Molokai is Hawaii without the glitz and glamor of shops, stores and dining, but provides a peaceful truly Hawaiian experience.
Please feel free to contact us for information on Molokai, transportation from the mainland or other islands, etc. We are sure you will find Molokai a wonderful vacation spot, as we did after just our first visit.
Barbie & Jeff Fairchild, Owners
We had been visiting Maui for years and then toured all the islands. We fell in love with the peace and tranquility of Molokai and it's old Hawaii lifestyle. We were fortunate enough to be able to find an affordable resort condo, and renovated it to compliment the comfort we experience on Molokai.
Jeff and Barbie Fairchild purchased this condo in 2007

This was a grate stay, relaxing, with marvelous views. The condo was very nice and comfortable. We recommend this as the place to stay for your vacation.
My wife and I found the condo very comfortable, clean, and equipped with all of our needed. An amazing rate for what Jeff and Barbie provided. We hated leaving. The Wavecrest grounds are beautiful and the mountains behind the condo were stunning too. We loved the views of the neighboring islands, pool, cabana, and BQQ area. The refrigerator in the cabana area kept our beverages nice and cold. First time to this island; Molokai is a gem! Nice to see Molokai has stayed true to limiting growth. Saw a bumper stick sticker "Don't change Molokai, let Molokai change you" We've been on all of the Hawaiian islands. During peak season the beaches were easy accessible, and very quite. The Humpback whales were in and fun the watch. Many times we were the only one on the beach. The locals were very friendly, and helpful, and willing to share information. Can't wait to visit again:)
Thank you Jeff and Barbie:)
My husband and I had a wonderful vacation..the condo is beautiful. We would live to come next year. We met alot of nice people also. Thank you so much Jeff and Barbie... Aloha
The descriptions and other reviews do a great job of reviewing this property. We had great communications with the owners (Jeff and Barbie Fairchild). The condo is clean and bed comfortable. The fans (ceiling and floor) are well positioned to keep the breezes blowing through to keep us cool. There were no mosquitoes inside even though are windows were open (screens are on the windows). We have a great view of the pool and the ocean behind. The birdsong in the morning is wonderful. The condo has several cooking "basics" such as s/p, seasonings, and condiments. There is dish/dishwasher/laundry soap. I assume that some of these supplies are left over from prior tenants. We drank purchased bottled water as the tap water is chlorinated. There are beach chairs and stuff to borrow. There are ice packs in the fridge if you want to pack a picnic. The icemaker in the fridge works well. We met the housekeeper as we were leaving and we thanked her for her great work in preparing the condo for our arrival. This is a third floor location with no elevators in the building. The communal washer and dryer cost $1.50 and $.75 respectively. Great stay and highly recommended. Make sure you go out to Halawa Valley and participate in the cultural hike.
Our stay in September was hampered somewhat by some very wet weather so we did not get to enjoy some of the amenities of the site ie.pool/bbq/beach gear.
After some mix up regarding the unit not being cleaned after previous guests we settled into our 3 night stay.
The apartment has all we needed re cooking for ourselves, has a lovely view over the water, a large lania and overall was a great size for a couple. Bed was comfy with heaps of good storage.
A couple of things to take into consideration if you choose to stay here:
- we found the site quite isolated and probably would have preferred to stay a little closer to the main town especially if you are looking for a meal outside the apartment. We had a scary experience driving the low lying road into town and ended up getting caught in some flooded parts. We ended up not getting into town and turned around back to the safety of the site. This was no ones fault but worth mentioning.
- the apartment has fans and no ac which for us we realised we needed in the humid conditions.
Would still recommend this apartment to fellow travellers but be aware of what you need in a place to stay.
Communication was great with Jeff re the mix up when we arrived re the cleaning and many thanks for your reimbursement.

If your goal is to explore authentic Hawaiian living, and quiet surroundings this is the place for you. We visited in Sept. 2016 for a week to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. We had stayed at Hotel Molokai then, but we like to cook our own food, so Wavecrest was the perfect location. The condo was clean and supplied with every needed item for comfortable living. The owners, Jeff and Barbie were responsive and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us. Thank you. The only downfall is the lack of beach on Molokai that was good for swimming. I understand that the snorkeling trips to the reef are spectacular, but we did not go due to the wild trade winds. Fortunately there is a pool at Wavecrest where you can cool off and meet residents who stay year round. This was just what we needed. We left Molokai via the short flight to Maui. The pilot went the long route and we really got an overview of the whole island. It was truly a memorable trip. Mahalo.
Enjoy all the activities found on other Hawaiian islands without the traffic and crowds. Fabulous snorkeling from shore, or adventure trips to Lanai; Scuba diving in Hawaii's only barrier reef; fishing and sport fishing; surfing and boogie boarding; kayaking; sailing; biking and mountain biking; hiking the spectacular Kalaupapa sea cliff trail, Molokai's rain forest and Kamakou Preserve; horseback riding; whale watching, and much more...or, relax under a palm tree on a secluded, quiet and uncrowded beachfront with vistas of Maui and the mountains of Molokai, lay by the pool, and not be bothered by crowds, traffic, noise; visit the local library and learn about the Hawaiian history, customs, even how to play a ukulele! And never encounter a stoplight on any of your adventures.
Other Activities: wildlife viewing, kayaking, shuffleboard,
