Christmas in BA and a wonderful stay
The apartment was as pictured on the website. My husband and I spent seven days here over Christmas with our four children (ages 14, 19, 19, and 22). The kids loved having all of the room to spread out. It’s conveniently located with many restaurants, shops, and markets within easy walking distance. We were able to Uber from our apartment to the sight-seeing places further away. We even spent a day in Colonia, Uruguay, which was an easy boat ride away. Ruben was always available to answer our questions and recommended several good restaurants and fresh markets. Ruben arranged for us to have a driver to/from the airport, which was an added convenience. We highly recommend this place to stay in Buenos Aires.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review Will and Laura.
It is always so rewarding for Ruben, his helpers and for us to hear our guests have enjoyed their stay. We want to make things as perfect as possible and sometimes the unexpected can happen in BA. Ruben works very hard to make things run smoothly. It is a wonderful exciting city which never sleeps. Better visit again!
Apartment just as shown -- excellent service
Janet provided useful instructions via email a few days before we arrived. Ruben was punctual and informative about the apartment and the area. The location is great, with everything you need within a few blocks. The apartment itself is large, modern and airy. I will stay here again on future trips, I'm sure.
Thank you Jim for your review. We were delighted to host you and your guests. We do hope to see you again on your next visit to BA. It is always a pleasure to know our guests have enjoyed their stay.
Please keep in touch Best wishes Janet
Wonderful vacation, fabulous place to stay
Shared the vrbo with family and there was plenty of room for everyone. Beautiful and centrally located spot with easy access to shopping and public transportation. Our host was very accomadating and helpful.
We all enjoyed our visit to Buenos Aries!
Thank you Roberta for you kind words. Do come and see us again!
We are looking forward to going back in a few months. We love BA!
Great place to stay in Buenos Aires!
This apartment on Carlos Calvo is located in the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. Everything you need, restaurants, shopping, markets, entertainment, is all within easy walking distance. The property itself is huge, easily sleeping 6-10 people. The updating of the property has been perfectly done, each of the three bathrooms and the kitchen are beautiful. The beds were comfortable and easy to rest in.
San Telmo is a lively neighborhood and the property has many windows, so there is a lot of street noise during the day and early evening, but we had no problems through the night. We visited in early July, mid-winter in Argentina, so the weather was cool (~50 degrees) and very wet. The living room was quite chilly, but the bedrooms were well heated and very comfortable. Note that the apartment is up 3 flights of steep stairs, so make sure that everyone who is coming can handle the climb.
Ruben, the apartment manager, was a big help with arranging transportation as needed. He and the property owner made the experience very enjoyable. We had a great time.
Thank you Ty for the great review. It is always rewarding to know we are getting things right. Will try and address the warmth issue. Those lovely high ceilings are perfect for summer but are a big ask at this time of year. We hope you and your family come and see us again
Best wishes Janet and Roy
A really gorgeous apartment in Buenos Aires with many amenities and great service from Ruben.
This place has it all. Comfortable, spacious, modern and in a real neighborhood (San Telmo). Additionally, the owner (Janet) was extremely thoughtful and helpful in planning our stay and Ruben was very responsive in answering questions or even stopping by when asked. Having a washer and dryer is a huge advantage as is having two phones (US and local). The hot water in the upstairs bathroom was a little challenging at first, but once Ruben showed us what to do everything went just fine. I can heartily recommend staying in this top notch apartment.
This elegant, bright and airy San Telmo apartment is surrounded by antique shops, restaurants, and milongas (tango clubs). It's great for friends traveling together. The neighborhood: Old world charm meets trendy shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Located in the heart of the action - only a block from Plaza Dorrego (site of the famous Sunday Art and Antique Fair) - and three blocks from Puerto Madero (tons of waterfront restaurants, nightclubs, and even an Ecological preserve!). You can safely walk to everything. See our website at for a map and list of nearby restaurants and attractions. Other Activities: shopping, boating, spa, bicycling in nature reserve
