Great holiday in a fantastic house
Our family stayed here for two weeks in September 2018 and had a fantastic time. The villa is in a rural location, surrounded by olive groves and a few other properties. It's great place to relax. There's a great supermarket a short drive away and it's also close to Lucca, where we spent a lot of time.
Inside, the house was spotlessly clean and had great space for a family holiday. The two double bedrooms are really spacious and the smaller bedroom is perfect for kids. The weather was very hot when we were there so we were thankful of AC in all bedrooms.
Outside, there's a lovely garden that is secure (fence, lockable gates) so it's great for kids to play in. Also, there are two great areas for alfresco dining.
The host, Stefania, was extremely helpful and was always on hand via whatsapp to answer any questions or help with arrangements in the local area.
We'd love to come back.
Gorgeous Home, Lovely People
I stayed at Stefania's holiday home for 3 months. I was in Italy alone, it was my first time out of the country, and from day one until the time I returned home, she took exceptional care of me. I arrived during the olive harvest, so I was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to help harvest with Stefania's crew. Topping that I was able to enjoy her delicious fresh oil after the work was done. The house is probably best spent in the warmer months, but if you have the luxury to have both the warmth and the olive harvest, then please do it! The house is cleaned bi-weekly by a very meticulous woman who I praised every chance I got. Also enjoyed lovely views, and very nicely decorated interior. I hope to return with my family in the near future. Thank you so much my dear friend. Ciao to your wonderful family!
Exactly as described better

Peaceful, lovely country home
My sister and her husband, my husband and myself (all "seniors") rented this home in Tuscany, Lucca, Capannori, Italy for one week. It has been lovingly restored and met all our needs for our stay, with the exception of not having a clothes dryer (Americans of NOT used to hanging out clothes to dry) but we managed just fine with the clothesline and rack!!) Other appliances were certainly adequate for all our needs. Stefania graciously met us on our first day (GPS in car not spot-on) to show us to the house, and the one time we had a problem, she met us promptly to solve it. This home is conveniently located to be able to explore the Tuscany region. We visited Pisa, Firenze, Viareggio and, of course, Lucca and surrounding areas. This home was clean and, since the weather was lovely with cool evenings, we didn't have to use any Air Conditioning. I loved having my morning coffee and orange juice sitting outside under the gazebo listening to the birds sing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to experience the Tuscany region and would not hesitate to also say that this would be an exceptional place for a longer stay so you could really get into the Italian routine of quiet afternoons and busy evenings! Restaurants and grocery stores are not far from this home and this information was posted inside for our convenience. Thank you again, Stefania, for sharing your property with us! Ciao!
A few kilometers from the holiday home you can visit the beautiful villas of Lucca. They are found in the countryside and in the hilly area surrounding the Piana di Lucca and still represent a heritage of remarkable beauty today. The villas of Lucca were built from the 15th to the 19th century as alternative summer residences to the winter ones in the city at the behest of the wealthier classes of the city of Lucca. These prestigious residences are still for the most part in the hands of private individuals through generations.
The structure of the Lucca villas is typical of a work of art: large and arboreal gardens, arcades, halls, frescoes and statues, parks with pools, fishmongers and ponds. In the construction of these urban bourgeoisie works surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, the people of Lucca have changed their landscape taking beauty as their primary consideration. Visitors find themselves in contact with a plurality of values that range between architecture and landscape, agriculture and traditional activities, creating a contemplative and intimate atmosphere. The most famous villas are: Villa Mansi in Segromigno in Monte, Villa Torrigiani in Camigliano, Villa Oliva in San Pancrazio, Villa Reale in Marlia.
Near the holiday home is the Wine and Oil Route of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia, in the province of Lucca. It is unique in Tuscany for the enveloping and penetrating beauty of its natural landscapes, rich in light and colors. From the white marble peaks of the Apuan Alps, which frame the blue of the Versilia marina from Forte dei Marmi to Viareggio, the gaze passes, without interruption, through the historic centers of Seravezza, Pietrasanta, Camaiore and Massarosa to arrive along sweet and bright hills in Lucca the capital, a city rich in history and art, and then continue on sunny slopes to discover the historic villas in the municipality of Capannori, Montecarlo with its fortress and ending in Altopascio, the city of bread and the Knights of the Tau. This land, the Lucca area, which encompasses such a spectacular variety of natural environments - sea, mountains, valleys, hills - and historic centers, living custodians of a millenary culture, has nourished our rural civilization for centuries. An ancient agriculture, which in the cultivation of land, vines and olives, in the practice of fishing, has produced knowledge and flavors closely linked to our liveliest traditions. Today the visitor, along the Wine and Oil Route, can live and enjoy a "basket" of typical Lucca products, which pass from the fine D.O.C. of Montecarlo and the Lucca hills to the lightness of D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil of Lucca, from the fragrant breads of the master bakers of Altopascio to the artisanal production of high pork butchery from Gombitelli and mountain cheesemakers, to the refined fish dishes of Versilia with the thousand colors of the qualified fruit and vegetable and flower production. An invitation to walk the streets of the Wine and Oil Road of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia to get to know and buy high quality oil and wine.
