About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8, 6 adult max)

Sit back and relax in front of oversized windows framing incredible views of the San Francisco Peaks. Located on the desirable west side of town, our house is two minutes from some of the best hiking and biking trails in the area, yet only five minutes from downtown Flagstaff and ten minutes from NAU. The designer decorated home features comfortable bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, and tons of space for the whole family. Parks, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and trails are all in walking distance. We provide maps of mountain bike and hiking trails, local information, and sightseeing and restaurant recommendations.

Use our home as a base for wonderful adventures or enjoy simply soaking in the views. You'll find yourself delightfully cool in the summer (elevation over 7000 feet). In the winter enjoy the fact that the entrance to Snowbowl is only three miles away. Stay once and you'll understand why this is such a special getaway for our family.

The home sleeps 7-8 persons with four bedrooms (6 adult maximum): Master bedroom with king bed; Bedroom Two with a king bed; Bedroom Three with two twins; and Bedroom Four with a twin bed and twin trundle beneath.

About Becky Youman

We love being outdoors in Flagstaff.

Becky Youman purchased this house in 2005

Why Becky Youman chose Arizona

Northern Arizona is so special with its mountains, pines, and four seasons. Flag is a wonderful, laid-back town. It's a college town so there are lots of cultural activities and plenty of good restaurants. We can enjoy an amazing variety of scenery within an hour of our house, including the Grand Canyon, Navajo Nation, and Sedona. Mountain biking and hiking are two of our passions and Flag is the best spot in Arizona for those pursuits.

What makes this house unique

Our house has fantastic views of the San Francisco Peaks. It is also quite large and comfortable, with a back patio that can seduce you for hours. If you want to hike or bike, you can access great trails within a mile of our house or even go into Flag's fun downtown on the urban trail.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was so wonderful. Love the view, very comfortable, close to everything. Great family weekend visiting NAU.

Spacious house for ski trip!

  • 4 of 5

In a last min whim, our family decided to take advantage of some epic ski conditions one weekend. The owner was extremely quick in responding to us at the last min, and her large 4 bedroom house accommodated our large daily at a price that was cheaper than the hotels! The location is perfect for getting up to Snowbowl(or anywhere on the NW side of Flag or getting to the Grand Canyon) and it saved us time by not having to drive through downtown. We would recommend staying here to anyone with large family, multiple families, or a small group that would enjoy the peaceful residential neighborhood and a spacious house with a backyard for kids to play and a fantastic view of the peaks, while still being close to town or the mountain!

Perfect location for a ski trip

  • 4 of 5

This was our first stay in Flagstaff and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is conveniently located if you want to ski or board at Snowbowl. Our adult children could drive 10 minutes and were then already on the slopes. The house was immaculate on check in. It has a beautiful view of the mountain in the family room. The garage is perfect for the ping pong table. There's plenty of room to play ping pong and was not too cold to sit and spectate. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and every utensil you may need. Everything is labeled so you know where to find what you need. It also has a large table for the family to gather for games or dinner. The beds are comfortable and it is nice to have the master bedroom on the bottom floor so we did not have to go up and down the stairs. You do have to contend with the noise of anyone walking upstairs but it's probably typical for a 2 story. Becky was great to work with and responded quickly to correspondence. If you are going to stay, review the book to see when the garbage and recycle cans need to be put on the street as you'll get a charge for each if you don't put them out. I'm sure this is just so the next renters won't have full garbage cans on arriving. The wi-fi is great, the appliances are well maintained and Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer are awesome. The house is close to town for shopping or eating at one of the wonderful restaurants there. A negative for us is that the house does not have a fireplace but if you don't like a fireplace or don't care either way, this one's for you. There was also a neighbor's dog that barked incessantly for 48 hours. I know from reading the guest book that other renters had the same issue with the barking so it's probably not a new issue. If you're sensitive to noise, you might want to bring some ear plugs. Overall, this is a great house with a lot of upgraded features and comfortable furniture for the price and size.

Owner's Response: Thanks for such a detailed review. We love to hear what our renters think so that we can work to make the experience even better in the future. We too wish that the house had a fireplace. They didn't build it with one for some reason and there is just no good spot for an aftermarket one -- believe me we have tried to figure it out. I guess with Flagstaff being so vulnerable to fires it may not be the worst thing not to have one. I am sorry to hear about the dog noise. There was some noise during one renter's stay a few months ago, but we talked to the neighbor and worked that out. I am curious if perhaps another neighbor got a dog. We will investigate on both sides to figure it out. I am not okay with noise. I wish that you had called me -- I would have called the neighbors immediately. Anyway, I'm glad that overall your stay was very positive and hope to have you back some time.

We had a wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this rental was fabulous. It was super easy to book. Becky is incredibly responsive and helpful. The house was exactly as represented, lovely views, very clean, and many amenities. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the cozy family room. It was also very convenient to skiing, just a 15 minute drive. Finally, Becky was prompt in returning our deposit. Thanks for everything.
