With 100 feet of Lakeshore, the cabin offers privacy, comfort, and gorgeous sunset views. Fishing and boating enthusiasts appreciate the private 40 foot dock and 4,000 pound boat lift in front of the cabin with quick access to Mille Lacs fishing hot spots on the bay and the big lake.
Relax with a good book on an Adirondack chair by the shore, roast marshmallows on the campfire as you watch the boats gather off Mazomonie Point for the evening walleye bite, or cozy up with your special someone on the log swing as you create long lasting vacation memories. The well-equipped kitchen has all you need to prepare gourmet meals. Enjoy the picturesque lake view as you dine in the dining room or choose patio seating on the lakeside deck. Take time for a leisurely game of croquet among the pines in the large backyard. Cool off in the water in an old-fashioned inner tube. Explore the many shops, restaurants, and attractions that our lake area offers.
Stone's Throw Chateau is the just the kind of lakeside cottage you've been hoping to find!
Following our wedding reception, my husband and I headed up to the Stone's Throw and were so pleased by the hospitality, the view, and the accommodations. It was cozy and beautiful! We enjoyed morning champagne on the swing, looking at the lake and evening fires snuggled up close listening to the leaves falling from the trees. The hosts were welcoming but then gave us our space to relax and enjoy. We golfed at Izaty's and hiked at Kathio State Park, it was incredible. We are looking forward to celebrating anniversaries up there for years to come! Thanks Stone's Throw!
My wife and I along with another couple stayed at Stone's Throw in early August. We couldn't have been more pleased! The owners are terrific, the cabin has everything you could ask for and having the lake 50 feet away made for some great mornings and evenings sitting on out the deck enjoying the view. The 4,000 lb. boat lift worked great for our 18' Glastron and the public landing was right around the corner.
A couple nights we jumped in the boat and took the short ride to Bay View. Nice restaurant with a full menu, outdoor seating and great pizza.
If you're looking for a lot of activity and like to be around crowds of people, I'd suggest staying at the Casino. However, if you're looking for a peaceful get-away, terrific hosts, and an immaculately clean cabin right on the lake at a very reasonable price, you can't go wrong staying here!
Clean, comfy, and a step away from the busyness of every day life. Sweet little cabin- Perfect place for 2, as we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary. Had the kids come join us for the last night, and they enjoyed it too. Quiet and relaxing- Loved the setting and the kind and gracious owners. Will be back!!
We had the best time staying at the Lakeview cabin for a long weekend with our 2 year old son. We arrived around 9:30 pm on Thursday night and Gene was there to greet us at the door. After we got our little one to bed we wanted to start a bonfire to begin our weekend but quickly realized that we had no paper. Gene disappeared for a minute then returned with a small bundle of newspaper that lasted us through our stay. Thus began a fabulous vacation with the kindest proprietors you could ask for! Gene and Karen simply exude warmth and hospitality and clearly took great pride in their gorgeous property.
The cabin was absolutely adorable and all the furnishings were clean and comfortable. I so appreciated that we were given a *huge* pile of fresh bath, hand and wash towels and the kitchen was stocked with a little bit of everything you need (pots, pans, wine glasses, soap, flatware, drinkware, silverware, etc). Whatever we didn't have we could easily pick up from the grocery store just a few miles down the road.
We spent most of the weekend swimming, lounging on the lawn swing, and cooking out on the charcoal & gas grills provided. We would totally recommend renting the pontoon boat for a spin out on the water. We went out for a mid-morning ride and it was worth every penny because our 2-yr old loved it. We would also recommend stopping by the Spirit Lake Pub and Patio (sit on the outdoor patio if you can!) in Wahkon and ordering their ribs. My husband said the meat practically fell off the bone and he wished he had ordered more. As an added bonus just two storefronts down from Spirit Lake Pub is an ice cream parlor were we picked up dessert (order caramelicious) which topped off the summer night perfectly.
Overall this vacation was absolutely wonderful and if we ever find ourselves in this neck of the woods again we will stay at Stone's Throw without hesitation. This location is wonderful for children of all ages and far, far, far superior than any hotel. We hope you enjoy staying here as much as we did!
We rented this sparkling clean cabin for 3 nights during the week in August 2014. This cabin was the perfect relaxing, getaway. There were four adults in this cabin, which is the max I would do even though it can sleep six. There is one bathroom, a kitchen, a living room with a sofa-sleeper, one bedroom with queen bed and another bedroom with two twin beds. The cabin came with every possible amenity: two grills (one gas, the other charcoal), a fire pit with wood pre-stocked, inner tubes for swimming, fishing poles for fishing, wifi Internet access and plenty of DVDs and books for a rainy or relaxing day. The cabin was nicely decorated inside and out. The cabin is 20 feet from the shore with sliding glass doors that open onto a large deck with a nice patio table and chairs. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watched loons and other wildlife swim by. Just steps away from the cabin is your own personal dock and boat lift. The cabin is located on the southern part of Mille Lacs Lake in a small bay. There is no beach at the cabin and the lake is rocky with some weeds, but the water is clear. We rented the owner's pontoon (nothing fancy but clean) which came with life jackets and fishing rods, and enjoyed the true-Minnesota lake experience touring Mille Lacs Lake and fishing in various spots. The cabin has a large, shaded yard. The owners live next door and popped by daily to make sure all our needs were met. We hope to return to this beautiful cabin some day soon!
Three friends and I stayed at this cabin for a few days after Memorial day weekend. We brought a couple of boats and got our fill of fishing. The amenities were very nice and the cabin was clean and very comfortable. The dock and boat lift were in good condition and served us well. I'm not sure how they did it but Gene and Karen supplied a couple of fantastic weather days and talked the fish into cooperating because we caught our fill. The cabin is easy to get to if traveling from the Twin Cities area. All in all we felt it was a very nice place at a reasonable price.
Fantastic fishing location. Gorgeous sunsets. Near 2 state parks, golf courses, Soo Line bike/ATV trail, museums, movie theater, casino, and bait and tackle shops.Just a few blocks to Cove Bay public access and a lakeside restaurant.
