This is the place to get away from it all: a comfortable 3 bdr modular home in the middle of 160 acres of ranchland foothills of the Rockies, borders 3500 acre Beauvais Lake Provincial Park. Nearest neighbor is a mile away - you'll see more deer than people here. Bike or hike trails on the property, or join Beauvais Park trails for longer treks, and take in gorgeous panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. If you want to go for a hike and not meet dozens of people on the trail, this is the place!
Fish, boat, swim, windsurf, kayak at nearby Beauvais Lake (20 min walk to lakeshore trail, 20 min drive to dock/fishing area). Within easy driving distance to fly-fish on Castle, Crowsnest, and Oldman Rivers. Visit Waterton Lakes Nat'l Park (40 km). See the Frank Slide at Crowsnest Pass, or Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump - both are easy half-day trips. OR just have a picnic by the stream, pick berries, bird-watch, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors on your own.
The nearby town of Pincher Creek has a great indoor pool with hot-tub and wading pool, a fitness center, as well as bowling lanes, squash courts, tennis courts, golf course, and movie theater. The Pincher Creek Fair and Rodeo is held on the third weekend in August and is well worth taking in if it fits your schedule.
This property is located adjacent to a wildlife sanctuary. Deer, elk, moose, are commonly seen, and bears and cougars do frequent the area. Hiking with bear-spray and bells is recommended.
SW Alberta can be very dry in the summer - fires are allowed only in the fire-pit; this may be subject to local fire bans in extremely dry conditions.
This is a non-smoking property.
Hunting, camping, ATV's and motorbikes are prohibited.
We had a wonderful stay, very comfy, private and surrounded by super-natural scenes. We loved the campfire and star-gazing in total darkness...you have a lovely home. We absolutely enjoyed staying here.
If you're looking for seclusion in beautiful countryside, this is the place for you. Plenty of activities for the family; great little hikes right outside the door; comfortable and clean. We stayed for a week with 9- and 12-yr olds who loved the quiet and the small basketball court. We also saw one brown bear, some deer, and even a snake--right on the property. And there were so many little birds, chirping and singing. We loved it.
It's a near-hour-long drive to Waterton Lakes National Park; we were happy to make it a couple times and even happier to come back to this secluded spot.
The one and only drawback for us was that the well water was quite sulphurous when we stayed and too soft for our liking. It was difficult to scrub oneself properly clean. However, it was fine for tea/coffee/soup and there was "town water" in jugs for drinking. Ultimately, it was a very small discomfort and the rest of the property more than made up for it.
Thanks, Donna and Sam, for a great place to stay!
Despite a somewhat remote location, Sam and Donna provided excellent directions on how to locate and access the property. The accommodation was ideal for our family including our adult children. Day trips to Waterton, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump etc were quite manageable. Sam and Donna had also compiled some excellent visitor info and readily answered our questions. We would definitely recommend this property to others traveling to this southern Alberta location
Everything was just as we expected. There was plenty of room for us 4 adults and 3 small children. The house is well stocked and clean, and the property is well kept (trails groomed, etc). Easy access to pincher creek and waterton. Beautiful views. We all loved it! The owners are quick to answer questions and offer any advice. Definitely recommend!
House had all the amenities we might require. Very clean and well-maintained. The property is wild and lovely with outstanding views. Paths are mown to allow walks. The owners visited briefly and were very friendly and helpful. A great place to get away from it all or take day trips to Waterton and Pincher Creek.
Want quiet? Want to get away from your hectic life? Well I can tell you this is the place to be stay. Remote location, clean well kept property. I was surprised at all the amenities considering how remote the location was (Land line, running water, power, washer & dryer, TV even cell phone signal) Great short hikes, lots of wild life to see if you are looking. Waterton park, a must see is only 30 minutes away. We were able to meet Sam and Donna, what wonderful people, so kind and genuine. Great mini vacation and very good value. Thanks. Roger & Lisa
We loved it! We stayed for 3 nights with 4 of our kids aged 14 - 18. We particularly loved the secluded nature of the location and the open vast views. We also enjoyed walking around the numerous paths from the house. We drove to Waterton one day and Glacier National Park the next (Going to the Sun road). Pincher Creek was close for groceries and we even went quadding by the Castle Mountain area. The house itself was terrific! We watched family movies at night and ate our own breakfasts in the fully stocked kitchen in the mornings. The bedrooms were spacious and everything was provided. A wonderful getaway spot we are planning to visit every year from now on! Thank you!
