The Fryeburg Fair is Maine's largest fair and has been in existence since 1851. In addition to the Fryeburg Fair there there are festivals and fairs in Camden, Boothbay, and York Village. Spectacular fall foliage and mountain scenery abound. This annual spectacular will not disappoint you. The colorful foliage begins in mid-September and works its way south until the end of October.

Adventure from our cottage to the nearby towns of Boothbay, Bethel, and Kennebunkport and enjoy the foliage and the charm of these towns.

Enjoy the fun, "The way life should be".

We invite you to enjoy some of the spring events that celebrate life, great food, nature, art, festivals, fun, and relaxation. Our cottage is located on Sebago Lake, the seventh cleanest lake in the world and the home of the land-locked salmon. The cottage is conveniently located forty minutes from Portland, a city with fabulous restaurants

and opportunities to take whale watching and island tours. We are also within driving distance to Boston, New Hampshire, Boothbay, Kennebunkport,

L.L. Bean, and several outlet malls. Just like the spring bulbs burst into color, spring brings color to Maine. The possibilities are endless:

Hike, bike, and enjoy the outdoors.

Old Port Festival.

Boating and fishing.

About Marian

Marian and Bob Wright are proudly pictured with some of their grandchildren.

Marian purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Marian chose Sebago Lakes Region

We take great pride in our cottage and keep it in immaculate shape and clean. Another one of our goals is to supply guest renters with an experience greater than what they expected.

The cottage is located on an acre of land with lots of flowers and a grassy lawn. There's a sandy beach and a deep-water dock for a boat.

We bought this property because it borders our next door home. Waterfront properties such as this don't come on the market frequently. Plus it has a beautiful view and is a level acre of land.

What makes this cottage unique

We consider this location on Big Sebago Lake as 'Paradise', which is why our home is located next door.

Please read the many reviews by guests who have stayed at the cottage.

Due to our guests' allergies we do not allow pets or smoking in the cottage or on the property grounds. Marian and I personally clean the cottage, and groom the flower beds to make things as tidy and attractive as possible. The lawn is mowed by a service company usually on a weekly basis or as needed. The neighborhood is very quiet therefore only a maximum of 6 people are allowed on the property or in the cottage at any time.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Bob and Marian - We had a great week and did everything we planned to do !! It was perfect from start to finish. We loved the cottage, the welcome gift, and pie and ice cream. Our plan was to fish all week and we did just that. I caught my biggest fish right off the dock - 2 very nice size small mouth Bass!! We'll be sending you via email the pictures. We've always wanted to do a fishing guide trip and we can't say enough about "Rocky Ridge Guide Service". (We left his brochure in your things to do brochure box on the coffee table). We fished for lake trout on Sebago Lake with Captain Carl Bois. He was the best ! Between us we caught 17 lakers. We would highly recommend him.

What a way to start the summer !!

Welcoming and comfy and great location!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous from the moment you drive up to the cute cottage with the colorful welcoming flowers that shows the owners care to the unbelievable location on Sebago Lake with boat you can't ask for much more than that. But when you go inside you do get more! Homemade blueberry & ice cream and a surprise gift. Wonderful hosts.

A relaxing two weeks on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We had another wonderful stay at the cottage. Our girls are 4 and 2.5, and they thoroughly enjoyed the private beach and grassy lawn. The home is kept immaculately clean, and the gardens are just a pleasure. The hosts are warm and make sure everyone is well taken care of. We will return next year!

This was our first time at the cottage and we were pleasantly surprised! It is beautiful, well stocked and spotless! We also enjoyed the lemon meringue pie. We spent a lot of our time on the private beach. My kids, age 12 and 5, had a blast. We did a couple of day trips, and are familiar with the area. We loved that it was close to everything, yet so quiet and secluded. We would definitely stay here again!

Serene and Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming here for several years with our granddaughters and never tire of this lovely spot. The cottage is always immaculate, well stocked, and you can count on a pie waiting for you in the refrigerator. The owners always greet us and make us feel welcome. The large manicured lawn and beautiful flower gardens make sitting outdoors a pleasure. When we tire of swimming, we fish off the dock, go boating, or just relax on our private beach. The view by the waters edge is wonderful and this year we watched fireworks around the lake from the comfort of our lawn chairs!! Shopping and eating out are nearby when we want it and this pleases our teenagers. If you prefer to BBQ, a grill is located on the beach. All in all, this rental property offers us everything we are looking for. When we are here we want for nothing and arrive home rested and happy with memories of another vacation well spent.

Owner's Response: Dear Chris and Ralph, Thank you for your kind review. This is the fourth year you and your granddaughters have spent two weeks with us. We look forward to your arrival each year. This year the weather was picture perfect almost every day. We also enjoyed seeing the fireworks display right from our beach. It was a great show, and it beats trying to find a parking space and spending time in traffic trying to watch the displays in the neighboring towns. We also want to thank you for the nice way you left the cottage. It is really appreciated. Bob and Marian Wright

Quiet peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Probably the best VRBO rental we have ever done. The cottage was beautifully furnished and spotless clean. We especially enjoyed the rocking chairs outside right on the lake. The "super" moon came up one night right over the lake and was spectacular. The cottage was centrally located so we did day trips for a week and visited the coast of Maine and the mountains of New Hampshire within a one hour drive. The owners, Marian and Bob, provided some excellent tips for travel and spots to eat. All were excellent choices. They also provided blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream for us to snack during the week. Overall one of the best vacations we have ever had.

Owner's Response: Dear Wilma and Andy - We are so appreciative that you took time to write such a nice review. We worried about your return home in the midst of the terrible floods, and we were so pleased when you phoned us to say you had arrived safely. We are delighted you had such a great stay, and we thank you for sharing your experiences in Maine. We look forward to your next trip to Maine. Best, Marian and Bob

Paradise Found!!

  • 5 of 5

After a several hour drive from Connecticut we arrived at our cottage. We were immediately drawn to spectacular Sebago Lake. After a few moments we turned to unpack the car and were welcomed by Bob and Marian. Bob said "Welcome to Paradise". Within 24 hours we knew exactly what he was talking about. The cottage was pristine. We walked in to an overflowing vase of flowers and a fresh baked blueberry pie in the fridge. Oh and I can't forget the vanilla ice cream to go with it. We brought my 14 year old daughter and niece. They loved hanging out in the loft and on the lake. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The perfect retreat from our crazy lives of nonstop running. We are hoping to go back next year. The cottage, yard and view are better than pictured! We made many memories that we will cherish for a very long time.

Owner's Response: Linda - Thank you for the nice review. Bob and I feel so fortunate that our cottage is located on beautiful Sebago Lake and the views from our property are magnificent. Most of the renters venture down to the beach even before they enter the cottage. When our families have preteen or teenagers they always mention how the kids enjoyed the loft. It seems to be a private cozy place to relax, read, play games, or just talk. Our guests often comment about the pie and ice cream They seem to provide a nice break between unpacking and heading out for food. We appreciate your leaving the cottage so clean, and we are pleased that you'll be with us again next August. Bob and Marian Wright
