About Djuna Perkins

I am a lawyer living near Boston with my husband and three children, but I grew up in Woodstock, New York.

Djuna Perkins purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Djuna Perkins chose Sherwood Forest

Living and working in the city, I missed the country and thought the best way to teach my kids to care for the earth was to make sure they had a place where they could actually see and appreciate the natural world, and where we could all get away from the madness of the electronic world.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is an incredibly restful place. From the breeze on the screened porch to the unbelievable stars and the air at night, to the simplicity of its furnishings, it is just the place to get away from it all and remember who you are.

Truth In Advertising

We stayed at the end of June and were delighted to find the cabin as advertised; clean, neat and with every convenience but, thankfully, with no Internet. Enjoyed the canoe and the many cultural offerings nearby. The owners put a great deal of thought into their home, and it shows. Reasonably priced in a funky, eclectic development. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet, cozy cabin near the lake

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I loved our stay here at Djuna's cabin. The information about the rental that we received after booking was very thorough & helpful. It's conveniently located near (about 20 minutes) many shops/ restaurants in Lee, Ma. We went hiking, canoeing, and swimming. It was a very peacegul & relaxing weekend!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin very much. It is in a lovely natural setting, close to the lakes and many things to do in the Berkshires. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

charming. Perfect base camp for Jacobs Pillow

We really enjoyed Djuna's home. Cozy, comfortable, well outfitted (even beach chairs and a canoe.). The front porch is an especially nice place to enjoy the Berkshire air.

Wonderful cabin retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Excalibur. It's very cozy and well equipped, and we appreciated the short walk to the lake and canoe. Djuna left us plenty of helpful information and advice. Aside from some minor complaints like the grill being fiddly and the front door getting stuck often, it was a perfect experience. We would definitely return!
