Our home is self contained with no additional rentals downstairs. It is nicely appointed island style with vaulted ceilings and fans throughout. The master bedroom, with its CA king size bed, has beautiful views of the mountains and waterfalls. There is a chaise chair in which to lay and read, view the mountains or enjoy a peaceful nap to re-energize yourself before exploring the island. The second bedroom with 2 twin beds has beautiful views of the mountains too. There is 1 bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The kitchen is fully equipped for creating great meals. There is a flat screen TV with over 40 DVD's. And yes, we provide free WiFi. We also include most beach gear like beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, coolers and umbrellas and even 2 bicycles. About Kirsten Loder

Our family resides in Carmel Valley, California. Beginning in the late 1970's, our family travelled to many of the Hawaiian Islands until finally visiting Kauai in 1983. My parents fell in love with Hanalei and finally were able to purchase their own piece of paradise in 1989. Our family has enjoyed Hanalei all these years. We are all still in love with this magical place. We hope you choose our home and beautiful property and fall in love with Hanalei as we have done. Mahalo nui loa for viewing our listing. Aloha, (Earl), Nancy, Kirsten and Lisa

Ideal Hanalei Family Beach Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This home was our sixth rental in Hanalei over the last 15 years and we would happily rent it again. It had everything we needed for our family of four with two kids under 10 and location can't be beat. You are both three minute walk to one of the best parts of of Hanalei Bay and at at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. The clean home was stocked with everything we needed to cook and the ample beach gear and boogie boards were greatly appreciated and well used. Only downside was that it was tough to get the kids' room cool at night after some very hot (even for Hawaii) summer days that lacked typical trade winds and rain. But, we improvised with some DIY techniques and it was never a problem. For those looking for luxury accommodations, go to the St Regis in Princeville or pay $1000+ a night in Hanalei. But for those who want an HQ for North Shore adventures, this house will do very well.

Loved this house!

  • 5 of 5

The location is superb and situated in a lovely neighborhood. I loved waking up to see the mountains and waterfalls. Close to the beach, quiet, tastefully decorated and very clean. I definitely want to come back again next year. Thank you Kristen!

Great Hanalei House

  • 4 of 5

This was our third trip to Hanalei and we finally found a perfect house for our family. Easy walk to the beach. Loved riding around on the "townies" and sitting on the front deck after a day at the beach. The house has all we needed (except a few more boogie boards)!

Older, outdated dirty and broken

  • 1 of 5

The place was, as advertised, near to the beach in a fairly quiet little cul de sac. That was the good news. The rest of the news is that it was dirty (bathroom unclean, carpets full of insects, stained old furniture that was uncomfortable, countertops scuzzy... We had rented the place to be near the beach but also because they said they had basic items like bikes and boogie boards and beach carts. These items were all broken down rusty old junk that weren't usable. Dishwasher didn't work and it fell to us to schedule repair person - who made mistakes and the first run overflowed all over kitchen. Dryer didn't work. No AC. Kitchen gear is lots of old plastic utensils and lots of plates and glasses - not for real cooking.

Agent happened to be staying in house next door and she assured us she would get new beach gear next day when she went to Costco in Lihue - she did not deliver. Agent assured us we could have couple hour late check out to accommodate a late flight departure and as no one was scheduled to stay at house for few days after we left. Once agent left though - she sent us a curt little e-mail saying no late check out. We called owner and she said yes to late check out and agent was wrong. Sheesh - this is not a property we would ever book again. It needs attention and deep cleaning.

Great location, 2 min walk to Hanalei bay beach

  • 4 of 5

Place was pretty much everything you need. Literally a 2 min walk to beach at the bay. There was laundry, gas grill huge king bed, everything you need in kitchen. The only thing that was a little disappointing was living room furniture. It was not very comfortable bamboo type couch and chair but I certainly wasn't there to hang out in the house. They had a couple of bikes for us to use as well as boogie boards , towels mask and snorkel a little cooler etc. it was a 7 min walk up to shops and bars etc. great house, great location, we had a blast and would certainly go back.
