Ewa Cottage Rental Photos and Description

SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)

2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage.

Clean, quiet, and furnished with island style.

This is a small cottage right on the beach, with a nice fenced in grass area. It is not for party people. We do not want renters that will bring any negative attention/actions to our house or neighbors. I have more pictures on request. We are 15 minutes away from the new Disney Hawaii Resort.

The house is not located in a tourist area, so if you are looking for night life, restaurants with in walking distance, this is not the house. It is located in a residential area, on the beach, where it is very beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing. All the pictures are taken from the house and yard.

Wonderful beach front gem

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful gem of a cottage, in a lovely quiet part of Ewa Beach. It comes fully equipped with everything that you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

The location is wonderful - we couldn't believe how we were actually on the beach - and walked steps each day to go straight onto the sand, with a view of distant Diamond Head, and the ocean stretching out on both sides. The sunsets are spectacular, and it was wonderful to wander along the shore while the sun was slowly descending into the West.

Our favourite feature was being able to leave the bedroom windows open in the evening so the sound of the waves lulled you to sleep. Although the cottage came with a/c in each of the bedrooms, we hardly used it, and preferred the ceiling fans.

We didn't want the high rises of downtown, and chose to stay away from the hustle and bustle. The cottage was perfect for getting away from things, but yet close enough to shopping malls and grocery stores if you needed to pop out for essentials or a quick trip.

As others have noted, some parts of Ewa Beach look a little run down, but the cottage is behind a gate, and we found the neighbours to be very friendly.

There's everything you need inside the cottage to have relaxing holiday, and we stayed before the kitchen was remodelled - the pictures look amazing!

Pam was incredibly helpful through the booking process, left us detailed instructions and lots of tips and hints about the villa - I can't thank her enough for her help.

Overall, this a lovely property in a dream location, and if you're searching for somewhere quiet and relaxing on the leeward side of O'ahu, away from the tourist resorts, look no further.

Two Weeks in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

I lived in Hawaii for 5 years and graduated from a high school in Ewa Beach. I have come back a few times for reunions. This time my girlfriend and I decided to rent this beautiful cottage during our reunion and are so glad we did. We felt comfortable and relaxed. It is on the beach, but near shopping and not far from H1, which will take you anywhere. We walked the beach each morning at sunrise and sat on the deck or in the grassed yard until sundown. You have a view of Diamond Head from the backyard along with the sound of waves which will lull you to sleep. We had friends over and found we needed nothing due to a fully stocked kitchen with up-to-date appliances. You will find the Aloha spirit around the island, but it definitely begins when you walk through the door at the cottage. We will return for another reunion, and when we do, we will make sure to make early reservations for this beautiful cottage again. I can't imagine staying anywhere else now. Mahalo for having such a great rental for us all to enjoy!

GREAT beach property

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days and will definitely return. The cottage is older, however, is super comfortable, clean, and ON THE BEACH! The kitchen has been remodeled with plenty of space to prepare meals. For us the main attraction was the beach, the view and not being in the middle of a tourist area. Our family lives close by and we had a nice time playing on the beach, enjoying the yard, and hunting for shells especially with the three little ones. While I was familiar with the neighborhood, one who isn't may be a bit hesitant upon their arrival as there is a burned out house on the corner. Don't let this deter you. First of all the property is gated, but even if it wasn't the neighbors are all super friendly. They did keep me up one night with their laughing and all, but they weren't being wild and they were just having a good time. Ear plugs worked great. The bedrooms both have A/C, but like a previous reviewer mentioned we never used them -- the ceiling fans were enough for us. The second bedroom has two twin beds and there is a full size futon in the family room. There are several places to eat nearby -- lots of places with local food as well as plenty of chain restaurants. Safeway is very close for groceries and there's a Costco in Kapolei (15 min drive). If you're interested in going to a more protected beach nearby, Ko'Olina has some lagoons that are accessible to the public (#2 and #4, I believe). Finally, everyone associated with this rental was VERY responsive and helpful. From the owner to the housekeeper to the maintenance person -- all were GREAT. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed.

A perfect hidden getaway

  • 5 of 5

First off our stay was great. The cottage is situated behind a gate at the end of the neighborhood and right up against the beach so if you leave the windows open you can hear the waves crashing on the sand. For us the location was perfect since we did not plan on going out to Waikiki at all. It is about 30 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes to Ko'olina. But you really don't have to even leave the cottage to enjoy the beach because it is right there and they have everything you will need. Snorkels, boards, BBQs and plenty of beach.

The week we went the waves were pretty choppy so we didn't let our 3 y/o daughter go into the water but she seemed to enjoy playing on the sand or running into the surf most of the time. I don't know if the waves are like that all year round but families should be aware it can be a choppy. With that said, I saw local children swimming, body boarding and simply relaxing on tubes on the rough water.

As for the place, it was charming. Plenty of ceiling fans to keep you cool with A/Cs in the bedrooms. We didn't use them because the fans were enough to keep us cool. The kitchen and living area had a very open floor plan so you can dine, cook and lounge around together. And if your family gets on your nerves you can walk outside and enjoy the beach.

When outside the view is amazing. There are plenty of coconut trees that offer shade. One thing to know about the beach is that the cottage and adjacent property have a retaining wall (4-5 feet) to prevent erosion so you either need to climb down to the beach or hop over the side. What that does though is create a nice even beach for you and the family to enjoy.

It was great trip and won't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Pam!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed description of the house and beach. The condition of the ocean is dependent on the winds, which change direction often in the Islands. We have been at the house, when the ocean is like a bay for days on end. Also, the wall is normally 3 feet above the sand, but the hurricanes did a little more sand movement this past fall. Nature is always on the move in Hawaii.

Awesome Cottage!!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in this great little cottage. The trees have definitely done a lot of growing since the pictures were taken :). Beautiful beach, and great views! The cottage is small and old, but the new kitchen is wonderful and the lanai was a beautiful place to sit in the evenings, even with the locals all hanging out in the empty lot next door. We both had a very relaxing vacation and would definitely consider choosing this spot for the 2 of us again! Thanks Pam for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

I'm not sure how to describe this cottage except to say it was perfect! We stayed with my son, his wife, and my amazing one year old grandson. This little cottage suited the five of us nicely. The white picket fence was pretty and very handy in containing our little maniac and he was able to run around the grass all day without a single sticker burr. We were very lucky to be the first to stay after Pam and her husband had completely remodeled! The kitchen is beautiful with all new stainless top-of-the-line appliances and the floors and counter tops are all gorgeous! The airconditioning in the bedrooms were the finishing touch for us. A cool place to put the baby (and me) down for a nap was sweet! We walked straight through to the spacious patio and our own private amazing white sand beach! We kept posting pics on facebook and all our friends were amazed and wanted the info! All the reviews are accurate, if understated. I’ve been to Hawaii four times in two years and this was the absolute best!!! Thank you, Pam! We’ll be back!
