Here you can watch the eagles soaring over head and many times landing on the near by trees. Our waterfront home has an open concept with magnificent water and Mt. Baker views. It is nestled in the woods giving it the privacy needed for a peaceful vacation.
The main level has a living room with cathedral ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which flood the home with light and bring the outside in. There is also a massive rock fireplace perfect for cozy intimate evenings. The kitchen is large enough for multiple cooks and the breakfast bar seating is perfect for the 'kibitzers'. There is a den that can be closed off to serve as another bedroom. In addition there is a bath with shower and a guest half bath. On the upper level is a very large master suite with en suite bath, jetted tub, separate shower and double sinks. The Master Bedroom has a new King Size Bed. There are 2 additional bedrooms with Queen Size Beds and another full bath. The main level has another bedroom with day bed and trundle or you can use the Queen sleeper sofa. The full bath is adjacent. There is a large deck with a portion of it covered.

We loved our time on Lummi Island, and this was a perfect home base. The house was beautiful, well-equipped and simply delightful. We found things just as we expected to. The short walk to the beach was perfect. The view from the (many) decks was peaceful. The openness of the home allowed our family great time together. We would happily return again!
Lummi Island is a great place for a serene stay. We enjoyed exploring our own beach and others (especially near the church on the west side of the island) and we enjoyed hiking in one of the three preserves on the island. People on the island were friendly.
Our large family gathered at Eagles Rest from three states to celebrate Christmas and we had a wonderful time!
Everything was perfect from the view, the comfortable furniture, the well-apportioned kitchen and the wood stove. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, comfortable and modern. The three-and-a-half baths, a table that seats ten, and ample room throughout made for an enjoyable five-day stay in stormy, winter weather. The house is bigger than it appears in the pictures. Should we return to the area, we will rent again! Thanks to the manager, Virginia, for her quick answers to questions, but most of all, for having the house tastefully decorated for the holiday, which made the experience all the more special.
Our vacation selection for Lummi Island was to find a home near the water, where we could relax and read while enjoying the serene mountain scene, along with family and two grandsons, and find plenty to keep the boys busy (only one television was sometimes challenging). The Eagles Rest home was spacious and roomy for all of us with a well stocked and equipped kitchen. We found we didn't need to purchase paper towels, napkins or toilet paper, and noted the large selection of spices for cooking meals. Occasional lunch or dinner out was a treat at the Beach Store Cafe and we were able to locate several geo cache locations with the grandsons finding hidden treasures. A downed tree during a weekend storm took out the electricity and television signal, but the home was equipped with a generator for emergency power. Our only disappointment was the condition of the carpeting on the stairs and in the master bedroom as it appeared dirty with obvious stains on the lighter carpeting in the upper areas. We felt cleaning/damage fees charged previous occupants could have been used to take care of this matter.
Our family stayed for a week and we did not want to leave. It was so relaxing and the views are amazing. The photos are great but reality exceeded our expectations. We had up to 6 adults at times and had more than enough space. The dogs loved it too. The kitchen was well equipped and good quality items to boot. We all commented on the layout of the kitchen and even if we were all in there, we weren't getting in each other's way. All of our needs were met and Virginia, the Property Manager, was great to work with. I would definitely recommend this property and my kids said we need to stay 2 weeks next time.
Eagle's Rest is a warm and beautiful home. We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday with 8 dear friends and it turned out perfect. Lots of space to spread out and also large living room, dinning room and kitchen to gather in. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to have 6-10 folks together on Lummi Island and want to stay in one house together. We look forward to the next time we get to stay at Eagle's Rest.
This was the perfect house to stay in with my bridesmaids for the few days before my wedding on Lummi. It is spacious, has an amazing master bathroom (which was fun to get ready in), and a great view from the deck or the large windows in the living room. Virginia is also amazing to work with and helped us book houses for other family members and wedding guests. Overall, a wonderful experience!
There are several very nice walking trails and one good hiking trail. Bikes are available to rent. Book early as the supply is limited. There is a Kayak Company that will come to the island and also a boat company that will pick you up right on your beach. There are 2 wine tasting rooms on the island. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends there is an artists tour.
