Gianpiero purchased this villa in 1995
As the 4 bedrooms, lounge and kitchen are facing the central courtyard, you dont feel lost even if you are living alone or as a couple in it (no long and/or dark corridors, no stairs separating living and sleeping area...)

We staid in the villa in July 2011. This was our third stay in this marvellous place. We visited with our daughters and their families and had a lovely time. The area is very interesting, the house is excellent, and the hosts are just great.
We had a wonderful week at Villa Buglioni which is situated in the most beautiful part of the coast, near Cascais, Sintra and our favorite beach Guincho. Just around the corner you find the beautiful way to Sintra where its also nice to take a walk or hike. The house was very well equipped, clean and really nice. The indoor pool was just as nice as it looks on the pictures. It can be windy at Azoia so it was excellent that the pool was indoor and could be used all the time. When we arrived the owner had made a very nice basket with wine, bread, egg, tea and coffee. A pleasant surprise. The owner, Gianpiero was very helpful with ideas what to do in the surrounding and he made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend this house. Sofia Mattsson, Göteborg Sweden
Beautiful, wonderful villa. It was much more better than we hoped.
Large rooms, perfect interior, everything you need is there.
The host is very friendly and helpful. He is always there when you need him, but at other times completely unobtrusive.
Wonderful place and very attentive owner.
We stayed for a week, with 3 young kids and 2 grandparents - we all had a fantastic time - and wish we could have stayed for longer. The place could not be more highly recommended.

We arranged a family reunion with my brother and his wife from Australia and other siblings. We booked the villa because it catered for this type of group, each having their own en suite facilities. The villa was spacious, tastefully decorated and was well equipped with a hugh range of kitchen equipment. There are several good restaurants in the village, all within walking distance (not all of them are listed on review sites) We considered own transport essential , although their is a regular bus service to Sintra.
The only issue that may be a problem for some( ie sun worshippers) is a seemingly constant Atlantic breeze, however a short drive to Cascais takes you to miles of excellent beaches.
The owner Gianpiero could not be more friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our break away especially leaving a typically wet UK Summer. We would highly recommend a visit.
What a fantastic stylish and comfortable villa and a lovely warm greeting by the owners.Fantastic location for Caiscais ,Sintra and the amazing beaches. We all had a fabulous holiday and hope to return again next year.
Very efficient and thorough booking process resulted in those who self drove arriving before the local taxi driver. Gianpiero very customer oriented and genuinely wants to help make your stay perfect. The Villa is quite traditional and very spacious and is populated with numerous curios and collections no doubt added over the last few decades. Families with small children (ours are 7, 11 & 14) should bear in mind that many of these are easily accessible, plus the internal layout has numerous low level stairs and hard floors. Villa feels like you are staying in someone's home. Pool (in October) was cold but served for a bracing dip on a number of occasions. First class beaches are a mere 10 minutes away. Village has excellent restaurants and locals are very welcoming. Lovely part of the world.
Care Hire is recommended.
The location - a genuinely unspoilt farming village - is called Azoia and located above Cabo da Roca, overlooking the ocean; in an area where you can visit historical places, villages and towns, rich in works of art, from which you can easily reach in a 25 minute drive either the towns of Sintra, Estoril or Cascais, the well known fishing resort town, as well as several beaches and golf courses. The village is hanging on the wooded hill of the Serra de Sintra, also known as Serra da Lua 'The Moon Mountain;' The coast is 1.2 Km away and offers spectacular scenery with Cabo da Roca (most western point of Continental Europe on a 140 m high cliff) and big sandy beaches (magnificent Ursa beach (ca. 30 Min. walking distance); Adraga beach (10 min drive) was ranked as one of the ’20 perfect European beaches’ by the Sunday Times; Guincho beach) partly stretching out below cliffs.
Other Activities: bird watching
Golf: There are several golf courses within 10 km radius, 6 full length golf courses are within 20 min drive. These include Penha Longa which is only 15 minutes away, the famous Estoril Golf Club, Quinta da Beloura near Sintra and Clube de Campo at Belas, north of the Royal Palace at Queluz. Next to Penha Longa are the practice facilities of the Academia International de Golf. In Cascais you have the Quinta da Marinha Golf Club and the Quinta da Marinha Oitavos Club (10-15 minutes drive). Visitors are welcome everywhere.
