Foothills ranch retreat - secluded, scenic, near Pincher Creek/Waterton Park

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, sleeps 6

This is the place to get away from it all: a comfortable 3 bdr modular home in the middle of 160 acres of ranchland foothills of the Rockies, borders 3500 acre Beauvais Lake Provincial Park. Nearest neighbor is a mile away - you'll see more deer than people here. Bike or hike trails on the property, or join Beauvais Park trails for longer treks, and take in gorgeous panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. If you want to go for a hike and not meet dozens of people on the trail, this is the place!

Fish, boat, swim, windsurf, kayak at nearby Beauvais Lake (20 min walk to lakeshore trail, 20 min drive to dock/fishing area). Within easy driving distance to fly-fish on Castle, Crowsnest, and Oldman Rivers. Visit Waterton Lakes Nat'l Park (40 km). See the Frank Slide at Crowsnest Pass, or Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump - both are easy half-day trips. OR just have a picnic by the stream, pick berries, bird-watch, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors on your own.

The nearby town of Pincher Creek has a great indoor pool with hot-tub and wading pool, a fitness center, as well as bowling lanes, squash courts, tennis courts, golf course, and movie theater. The Pincher Creek Fair and Rodeo is held on the third weekend in August and is well worth taking in if it fits your schedule.

This property is located adjacent to a wildlife sanctuary. Deer, elk, moose, are commonly seen, and bears and cougars do frequent the area. Hiking with bear-spray and bells is recommended.

SW Alberta can be very dry in the summer - fires are allowed only in the fire-pit; this may be subject to local fire bans in extremely dry conditions.

This is a non-smoking property.

Hunting, camping, ATV's and motorbikes are prohibited.

It exceeded our expectations and added a relaxed feel of home. It met all of our needs and more.

  • 5 of 5

This cozy, very clean home accommodated our family of 5 very well. With the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, we never felt crowded. The teens loved exploring on the property and even encountered moose and deer. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning coffee on the swing with the amazing panoramic mountain view. Having use of the BBQ allowed us to enjoy family suppers every night. The kitchen was very well stalked and there were lots of everyday things such as blankets, sunscreen, insect repellant and towels made available to us. After a long day of adventures, it was such a joy to come to a place like home. It made our accommodations a bigger part of our holiday. We would definitely consider returning but next time, for a longer stay.

Wilderness retreat for a quiet getaway. Close to parks and mountains and lakes!

  • 4 of 5

Great property in wilderness area. House is rustic but comfortable with outstanding and sweeping vistas of the prairies. You can close out the world in this tranquil spot! Beautiful night sky for star gazers. Good base for fantastic day trips to Waterton, Crowsnest Pass for hiking, and several lakes for kayaking or fishing.

Beautiful rural Alberta get-away!

  • 4 of 5

Sam and Donna have a lovely, peaceful, well maintained country property and home. You really do feel at home here with all the amenities you expect.

We enjoyed beautiful scenic hikes on and around the property and then from a myriad of supplied choices, usually settled on some “really serious” hoops on the basketball court right there in the yard.

Evenings around the outdoor open fire we just relaxed in the incredible quiet of the rural Alberta outdoors. A short scenic drive to beautiful Waterton Park capped off a wonderful few days.

We had a great get-away!

We stayed here for 4 nights in August and had a great time hiking and star gazing.

  • 5 of 5

There are so many trails on the property with beautiful views. We took a short drive into Waterton for more great hiking. There were just the two of us, but this house could easily accommodate easily six. It was a lovely holiday
