The moment you pass through the antique Asian gate you are inspired by the flair of the two villas adjoined by a deck and iron wood shingled roofs. On one side of the complex are a large dining area, open living space, and master bedroom. On the other side are two bedrooms, each with its own private adjoining bath. Walk graciously across the ironwood deck and meet your friends in the middle at the jade colored stone pool to enjoy the incredible sunsets.
The Pavilions have been styled and formed with traditional Javanese architecture and construction using wood joints and no nails. It is a painstaking process, but yields a sensational result.
This residence can be rented with the following villas with a total of 7 bedrooms which are located on the same 30 acre private reserve in Hatillo near Dominical:

Alexander Hruby has lived in Costa Rica for over 15 years. He was educated in Europe and the United States as an engineer.
He first explored the Osa Peninsula by attending an Ashtanga Yoga workshop. To pacify his surfing passion he purchased property on the Pacific Coast. After selling a successful auto parts business in Vienna, Austria, he made a permanent move to Costa Rica and used his design talents to build Manu Villas. Searching for sustainable elegance in the jungle he was inspired by Bali Architecture. His Bali style homes are perched on cliff edges surrounded by orchids cascading over infinity edge pools that embrace the elements.
Alexander Hruby purchased this estate in 2001
Manu Villas is a very special and unique property and might not be for everyone! If you really like a private, secluded property surrounded by tropical rain forest with all its wildlife only a short driving distance to town and the closest beaches you come to the right place. We choose this location on a hill overlooking the entire pacific because of the privacy the cool breezes at night and the incredible sunsets!
We are french- we spent 3 weeks in villa PAVILION in august.(4 adults and 3 children )...It was amazing...the house is splendid, , with a wonderful view to the countryside and the sea from the hill...everything was perfect....service ( thanks to Jose the caretaker and the cleaning girls !) , place, situation, house..... we were so happy to come back there after our trip discovering the country....we were in the middle of nature, completely what we expected....toucans in front of the house, and a lot more, wild sounds, we were in an other planet !
I definitively recommend that place
The Pavilion offers beautiful vistas, a serene setting and a great home base for birders and other ecotourists. Toucans and parrots greet you in the morning, and nearby sites including Hacienda Baru and a variety of beaches offer more opportunities to enjoy Costa Rica's natural beauty. Grace was a charming and helpful hostess, Jose our patient driver and willing guide, and all the staff friendly and professional.
Six of us (55y-65y) stayed at the gorgeous, luxurious and comfortable Manu Pavilion for one week. The perfect place for 3 close couple friends to relax, cook and eat meals together, explore areas/beaches nearby and watch spectacular sunsets while floating and drinking pina coladas in the perfect infinity pool overlooking the ocean. We all agreed that the Manu Pavilion, the owner and everyone we met there were all wonderful! The ride to Manu is bumpy as other guests have mentioned but so worth it!
Each year we rent a villa for three months during the winter season. It is always a concern, for this length of time, that the rental will not live up to expectations including the owner promising to provide high speed internet access. This has been the case in the past --- but not this time. Everything was better than promised. The villa was exceptional. Five star luxury with Jose and his staff taking care of our every need.
It was truly a jungle experience, private and secluded, high on top of a mountain, with a gorgeous pool, stunning views of the ocean and marvellous sunsets, but still very accessible to shopping and activities such as horseback riding.
Over the three months we got to know the owners Alex and Grace who are very caring towards all their guests. Treat yourself to one of the fabulous meals that Grace prepares. We got to see the other properties that they have available for rental which are of the same exceptional quality as the villa that we rented. We would highly recommend all of them.
The Bali Pavilion in Dominical sits atop the private 30-acre Manu rain forest reserve overlooking the Pacific Ocean to the west and untrammeled primary forest to the east. It is surrounded by unspoiled nature and gardens and is only minutes away from the next beautiful beach called Playa Linda and Guapil.
On the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica is one of the country's most beautiful uncut gems, Dominical. From its turquoise green water to its fiery red and gold sunsets, the natural beauty of the area is second to none. The town sits on the Pacific ocean bordered to the north by the Río Barú, on the east by three thousand foot high mountains and to the south by dark, coffee brown, beaches and coves. One of the most striking features of Dominical can be found while swimming in the water, the town simply disappears. All you see are the tall beach palms and mangroves surrounded by verdant green hills reaching up into the mountains.
