Immerse in the splendor and beauty of Puget Sound during your stay at The Beach House!
With a fabulous location less than 2 hours from Seattle and 20 minutes from Olympia, the Beach House is located on Puget Sound's Oakland Bay, 2 miles from downtown Shelton, Washington. We are on the north side, making it easy to have a Starbucks in your hand in less than 5 minutes or any other activities in Shelton.
The completely rebuilt Beach House is situated on the sun-drenched, south-facing side of Oakland Bay with commanding views. The home is brand new inside and out having been rebuilt in 2007, all furnishings brand new as of November. The Beach House features an open floor plan with two bedrooms, one bathroom, totaling 1000 square feet. Unobstructed views from every room except one bedroom has slight view. The home sits on a 200' bulkhead. Low bank water front. The home is perfect for a single family or a couples get away.
Walk outside the two, double French doors onto the large deck and enjoy the 'outside living room' furnished with beautiful furniture, rugs, umbrella and a stainless steel deck heater. Barbecue from the deck as you enjoy the views or simply cook inside where the water is always in sight.
The Beach House features expansive outdoor spaces, both covered and sunny, with three different levels of yard. One of the three lower level yards sits a patio table, chairs and umbrella for alfresco dining. There is a lounging deck with two commercial grade lounging chairs. Children can reach lower level with the custom made 14 foot slide from the deck.
Our home is popular with the older crowd as there are no stairs to get to or inside of the home. The only stairs (about 20) which are easy to navigate, are to the lower yards or beach.
The Beach House is located on a private beach. A short beach walk toward marina and you might be able find oysters. Enjoy beach combing, bird-watching and wildlife viewing, including bald eagles, deer, blue heron, harbor seals, rabbits and raccoons.
If you're really lucky, you'll spot the pod of 4 Orca whales that pass through once in a while. Lately we've had the pleasure of watching a couple porpoises. On sunny days you can see Mt. Rainer.
Historical Shelton and the surrounding areas offer plenty for everyone. Experience Mother Nature fishing, hiking, or visit the Olympic National Forest less than 45 minutes away. If staying put is what you like, our historical town has an old fashion drive-in theater, award winning restaurants, quaint boutique shops and even a casino for those feeling lucky! Children will love the playground at Kneeland Park.
There are also several great golf courses nearby. A local visitors guide at the home gives you hundreds of great ideas to do during your stay.
Your stay at our warm and inviting home will sure to relax and rejuvenate you.

We purchased the land and what used to be the old home in 2004. After gutting down to the foundation and rebuilding, the home was complete in 2007. We share our time between two homes in the area, best of both worlds, and decided to let others enjoy our beach house when we couldn't! We grew up on the water and wanted the same experiences for our children. With 200 feet of Puget Sound waterfront, it's the perfect place to unwind with family.
Stacy purchased this house in 2004
What we love about the home besides the obvious is the location. 200 ft of private waterfront, yet only a 5 minute drive into downtown Shelton. Grabbing Starbucks, groceries and taking the kids to park is just moments away.
"Thank you for sharing your hide-a-way with us. The house and all it's ameneties were absolutely wonderful. The view was spectacular, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay"
Great house with a beautiful and serene waterfront view. Will come back again for a summer vacation if available!! Thank you for a pleasurable experience.
My husband and I just spend 4 nights at The Beach house with out 2yr old daughter. It was wonderful to arrive and find the house spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed. It truly felt like home. Our daughter loved playing on the slide while my husband and I enjoyed the wonderful views from any of the three terraces. We loved that if we didn't want to sit outside we could open the wonderful French doors and enjoy the nice weather. The beach access was great and we spent a good amount of time hanging out on the beach, sitting on the floating dock, or just floating on the water in inflatable rafts. We really appreciated that they had a gate at the top of the stairs to the beach, great safety feature for those with young children. We weren't lucky enough to see any whales but, we did see a couple seals. We were sad to be leaving this sweet little house and would highly recommend it.
My family just spent a week at this beautiful home in Shelton. We enjoyed walking the beach, swimming, exploring nearby sites and hiking. We had heard about award-winning restaurants in Shelton and were looking forward to exploring them, but each evening we couldn't think of a better place to have dinner than the deck on this waterfront home.
It was so nice upon arrival to find everything clean, fresh towels on the outside chaise lounges, and clear instructions for how things worked (TV, DVD, garden sprinklers, etc.). Living quarters are compact, but we had everything we needed to easily prepare meals, play board games in the evening and relax with a book. The house was equipped with beach towels for swimming or sunning on one of several terraces down to the water.
We were sad to leave this refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life and hope to return. We will happily recommend it to friends.
