Great location and very roomy

Clean and very comfortable. Great kitchen, dining area and living room to hang out at night. Multiple porches and just a few steps from the beach.

Very tired rental that needs attention

  • 1 of 5

We often stay in rental homes with our family and were very disappointed with this one. Our disappointment started with the property manager who didn't return our emails or phone calls on the day of arrival. I don't have record of her sending a welcome email with instructions, but even if she did and I lost it, she should have responded to our multiple distress calls. In the end, we found an open door and let ourselves into the home. Once inside, we found a welcome letter from the owner that had been left behind by a recent renter. We followed those instructions and contacted another person on the island who was able to get in touch with the property manager. The property manager did then email us with the move in instructions stating that she had mailed them previously. Then, we began to take a look at the house. We found multiple lights burned out. Several of the curtains have been taken down along with the rods, however, the brackets remain on the walls. The arm on the brown chair pictured in the living room was broken and most amazingly, the toilet seat in the master bath was broken. There was no longer a lid and the seat was actually broken off and sitting on the bowl. I can certainly overlook the water stain in the living room which was likely the result of the recent hurricane, but the general disrepair of the home was not acceptable. We paid a fair price in the off season, so we expected a home that was at least clean and ready for our visit. I recommend waiting until the owner prioritizes repairs and maintenance before renting this home.

A nice beach property

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here at the end of September 2017 and it was unseasonably hot for that time of year. When we got there, the downstairs A/C was not working. We were there almost 48 hours before it was fixed. The property manager gave us 2 days back on our rental and arranged for us to stay in another home for 1 night.

The house is great on the inside, newly decorated and very roomy. The kitchen is small, not suitable if you plan to do a lot of cooking for a crowd.

The property description is somewhat misleading because the property is not actually inside Wild Dunes. Also, although the description states wireless internet service as an amenity, it is not guaranteed according to the rental agreement we had to sign. We had no problems except getting the right password.

Overall, a good vacation just not the relaxation we were looking for.

Great house, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house and its location. Walked everywhere we wanted to go within the resort and to the beach as well. The marina was a great resource for activities----we choose creek fishing, parasailing and paddle boarding. Went into Charleston for sight seeing and dinner each night. Such a fun week!
