About Robert & Linda Moore Roblin Landings

Welcome to our vacation home!

We live in Marshalltown, Iowa, and we are both retired from the Iowa Valley Community College District in Marshalltown, where Linda was a Library Supervisor and Bob was a Professor of Psychology. We both continue to teach psychology classes part time. We also do a great deal of volunteer work in our community:

--Linda is focusing on kids, our local Orpheum Theater and our annual Jean Seberg Festival.

--Bob serves on the boards of arts and cultural activities, is helping to catalog the Orpheum Stage and Screen and Jean Seberg collection, and is even dabbling a bit in art himself!

--We both love to travel. and in recent years we have been to Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, and Belgium, Key West, a Caribbean cruise, Cuba, and Merida, Yucatan!

Linda has two adult sons, one in Mason City, IA, and one in Portland, OR. Bob has three adult daughters, two in Orlando, FL, and one on Daniel Island, SC. We have four wonderful grandsons and a super-duper step-granddaughter (we call her our gift granddaughter!).

When we are not traveling to see kids, we spend a lot of time (and our children's inheritance) on house renovation, both in Marshalltown and on our condo. We also love to travel and have in the past few years been to The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Key West, and Cuba. We recently cruised in the Bahamas, departing from Cape Canaveral, FL. The young lady in the picture with us is our first exchange student. Priscilla is from The Netherlands and she loved traveling with us to Amelia Island and elsewhere in America!

Robert & Linda Moore Roblin Landings purchased this condo in 2005

Why Robert & Linda Moore Roblin Landings chose Northeast Florida

Since we have daughters and grandkids living in the Orlando and Charleston areas, we wanted a place roughly half way between the two locations. Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island is just perfect for us! We winter in the condo and rent it out the remainder of the year.

What makes this condo unique

All the comforts of a (ok, small, 850 SF) home, at rates that will surprise you! Senior and military discounts, return visitor discount, a free one-week stay after six stays with us, and occasional 'surprise specials' such as our amazing '20% Black Hole' or "Last-Minute specials--just ask!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We very much enjoyed our stay in Amelia Island at RobLin Landings! It was a relaxing stay and perfect for a week-long escape. The beach was a simple walk from the condo, and downtown Amelia Island offered quaint restaurants and shopping. Thank you so much for providing a clean spacious condo fully equipped with games, movies, cooking utensils, and internet connection. The weather was perfect throughout the entire stay and I would highly recommend RobLin Landings to my friends and family for any future vacations. Thanks again!

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated the end of the college semester by coming down to Amelia Island for a long weekend. Robert and Linda's place was a homey, clean, easy place to stay as we focused on relaxing and reconnecting. My husband and four year old son took long naps on the comfy living room couch while I sat on the screened porch and read, or walked over to the pool to float aimlessly. After naptime, we walked up to DeNucci's for soft serve. The tree canopy of Amelia Landings keeps things shady and cool. The complex itself feels welcoming and like a mix of residents and visitors; it is not overly touristy or too glitzy. I like it that it feels like real people live there. With a four-year old who wanted to take every item in the known universe with him every time, it's kind of a pain walking the path to the beach. However, for kids and adults who can carry their own weight, it would be a fun adventure. Robert and Linda are fastidious about their guests' comfort, a fact I most appreciated in the pillowy, comfortable beds and linens. We never have enough time in this beautiful area, but we hope to be back soon.

Best spring break!!

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely time in Amelia Island at Bob and Linda's condo!! It was well maintained and stocked to suit all of our needs during our stay. We really enjoyed sitting out in the screened porch in the evenings to enjoy the peace and quiet. The short walk to the beach was also very convenient. We took in many of the island's sights including Fort Clinch State Park and the historic downtown area, but our go to destination was the beach!! Not overcrowded at all which is very ideal for families with children. We hope to return again next spring. Thanks again, Bob and Linda!!!

Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Bob and Linda's condo the month of March, 2017. It was our first experience on Amelia Island, and we fell in love with it! Amelia Landings is a very quiet complex, but close enough to walk to restaurants and the beach, which was perfect for us. The condo was very nice and clean, and it felt like home almost immediately. We will definitely come back to the island again next year.

It Was Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This condo experience was more than I had expected it to be. The pictures on the website give you a two dimensional view of the property and the location, but you need to be there to really appreciate what is there. The condo, as all have expressed, was well stocked and homey. The screened in porch was probably my favorite spot in the home. I called it my tree house, as it feels like you are, literally, in a house within the trees. The closeness of the condo to the beach (two blocks) made walking by the ocean very accessible. The fact that the home is tucked away in the trees, makes for its location to be peaceful and quiet. The best of both worlds. We also enjoyed eating at the various restaurants in town, particularly The Salty Pelican and the one right next door, Cedar River Seafood. So, to summarize, the month at this condo was wonderful. Thank you Bob and Linda for all you do to make it so.

Owner's Response: What an amazing review, Kathleen! Thank you so much for all your kind words! Linda and I cannot express strongly enough the pleasure we get when one of our guests has the experience you describe and is willing to share it with fellow travelers. We sure agree with you about the screened porch overlooking the woods, or "tree house" as you so poetically put it!! We love it there too! Please come back, and be sure to remind me you are a return visitor and get an extra 5 percent discount on your nightly rental rate! Bob

OWNER REVIEW OF OUR OWN PROPERTY!

  • 5 of 5

This is submitted by the owners, Robert L. & Linda A. Moore regarding our own stay in our Amelia Landings Resort condo.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the condo and the Island as much as we would have liked during this stay. We used much of the time remodeling the master bathroom! Yes, I know, what a way to have fun, right?

It does look great though, and we know our guests will really like it. The guest bathroom is going to be done the week of April 10-14 by (unlike me) a professional!

Bob
