This apartment is in the neighbourhood of Las Letras (Huertas), the most charming neighbourhood in Madrid, not only because of its great location and lovely architecture of its typical Madrid buildings, but also because it is a mostly pedestrian area: strolling through its streets is a true delight! Surrounded by enticing shops and businesses, close to the top museums in the city, it has an international, cosmopolitan feel.

The apartment:

It is on the second floor of a small building without a lift . It is inward facing but has lots of sunlight and is nice and quiet. It has been recently renovated to offer guests the utmost in comfort.

With two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room, it can sleep six.

The independent bedrooms are separated by the living room and a corridor. They both have a full bathroom with shower and have been tastefully decorated to create fashionable welcoming spaces that combine modern furniture and authentic vintage items. The original wallpaper, combined with the blue and yellow walls, is a real treasure.

The simple, small living room has a lovely dining table next to the handy kitchen and a lounge next to the TV.

There is Wi-Fi internet and partial air conditioning that easily cools or heats the whole apartment.

A great choice!

This apartment does not have private parking; however, you will find public parking within 200 meters.

This property might as well be abandoned by the property managers, that's how it was treated.

This property is one of the reasons why you should try to avoid properties managed by property management companies. Regarding the apartment itself, the place has numerous points of disrepair, some of which are dangerous. The property does not match the listed pictures. It's obvious that there is little effort and money put back into this apartment to make it barely livable.

1) The fan in one of the bathroom's doesn't work.

2) Several utensils are heavily used and half broken. For example, some of the knives are bent at the cutting region and quite dull otherwise so they don't work very well and should be replaced as dull knives are dangerous. We didn't use them, we brought our own. The cheese slicer also fell into pieces the first time we tried to use it.

3) The floor covering (paint?) in several areas of the apartment is peeling and coming up.

4) The broom that was left here is broken, the broom head does not attach securely to the broom handle making the broom somewhat unusable. There is also no duct pan to sweep debris into.

5) The ironing board does not work very well and keeps falling down due to the hooks on the underside being bent. The iron is missing the cap to the water reservoir so water leaks out everywhere.

6) Some of the lights in the kitchen don't work. The bathroom light bulb was dead upon arrival. This is the simplest thing to check, an obvious sign that the management company neglects the property.

7) The grout in the bathroom needs to be cleaned and replaced; there are several areas which are missing and probably allowing water to leak into the sub-floor; a lot of it is moldy.

8) Several chairs are barely held together and quite honestly we don't feel safe sitting in them. They really should be replaced.

9) The shower head in the bathroom does not stay up anymore and leaks around the hose shower head connection.

In summary, this apartment does not meet expectations especially considering what we paid for it. For safety reasons and to provide the best experience for your customers you should take this place off the market and refinish it.

One last note, you need to go to an office 1.2km away from the apartment to pick up the keys before entering the property. The management company never even sent us the address of where to pick up the keys. They never responded to pre-check out messages.
