Overall we had a great week at the camp. The camp was very clean and had everything we needed. The waterfront was very good to put our kayaks in and out. We wished the water was a little deeper for swimming out front.
We had a great week on the lake and this camp served as our home base. It had everything we needed inside and out. We were able to dock two boats and the sandy beach served as a perfect launching area for our kayaks and paddle boards. We paddled out to the sandbar every morning and had coffee and watched the loons, boated, jumped off the rope swing and the rock in the upper basin. The camp has a southern exposure and the outdoor area gets a lot of sun but it was never too hot for anyone in our group. Rich, the owner, is responsive and easy to deal with, I would definitely suggest booking this camp!
This property was better than what we expected it to be. Clean, cozy, and comfortable, completely outfitted with every thing needed to cook even a lobster pot.The beach was nice with easy water entry to the crisp clean Lake. Freeport and Portland is about 30 min drive with many nice shops and great dining options! Can't wait to go back again next year !
loved the view! fishing, canoeing and swimming! a little too close to neighbors with noisy kids, but overall delightful! I would actually recommend this to friends as it is a wonderful lakeside cottage, very homey and clean. We did travel a bit but mostly fished and swam and stayed right around the cottage.
Gray is a great location to stay as it was a 30 min drive to Freeport and to Portland. Little Sebago Lake is not so little but the area in which the cottage is located is relatively quiet except for the potatoe launcher a couple of doors down, entertaining. The sloping backyard right into the water worked out great with our 12 month old grandson he was able to walk into the water and sit at the waters edge and play. Having the boat and canoe was great my husband enjoyed the early moving quiet fishing time with the Loons on the lake. The cottage had plenty of sleeping options however upstair got very hot and stuffy we were greatful that the nights were cool. The kitchen was well stock with all the comforts of home making meal prep easy. It was wonderful to wake up early with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the beauty of the Lake. The neighbors were all very nice offering us facts about the area and sharing water floats for our grandson.
This charming Maine cottage was the perfect respite! We wanted peace, quiet, and tranquility and that is exactly what we enjoyed. The photos did not do justice for the cottage, it was everything I'd imagined and more. We absolutely loved the rustic charm and were in awe when we walked out on to the dock and witnessed a bald eagle in the tall pine right outside the door. We spent warm afternoons on the beach, which is literally steps away and then cool evenings in front of fire. We were serenaded each day by the Loons. The weather was very nice with a couple of thunder storms quickly blowing through in the late afternoon. The excitement and anticipation of this vacation had been building since January and did not disappoint. We look forward to coming back
Little Sebago Lake is 7.5 miles long and full of character. There are several islands and coves that are excellent places to explore by kayak or canoe. The lake has several sandbars that are gathering spots on hot days. The lake is home to several pairs of Loons and a family of Bald Eagles. It is well known for its fishing as well. The cottage is less than 30 miles to Portland's Old Port and the L.L. Bean store in Freeport where you will find a wide variety of shops, outlets and restaurants. There are numerous hikes and scenic day trips all a short distance from the cottage. A Fun Park featuring mini golf and bumper boats are close by. Boat, jet ski & kayak rentals are available throughout the lakes region. Sheets and towels need to be provided by the renter.
