Beautiful cabin on the river with over 8 acres, just downstream from the sportsman's pool. In the heart of salmon country. . Charming riverfront log home for fishing, snowmobiling, or just to get away and enjoy nature. The cabin sits up away from the river and a trail takes you to the salmon river, over 300 ft. of water frontage, very private but close to everything.Queen size bed in the loft and main floor bedroom ,a queen and a twin downstairs, along with a futon and pull out couch
The cabin is roomy and beautiful (the pictures do it justice BUT in person it is even nicer). Plenty of beds (including pull out sofa and a futon plus 3 queens and a twin in bedrooms/loft) It has a modern kitchen with many handy appliances, gas stove, coffee maker, dishwasher, etc. etc. and dishes, pots & pans and all you need to make a meal. Direct TV is great (watched the Olympics every night) and stereo (inside and outside which was cool). Wi-fi connection was a bit crazy at times but I did not want to work anyway and the kids hardly complained.
Things you may want to know:
1. Water is hard and has a sulphur odor. It won't hurt you at all. As my wife and I both grew up with water like this, it was not a big deal but may be a shock to some. Buy bottled water to drink/use for cooking (and coffee making) but for everything else the well water is fine. AND I must say, unlike other hard water I have experienced, soap lathering was not an issue.
2. The cabin was pretty well stocked with sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels of various sizes. a hair dryer, and a plethora of things left by previous renters (napkins, paper towels, spices, mustard... etc.) so you may want to wait until you arrive to buy a bunch of odds/ends.
3. THERE WERE NO BITING BUGS! Even at night. They flock to our kids wherever we are and no one got a single bite. Did not even hear them buzzing around.
4. Lake Ontario area/Oswego County (on the lake) is known for sunsets (so get to the lake) BUT at the Cabin, the show starts after dark - star gazing is awesome! You can see the Milky Way and we were lucky enough to be there for the start of the Perseid Meteor Shower.
The owner is super responsive and easy to deal with AND he clearly cares about the maintenance and upkeep of the Cabin.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cabin for one week during August, 2015. It has every luxury appointment you could ask for and is well maintained, yet its rustic location allows for that "outdoors" experience. Our morning coffee on the front porch was epic. And the owner, Greg, was truly a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend this special vacation rental.
This was our first time booking a vacation rental online. We were skeptical to trust the reviews as we know that not everything you read online is accurate. Once we began communicating with Greg, the owner, and then arrived at the the cabin and looked around, we knew right away that the reviews and comments we very accurate!
We are familiar with the Pulaski area as we have camped in a nearby site for many years. With a growing family that now includes three children between the ages of four months and five years of age, we were looking to find something that felt more like home yet was far away from the regular routines of being at home. This cabin did that and more! It had all the necessities that a family with (or without) children would need and added luxuries to make it feel like we were on a vacation. It was beautifully secluded, kid-friendly, and close enough to local attractions that we could enjoy a different activity (fishing, Salmon River Falls, museums and historical attractions, etc.) each day.
During our first night at the cabin, we were already thinking about friends and family that we could invite for future family vacations. More importantly, we were already considering a romantic getaway. (No kids allowed!) This cabin has all the bases covered in terms of who would enjoy a stay. From a guys hunting trip, ladies getaway (wine and relax), a couple's romantic retreat, to families with children of all ages, this cabin can meet all of your needs.
To make the entire experience even better, Greg was wonderful to work with. He was flexible, easy to communicate with and trustworthy. As I mentioned, this was our first time planning a vacation using an online source. We had many questions and he was patient and willing to answer them. This proved to be a situation where the reviews were accurate and insightful. We trusted others reviews and our gut instincts. In the end, it was a great vacation and one that we won't forget!
I dont know where to start! It was the best vacation! The cabin was so tastefully done. You felt right at home. It made you relax and take in all the beauty that surrounded you. I loved sitting on the front deck everyday just looking at all the birds and wildlife and hearing the river in the back flowing. The whole family thought the cabin was the greatest and just being on the river was a wonderful experience. We cant wait to go back. But most of all ...It was a pleasure doing business with Greg the owner. Very nice man.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Direct access to river from back yard. Spotless, beyond comfortable, meticulously maintained, near everything. 40 minutes to Hancock/Syr. airport. 90 minutes to Canada for lunch. Lake Ontario and its great sportfishing around the corner. Horseback riding and instruction nearby in Adams Center. Farmers market in Pulaski.
Without going into detail, couples might never leave the cabin; it's that romantic!
There was one problem. At the end of our stay, we had to leave!
Oh, and a marvelous owner!
The cabin was amazing and we would love to come again. the pictures that are on the website dont do it justice. The cabin was beautifully and tastefully decorated and had everything we could ever imagine we would need. My son and I enjoyed the lazy days on the couch and on the lawn outside while my husband, cousin and their friend had a great time fishing. My 10 year old cousin caught a 12 pound trout which was the highlight of his holiday to the US. It is definitely a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anybody.
Fishing on a world class river, great location on river, snowmobile trails nearby, stay on a great riverfront property in a beautiful log home on 8.6 acres
