during the rainy days there were lots of birds to watch out the windows. You'll feel secluded here, but still so close to HWY 6 & 6A.
During a particularly bad rain day we drove down to Hyannis and the JFK museum. We also rented bikes through Idle Times - they'll pick up and deliver at no charge. They were great to deal with. From this cottage we biked North to P-town and beyond to Race Point and the great (but hilly!) trails there.
Truro Vineyards is also very close and offers a good tasting, as well as a food truck, tour and gift shop.
We're already trying to plan our trip back.
We worried a little about writing a review for one of our favorite places, fearing that we would have trouble getting in once other people found out about it. But it's many charms are meant to be shared, not hidden, so we decided to take our chances and let the world in on a true gem.
We have stayed many times as Erica's great cottage. It is cozy & light with nice architectural details, and has lots of space and a lot of privacy. And it is quiet, which you might not expect, given it's proximity to Rt 6A in North Truro.
One of the best things about the cottage, is it's closeness to everything: the bay, the ocean, P-town, the Flex bus line, Highland Light, Truro Vineyards, we could go on & on. Also, right down the street is a new general/package store, a great little coffee shop, and a chocolatier. 2 of our favorite, and the area's best restaurants, Terra Luna & Blackfish, are also close by.
The cottage itself is light & bright, with a good sized bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room with a dining area. There is also a loft which overlooks the living room. It is well furnished, and always clean and ready to move into on the day we arrive. The backyard is peaceful, with Erica's garden attracting all sorts of birds & small animals.
We always enjoy staying here, and have been in the spring, fall & even Thanksgiving, and have never been disappointed. Erica is a great host, unobtrusive but extremely helpful & friendly. We highly recommend
This is a charming and clean cottage with beautiful light and artistic touches everywhere. It is very well maintained, simple, uncluttered, and elegant. We try to visit the cape at least once every year and this is a favorite spot to come! It is a peaceful oasis and is well equipped with everything we need to relax, cook meals, and unwind. We appreciate a full tub with a toddler, and enjoy all the thoughtful and simple creative touches - like the small diamond shaped window that looks out onto the organic gardens outside, the big bay window off the bedroom that fills with multi-colored zinnias in the fall, and the use of soft colors and light natural wood throughout the house. It is so relaxing and peaceful just to stay in but the ocean calls! The location is perfect for us. Private but just a short morning walk to the bay beach, and a five minute drive to our favorite ocean beaches. The old North Truro store Dutras, which is under new ownership with a new name is just a minute walk away and has great fresh coffee and anything you need in a pinch. The Truro Library is a short walk and has a great playground.
The owners are wonderful and always there if we have ever needed anything, but when we come here we generally find we don't need a thing, except a few more days at this beautiful cottage near the sea!
My partner and I rented this cottage for 3 nights for an extended week end in February. Everything was great, extremely clean, comfortable, and the high cathedral ceilings and windows all around make it very cozy and welcoming.
The bedroom is really large, with a comfortable bed and windows overlooking the nature. There is also a mezzanine bedroom that can accomodate 1/2 more persons.
We were very pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the kitchen is (we are cooks, and since it was winter we were not planning on going out to eat), we had more than what we needed.
A nice extra was to have a washer/dryer in the cottage too, so no need for the usual depressing post vacation laundry at home!
The location is great, especially if you're looking for a quiet and secluded place to stay. And it's only 10 minutes away by car from Provincetown if you need. It is also a mere 10 minutes walk to the beach.
Last but not least, the owner Erica is extremely friendly, responsive and helpful and went above and beyond to have the place ready for us although she was traveling with her family at the time we stayed there.
We will definitely come back if we're in the area again.
Warm and inviting for sure! My family has stayed here for the past 3 years and we will continue to stay here. Very clean and peaceful environment. Great for families too! Owner is very accomodating and friendly. Nature walks and beaches just a short walk away. This is a must stay!
What a wonderful find! Spotless, beautiful interior, comfortable bed, laundry, high ceilings refurbished with stunning reclaimed wood, lots of windows and light. This was the perfect size for a couple: cozy and comfortable, yet more than enough room for cooking, dining, and relaxing. Kitchen has everything you need. The outdoor shower encircled with a bed of mint was a relaxing way to end days spent at the beach. Although very conveniently located -- steps to a private bay beach, a minutes drive from the ocean, an easy commute to either Wellfleet or Provincetown for groceries, sightseeing, dinners out-- the house feels very private, set back from the road and surrounded by a lush and stunning garden.
The owners were very kind and helpful. This was by far our best experience with a cape rental, and we can't wait to return!
