Just heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 6 days to get away and relax. This was our second time - first stayed in February and loved it so much we had to come back. We have now stayed in both cottages and can honestly that both cottages are just so cosy, warm and comfortable.

James and Erica make you feel so at home and the welcome pack is a lovely touch.

All in all it is a wonderfully peaceful place surrounded by woodland and great places to visit nearby.

Great way to cut off from the world

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at James' Exmoor cottage for a week, to cut myself off from the world and work on a new project. It was the ideal place to do this, as the surroundings are incredibly quiet and you really do feel you are in a remote corner of the country.

The property itself has the feeling of a studio apartment, with everything on the ground floor with the exception of the bedroom upstairs. I loved this setup, as it meant I could spend the day working in the main part of the cottage, and then go up to bed, leaving my work behind. I spent 6 nights in the cottage and have not slept better in quite some time.

The cottage has everything you need - very good wifi to avoid problems of lack of phone signal, a lovely bath, living room area and spacious kitchen. James was a great host, at the end of an email if I needed anything.

Seeing as I was there to work, I'm afraid I didn't do much exploring of the local area, but the cottage itself I can thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful, cosy property in fantastic, quiet location. Perfect for a Christmas stay.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 5 nights over the Christmas period, for what was always going to be a very difficult Christmas, but we couldn't have chosen a nicer place. It was very cosy, beautifully decorated and had all the facilities we needed. The bathroom was superb and very spacious. James had provided some lovely provisions to welcome us - delicious bread, home made apple juice and some really lovely crab apple jelly, as well as milk and butter in the fridge. James also provided us with a decorated Christmas tree for £20, which was nice to have. Would love to return in the summer and make the most of the surroundings. Would be perfect for a couple wanting a quiet getaway in a wonderful location for walking.

There are plenty of options for walking both close to the cottage and on Exmoor which is just 10 min drive. To the North the Quantocks has wonderful walks too including the Coleridge Way. The picturesque towns of Dulverton and Bampton are close by offering a range of places to eat and shop and host various annual events. There is plenty to do or you can just relax in your garden on the edge of our woodland.
