Great vacation cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently visited this cabin for our anniversary. We could not have been more pleased with our trip. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, inside and outside. The furnishings were extremely nice. There are numerous things to do at the cabin such as playing pool, relaxing in the jacuzzi, going out in the canoe, roasting marshmallows in the firepit, or just relaxing with a good book on the deck. This is by no means a typical cabin that you can rent. Our favorite place to be at the cabin was out on deck overlooking the lake and mountains. We were able to see 4 deer by the lake one morning, and then 3 deer in the driveway later that evening. The scenery is amazing! There is also lots to do in the area, such as whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and hiking. We can't wait to plan our next trip back. We have stayed in numerous cabins in the "Great Smokies", but none compare to this cabin! Serenity Cove is the perfect name for this place!

Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Clean and comfortable for Thanksgiving break.

The home has plenty of room and "extras." We loved roasting s'mores and hot dogs at the fire pit under the night sky. The lake was quiet...and fun to explore. We hope to be back!

What's not to Love about this Luxury Home?!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 loved every aspect of this Home away from Home. This place has it all! Greg, the owner, did a fantastic job filling the Luxury lakefront home with every amenity you can think of. We didn't need to bring much. Tubes, skiis, fishing poles, life vests, kayaks, canoe, fire pit (with plenty of firewood), dvds, stocked kitchen, hot tub, pool table, multiple TV's etc, etc, get the point! He even had starter logs near the fire pit for the novice fire builders out there. If the Lakefront Home is the Star then Lake Nantahala is def the co star! It was clear and clean and everyone we encountered on the Lake was friendly and helpful. After spending a week at the property it was clear that we had one of a handful of Gems on the lake. The Cove that it sits on is as private as it gets. We had our own swimming area that was protected by a no wake zone. Our kids made great use of this aspect of the vacation and we had no worries in terms of safety.

The property was clean and well maintained from top to bottom.

Greg is an amazing owner/manager and you can tell he takes pride in providing a great property for rent.

The Lake's End Marina at the far East side of the lake is fantastic. We rented boats from them during the week and they couldn't have been more helpful. We also went to Ridge Runner's Zip Line Tours and they were awesome too!! Other than that we stayed mainly on the property and enjoyed the Lake as much as we could. There was no need to go anywhere else! This place had it ALL!!! I would recommend this to friends and relatives and we will def be back in the near future and we hope to make it a tradition. We talked about going back to the lake and trying different properties but we talk ourselves out of that because we may be extremely disappointed if we find another place that isn't as impressive as this one. We can not think of anything that could've been better. The views, the lake, the house itself, the people, the hummingbirds on the deck, the hot tub, the hammock, and Greg the owner make this Luxury Loghome a must stay!! You will not be disappointed!

Fabulous Place at the Lake

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed at this house. It has everything you need for a great week at the lake! The house is well equipped and it has an assortment of sporting equipment of any house we have stayed in--all for your use on the lake....from kayaks, canoe, assorted water ski equipment and life jackets and this year there was a splash island float that our preteens played on for hours. The lake is the most beautiful we have seen and quiet--a great place to bring a boat and ski. Greg is a wonderful host and responds quickly to answer any questions or address needs. We hope to be back next year!

Heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect log home on a fantastic low density lake. Every amenity is available at the log home. The views are magnificent of the lake and 3 mountain ranges. The water is very clear and was a comfortable 83 degrees when we swam off the dock. We hiked to a waterfall, jumped of a cliff, water ski, tubing and fishing. Boat traffic on the lake was almost non existent. I can't say enough how much fun we had at this rental and on the lake, I highly recommend it and the home owner was very easy to deal with.

Fabulous Week on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Wow, what a great house and a great lake. We booked 6 nights and could have stayed much longer. The cabin was perfect for our large family (4 kids ages 9-15). The cabin is relatively new = nice kitchen, nice bathrooms each with walk-in showers, and open floor plan and secluded - there is a good thick tree buffer between the house and both neighbors. It is clean and well maintained. The furnishings are really nice and the beds were very comfortable. The large upper deck off the family room/kitchen is great for grilling out, bird watching, and taking in the scenic mountain views. It is a long walk down to the dock but from what we saw from the water, all the houses on Lake Nantahala have quite an elevation difference from the houses to the water. Along the path to the dock is a cool fire pit area situated under a tree canopy - we really enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the fire pit (even in late July when we visited) and watching the fire flies popping all around. The lake is great and Greg was a pleasure to work with before arriving and after we arrived. We rented a boat from the Lakes End Marina (highly recommend - Steve at the marina was great) and Greg gave us pointers to a few great spots we had to check out - 30 foot cliff dive and a water fall both on the lake. The lake water temp was cool and refreshing and despite being the middle of the summer - the boat traffic on the lake wasn't too bad compared to others we have been on in the area. We also really enjoyed the kayaks and all the water toys (big tube, floating water mat, skis, kneeboard, and wakeboards) that came with the house. The only challenge with the house is the steep driveway. We had a front wheel drive mini van which made it but struggled a bit. I would highly recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review, we love the home and the area and believe it to be unique and very special. We did structure the walk to the lake as a traverse that is not steep at all and only a 60 second walk down to the fire pit, the driveway is a bit steep but we have never had an issue driving up it with a good start from the bottom with a little momentum, I hope this doesn't hinder future travelers to our home as we have driven up the driveway with Hyundais and Mini Coopers etc. with ease.
