Malcolm Giles purchased this house in 1999
Wanted time away from the busy 'Valley of the Sun' time to relax and rejuvenate one soul and time to enjoy nature. Time to live in the now and be present to myself. The fun part now is I can share these moments with our wonderful guest.
No one is around, you are alone in the woods and you will not see anyone else while you are there. Why not get away from the crowds. I promise you will not want to leave.
We came to vacation and get out of the valley. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We enjoyed rain storms, fresh air and relaxed. We didn't see any animals but it was nice stop between the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Williams. Which we were able to visit all due to the wonderful location of the cabin. Very peaceful, love the location, cabin had everything you could need. Plenty of water, lines, dishes and utensils, etc. Thank you for letting us use the garage to put ours in to keep animals away. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay.
What a fantastic stay! We came as a company of actors who needed a home for a weekend while doing a show in Flagstaff, and the cabin environment was so relaxing and invigorating. The property was beautiful and welcoming--highly recommended!
We LOVED this cabin! Easy to get to with plenty of space. The property is spacious and secluded but very close to all the amenities of Flagstaff. This cabin is well maintained and had everything we were looking for. I would recommend to anyone!
Nice, clean cabin. Got to see elk in the evening. We had fun at the Deer Farm and enjoyed dinner in downtown Williams at the Italian Bistro. Would recommend this place to friends and family.
Overall it was a wonderful experience. The property/area was wonderful and the house was really nice too. there were just a few issues that would have made it even better. The shower heads were not the best and having kids with us, hand held shower heads would have been nice to have. The mattresses were alright but mattress pads would have been better on them to add some softness. A couple of the screens were broken and let in bugs as we opened the windows cuz it was warm when there. A broken plastic outside chair caused one of my grandkids to get pinched. It should be replaced. Because we were there when it was hot, the large room over garage got really warm so maybe a portable or window air conditioner would help. I'm just mentioning this as we had two/four year olds with us that needed naps. But overall, we had a lovely time.
We have stayed a few different VBO locations. This could be our favorite. We are a family of 6 (children 17, 15, 13 and 9). We love staying in VBO and then taking day trips to various locations. This cabin was perfect for us. We were able to get easily to Sedona, Flagstaff, Williams and of course the Grand Canyon. The kids were thrilled that they all got their own room. There was a separate "bachelor pad" for my 15 year old son above the garage. The kitchen is fully stocked. There is plenty of seclusion from others, which is a plus. For those that still have to check in to civilization the wifi is good. We were there in the summer time and the weather was perfect, a much needed relief when you are coming from Phoenix.
Great location -- plenty of room. Perfect family vacation.
This was the ideal get away for our parents' 40th anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and all of it's rustic charm. It is literally in the middle of the Coconino woods so you may get lucky and see some deer or elk in the early morning. The house was spacious and comfortable with plenty of space for our family. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway.
Downhill skiing or the Polar Express in the winter, horseback riding, the Grand Canyon Railway, or just walking in the woods...It is all accessible from this secluded retreat.
Your GPS may say to turn on Puddle Place, street now is called Silver St.
