THIS IS A MAGICAL PROPERTY: where many guests return year after year - some as many as 25 years (for me--48 years)! Two presidents have spent time here--in this room from which I am typing. This was a former classic inn, dating back more than 200 years. It is not unusual to hear comments such as - It's like something out of Norman Rockwell! It's better than we expected! We thought we would take our kids to Disney this year but they wanted to come back to the lake! Idyllic, beautiful, peaceful, comfortable! Very clean and beautifully maintained! The views are the best on Newfound lake! We wish we could live here!

FISHERMEN! ICE FISHERMEN! Over 200 'hook and throw back' fish caught last year!

Motorcycle Week--call for rates and availability (check with me to confirm availability--web site isn't always accurate).

BMW NEWFOUND LAKE ICE RACES - in Feb and March. Come as a group.

SKIERS: RAGGED MOUNTAIN 10 MINS//TENNY MOUNTAIN will re-open this fall. It is 5.9 miles away--6 mins. Six minutes to the new Tenny Mountain and 12 minutes to Ragged Mountain ski resorts. Inexpensive family skiing and just a few minutes away.

WATERVILLE 30-40 MINS--ABOUT SAME FOR LOON. Families welcomed.

SAILORS! Consistent breezes and open waters await you!

BOATERS! Enjoy uncrowded waters! Learn to water ski!

Music lovers: "Flying Monkey" in Plymouth (15 mins away). I saw Three Dog Night this week for $50 seat--or get a dinner table and watch the show. Every week, someone new. Great shows.

ADVENTURERS! Explore Sculptured Rocks, and Welton Falls, climb Mt.Cardigan, ride a zip line, bike around the lake!

CHILDREN!: Run on level lawns! Make new 'summer friends'! Roast Marshmallows at dusk and see more stars than ever before! Swim from a gradual, sandy beach, roped-off swim area! Learn to water ski or sail! Discover the excitement of tubing! Build sand castles! Fall asleep completely exhausted!

About Doreen Holden or DAE

World Traveller, Errant knight. Been to the four corners of the Earth (Germany, Romania and Bulgaria last week), but here on Newfound Lake is paradise. Warm, sunny summers, wind-howling, snowy winters. Phenonmenal foliage, peaceful, wood-burning smell of fireplaces in winter and spring. BMW ice races in February.

I used to work and live here back in 1974 when the Wagon Wheel was a thriving inn. It is now under my stewardship--for the next … generation or longer--but it is condos--not an inn these days--sorry.

Doreen Holden or DAE purchased this condo in 2015

Why Doreen Holden or DAE chose Bridgewater

It is a classic. GHW Bush was a frequent visitor, along with many other notables.

What makes this condo unique

Beautiful grassy lawns, quaint sandy beach, fire pits, boat launch--a tranquil and bucolic retreat. The main condo reflects the classic inn of 1800. The main building was built in the 1700s--with additions over the years.

Six minutes to Tenny Mountain Ski resort of 10 to Ragged Mountain and 25 to Waterville or Loon--take your pick.

Pure New England Heaven

  • 5 of 5

The condo was perfect in everyway. My wife, 2 girls and I could not have had a better stay. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We used the boat ramp and swam in the crystal clear water everyday. This will become a yearly tradition for our family!

right on lake shore

  • 5 of 5

This condo is perfect for a family with children or anyone who wishes to use a canoe or sailboat right from the rental. It is also an excellent base for exploring the White Mountain area.

The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating which is very important when coming from a distance and/or renting sight unseen.

The little town of Bristol and the Newfound Lake Country store have excellent light food at reasonable prices. More expensive restaurants are also in the area, but with young children we did not go to those. Take out is available from most. There is a modern full service grocery store very near.

The conditions of the condo were exactly as described.

Only down side to location is that all the condos in the association are either attached or very close together. As long as one knows that it is not a problem, but there is a great deal of 'sharing' of space on the site.

We will have no hesitation about renting this property again or recommending it to others.

Owner's Response: We sincerely appreciate such wonderfull feedback from our guests and feel fortunate to be able to share this idyllic location with them. There are 14 untis (5 of which are rentals) in 2 buildings on 1.6 acres with 300 ft. of waterfront. There tends to be very full occupancy during the last 2 weeks of July and first 2 of August which is desirable for some because they meet other families and children play together on the beach and grounds or around the fireplaces in the evening. Many new friendships have started here some lasting over 30 years! Because there are 3 attached units, guests often rent all 3 resulting in everyone close to them being associated with their group. There is an end unit which has more private space in front of it and one closest to our personal unit which has very low occupancy. This experience describes the middle unit which does have other guests on either side and can feel a bit squeezed. For a quieter experience, a little earlier or later in the season may also be a good option. We enjoyed meeting our guests and are very pleased to hear they enjoyed their vacation and would like to return, and thank them for taking the time to send this review!

Lakefront as you hoped it would be.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed over Labor Day weekend 2009 and truly hope to be back every year. The units are clean, homey and comfortable. The views of the lake with the mountains in the distance are as pretty as scenery you might see in a movie. Truly quaint and restful. It really was like escaping from the hustle and bustle of today to a slower, quieter and indulgent time gone past. The owner is most generous, helpful and easy to get along with. I truly hope you can experience this place as long as you don`t take our time.

perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

We have been vacationing here for 4 years and wouldn't consider anywhere else. The condos are well maintain and offer all the comforts of home. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Our friends were so impressed on one visit they now rent each summer. Newfound lake is scenic and pristine. I must say though that my favorite part of each day is enjoying the beautiful sunsets that glow on our beach as the sun creeps behind the mountains each evening. Go and enjoy, You'll be glad you did,

Very enjoyable and relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the first time last year (2008) at property #182010 on Newfound Lake. We had rented two of these properties together with my brother and sister as we try to get together every year for one week of relaxation and for all the kids to have a place to enjoy a summer vacation. This was a great place to take them. The units are very well kept and clean. The description of the property is very accurate. The whole area is very well-maintained and we were well taken care of. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a clean and well-maintained spot. The beach area is very clean and of course the water was very enjoyable to swim or just sit and watch the boats go by. Can't wait to go back this summer. We have already booked two of the units and another one elsewhere on the same property.
