We live in Naples Florida and love to vacation on the lake.
Greg purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Greg chose Topton
Secluded and out of the way. No traffic and very low lake traffic make this the perfect getaway from it all. Relax easy or play hard it's your choice here at Serenity cove.
What makes this Cabin unique
Lake Nantahala is one of the most beautiful low traffic lakes in the USA. Try us out you won't be disappointed.

A great Guys Trip
My son and 2 grandsons had a wonderful week at Greg’s property. It was everything we expected and more. Well stocked with essentials and very clean. The fireplace near the dock was a great treat. Also the tubes were an added extra THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL STAY. STEVE
Perfect location for family vacation
The house was magnificent! Greg was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. The house was very clean (thank you Maria!)
Beautiful mountain cabin
Everything was wonderful for us from the moment we arrived. We had 5 people and plenty of room. We rented a pontoon boat, paddled in the kayaks, roasted marshmallows in fire pit and enjoyed the pool table. It takes a bit getting used to no cell service but everyone survived. It was nice. We would love to come again.
Lake house with Mt View
This house has it all. Views of lake and Mt from every room. Well decorated in a rustic log cabin decor— yet well appointed with all of today’s amenities. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve meals for our crew of 8. Eat at a large dining room table, on the massive wrap around deck, or around the fire pit by the lake. Plenty of TVs, games, access to cable or Netflix and WiFi. The pool table on the lower level gave us a game option on a rainy afternoon. The hot tub is large enough for four adults and is perfectly positioned to view the lake while you relax. The lake was very quiet the week we visited. Rarely saw more than a handful of boats on the lake. This made for peaceful kayaking. The dock is situated in a cove, so even if there were lots of boat traffic on the lake, the cove would remain peaceful. The kids swam in the cove area. There are a couple of places you can rent motorboats— we rented a large pontoon boat from Lakes End Marina. Very reasonable prices and because the house has a dock we were able to rent it overnight and keep it at the house. I highly recommend getting a motorboat—the lake is large, beautiful, and well worth exploring.
The location of the house is secluded. Bring all the food you need for your stay so you don’t have to make the 25 min trek back to civilization. But if you do have to make that trek, there is a full service “Ingles” grocery store in town, Walgreens pharmacy, a little ice cream shop and a handful of restaurants.
We are traditionally beach vacationers, so this was a new venture for us. At the end of the week it was a unanimous vote that we would do this again.
Greg is the owner and he was very easy to work with and super responsive. We had a little trouble getting the WiFi working when we arrived. Within ten minutes of me reaching out to Greg for help, he had a three way call going between the network provider, himself, and me. It was fixed by the time we hung up ten minutes later. He had a maintenance crew out to do some landscape work but he let us know what was going on and scheduled them around our activities. Greg was very easy to work with.
There are plenty of nearby recreation options from hiking, horseback riding, zip lines, rafting and of course the lake. We took a day to visit Asheville and the Biltmore Estates—a two hour drive through the beautiful Nantahala Forest. It was nice to see Asheville but in the end it was a day away from the peaceful lake.
I am very happy to hear you had a great time please try us again soon.
Best bang for the buck
This was such a great retreat for our family! I loved all the little extras to do while reconnecting as a family... hot tub, firepit down by the lake, card/board/pool table games, fishing (poles provided) kayaking, canoeing (life vests provided) plenty of movies to watch if desired... and plenty of space for everyone (Family of 7 kids ranging from 25yrs old down to 4 yrs old) I really appreciated the Owners kindness and attention to us while we stayed. Some of the slider doors were very difficult to open and close and the owner was right ontop of it. None of us wanted to leave even the kids (who had pretty much no internet/phone use most of the time)
Great unplugged family getaway!!
House beautiful and emaculately kept! Beautiful drive to the house and owner was thoughtful in checking to make sure we arrived safely. No cell reception. Location feels remote, but only 20-25 minutes from grocery, restaurants and nearby marina. Driveway is steep, but our two-wheel didn’t have any trouble. Lake and weather was pretty chilly when we visited, but we had a wonderful time canoeing and kayaking around the lake! Kid had a great time exploring!! It was a nice Owner was super responsive and very kind! Definitely will return in warmer weather! This house has it all, just need to bring your boat (or rent one) and you’re set and will not want to leave.
