HOW WE TAKE CARE OF YOU
From the moment you walk through the front door of our Edwardian townhouse, we want you to feel welcome. Our townhouse is spacious, light and lovingly cared for. We provide high speed wireless internet, free long distance phone calls to North America, Australia and most of Europe and oyster cards (travel cards) which you can top up across the street and use on all tubes and buses. We take care of you before you arrive with our own guide to the area, including nearby stores and restaurants, a little local history and some of our favorite haunts. We also mail you directions and descriptions of our favorite London walks and a street map of London, which includes bus routes and tube stops. If you need any advice about your stay just email or call Fatijah (presently in California but still a Londoner at heart). If anything crops up during your stay, text our wonderful property manager, who is there to help.
THE CHARMING SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD
Maida Vale, one of Central London's upscale neighborhoods, is a sought after area for Londoners, because while you can easily get anywhere in central London, it is also quiet and friendly, without the pollution and bustle of Soho or Oxford Street. The charming parade of shops boasts a florist, beauty parlor, and general store (where you can top up the travel cards we leave you) as well as restaurants and delis (such as Bon Appetit, specializing in homemade croissants).
One block away is a large park with two children’s playgrounds and a running track (where Roger Bannister trained to break the 4 minute mile). The Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles recorded, is a 15-minute walk; as is Little Venice, with its 18th century canals and colorful houseboats. (Check out the puppet theatre barge, the canal boat ride to the zoo and the waterfront eateries.) Want to venture further? The Portabello Road Market and antique district in Notting Hill is a little over half an hour's walk.
OUR EDWARDIAN TOWNHOUSE
The reception room has large windows and classic features marking the style of the late 1800's: nine-foot ceilings, crown molding, crystal chandeliers and period prints. We provide high speed wireless internet, a high-end stereo system and an assortment of guidebooks and brochures.The dining room, which can be closed off from the living room, is stocked with Portmeirion china and has a couch and TV nook at the far end. The eat-in kitchen has modern appliances as well as a washer and a dryer. The two bedrooms, on the upper floor, are large and light. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a double and a single bed, plus a pull out trundle bed. Both bedrooms overlook one-way streets with trees and little traffic. The bathroom is vast, with a tub, shower, and bidet - as well as excellent water pressure.
CENTRAL LONDON AT YOUR DOORSTEP
From Heathrow Airport take the 15 minute Heathrow Express to Paddington Station. Go one tube stop or a very short cab ride. You’ve arrived!
Our townhouse is close to two tube stations, Maida Vale and Warwick Avenue. You can get anywhere in Central London with ease. (The Bakerloo line is one of the best, with trains running every 2 or 3 minutes.) For example, Oxford Circus, London’s shopping mecca, is a ten-minute tube ride. Piccadilly Circus, the center of the theater district, is a twelve-minute ride. The Number 6 bus runs 24 hours and stops two blocks from our residence. It has a great route – stops at Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, and Trafalgar Square. You can get on and off the tubes and buses easily with a travel card. Whether you spend your days navigating the crowds on Oxford Street, touring Westminster Abbey, or awed by the Tower of London, you will welcome returning to our quiet, safe oasis.
My husband and I live in California, which we love - but I am English - grew up in London - and was missing my friends and family. We were fortunate enough to buy this Edwardian townhouse. We visit whenever we can and when we can't be there, we love that other people are able to enjoy London.

We looked for over a year at more than 50 residences to find the perfect home base. We wanted it to be easily accessible from Heathrow, to be near a good tube line and bus route so we could easily navigate all of London, to have its own separate entrance and a spacious interior, and preferably to be a period property in a charming neighborhood (if possible with a good deli and general store across the street). Voila! This is it!
The townhouse was built in the Edwardian era - late 1800's or early 1900's - and we have decorated it with prints and memorabilia from this era.
Our friendly neighborhood is a quiet oasis in busy London. It is also near two tube stops on an excellent tube line so all of London is easily accessible - trains run every 2 to 3 minutes and go straight to Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square etc.

We saw no other tourists in this area and had all the shops, restaurants, etc. that we needed. It was like we were Londoners for a week. The apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable and only 3 or 4 minutes from the tube. Fatijah answered every email promptly and we simply had no problems. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to London.
Beautiful house in a lovely walkable neighborhood- close to buses and a tube station, which allowed us to easily get around the city. Close proximity to many sights, restaurants, grocery stores, a park, and a delicious, quaint, Italian coffee shop. We would sightsee all day long and come back to "our beautiful home" at the end of the day- perfect!
Our family of 5 really enjoyed the space and the location of Fatijah's place. She was most helpful with information before and during our stay. The proximity to the tube station was perfect and the Bakerloo line was great for seeing the sights. There is a cafe and convenience store across the street, and a restaurant below, which was convenient. The property was clean, spacious and had plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. I would recommend this to families travelling to London who want a nice space to return to at the end of a busy day.
Our family with 2 teenage daughters, stayed here for a week. We enjoyed the easy walking to the tube station, the convenience of shops and restaurants, and the comfort of this home. Fatijah was very easy to work with before our arrival, she was prompt returning emails, and provided a great guide to the neighborhood with descriptions of walks, restaurants, and shopping areas. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.
The property was perfect. Very convenient to a variety of restaurants and a grocery for making our stay more comfy. The house had all we needed and the key pad instead of an actual key was very helpful. The area is very nice and makes you feel part of a community. The beds were comfortable, the gathering room was very enjoyable to make plans for our upcoming day's adventures. The underground was a short walk and we were able to reach everything else from their. Thank you Fatijah for letting us use your home and I would recomend it highly. Kathy
We provide a street map of London that is yours to keep. The townhouse has a library of guidebooks and brochures on historical sights, museums, parks, restaurants, walks, pubs, and day trips that are not to be missed. We'll advise you on getting around by bus or tube, how to top up your travel card, a few lesser known sights of London, and a few of our favorite hole-in -the-wall restaurants. We also provide information on walks that we love and day trips to historic places an hour's train ride from London.
