Chris Hill purchased this cottage in 1988
When I purchased my 2 bed/2 bathroom historical home in 1988, I had a vision of renting it out as a cottage rental, so that my guests could enjoy this utterly charming historical cottage. I've been updating and renovating the property on an ongoing basis.
I choose to live in Niagara on the Lake because I found an enchanting town that had everything I was looking for such as: beauty, historical buildings, green space, peace and quiet, culture, theatre, great restaurants, wine, shopping, bicycle paths, and Lake Ontario to swim in.
I am surrounded by historical buildings and found the town to be where I always wanted to retire to. I wanted to live and work from my home.
The cottage is 5 minutes from the town centre of Niagara on the Lake, and a 15 minute drive to Niagara Falls.
Swimming in Lake Ontario is 10 minutes away.
Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us this weekend. We enjoyed the special amenities you had chosen for us. That was a sweet and special touch. We look forward to returning next year. On a scale of 1-10 it's a definite 10++. We'll be back.
Our thanks again,

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere beautiful for our 30th wedding anniversary and we found it at "Wishing Well" Even in the middle of winter the garden was stunning-imagine a walk in a natural reserve and you understand.
The cottage itself was a dream-I felt completely at home as soon as I walked in the door. Everything was there for our comfort, and I mean EVERYTHING.
Chris who helped me with the booking was wonderful and I can't thank her enough.
We will be returning this summer and bringing my mother who will love it as much as we did.
Very neat place to stay. It beats a lot of the big chain hotels in Niagara On The Lake. Coordination was seamless for check-in and check-out. Extremely clean. Very satisfied and would definitely stay there again.
Very Cozy Cottage in Niagara on the Lake
An awesome stay, full kitchen and BBQ! Will definitely be back in the Spring!
We recently booked this cottage in August 2015. The specific problem we encountered was a interior odor problem for the entire 2 days we were there. It did force us to limit our time in the cottage but on the plus side we did see much more of the lovely town, but will not return.
We had a great stay at this lovely cottage. The beds were so comfortable and we appreciated having a full kitchen to cook our meals. We used the BBQ in the back yard which was handy plus the (Gennair) BBQ in the kitchen. I loved the garden, so unusual I thought I was up in North Ontario and there were so many areas to sit and enjoy all the flowers and birds.
I highly recommend this cottage for anyone who is looking for a great getaway in Niagara.
We'll be back in December later on this year for the Christmas Candle Light Stroll.
Thanks for a great stay!!
We stayed at cottage in August 2015 and upon entering the place had a terrible odor which lasted the entire 2 days we were there. The smell was so bad we would leave early in the AM and stay out as late as possible to avoid the odor. On the plus side we did see more of the lovely town, but that strong cottage odor was a real problem. Would not recommend based on our stay.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a town in southern Ontario, Canada. It is principally known for its proximity to Niagara Falls, but has a rich history unknown to most Americans.
The town was the site of multiple battles during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, and many buildings from that era still exist in restored form. The surrounding region benefits from rich soils, which have lead to booming fruit and wine industries.
Wine tours are very popular with tourists, and the Niagara Wine Festival (September 19-28) is a draw for enthusiasts the world over. Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most famous attraction is the Shaw Festival, a six-month (April-November) theater festival celebrating the works of George Bernard Shaw and his close contemporaries.
