Two other bedrooms in our boathouse with another bunk bed (one above, two below) plus an antique 3/4 bed with new custom made mattress. The boathouse also has a screened in 'Muskoka' room. The boathouse is the perfect place for teens or privacy for the other couple or for simply enjoying your morning coffee as you look out over the river from an elevated perch.

Large eat-in, fully equipped ski-lit country kitchen with twin skylights. Total comfort and functionality.

Sunken living room with wrap around windows, oak bar, T/V with satellite, VCR & DVD player. Furnished with comfortable reclining Lazyboy furniture. Also, a classic wood stove to warm those chilly nights.

Sliding glass doors lead to a two level deck with deck furniture and gas BBQ. The elevated deck overlooks the large lawn and boathouse. The view from the deck provides a perfect place from which to view the meandering and enchanting Severn River.

Large lawn for games and bonfire pit. Also, a 20 foot private dock.

*Special feature* - in addition to the indoor tub/shower there is a unique fully enclosed (except for the ceiling) Muskoka outdoor shower with hot and cold water supply. A truly refreshing enjoyable experience!

Very private setting with excellent swimming, fishing and boating.

Our family was fortunate to be able to rent this lovely cottage again for our family vacation. There were 8 adults sharing this beautiful space with two couples enjoying the peace and quiet in the boat house. The dock became our favourite go to spot first thing in the morning with our coffee watching the ducks and listening to the birds. The water is so clear you can watch the fish swim right under your feet. The location is close to some beautiful small towns which we thoroughly enjoyed touring. This has become our families' personal favourite spot with lots to do close by and also the perfect spot to hang out together. Thanks Joe for another great time!!

Fantastic Location and Host

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from six nights in the cottage - a group of three men on a college reunion. We flew in from various parts of the world and had a great time. We were looking for a quiet getaway that was easily accessible from Toronto airport and this was perfect. The cabin was well equiped and we had lots of fun taking out the boat and canoe down the river. Closeby are many trials and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone seeking a quiet retreat. Joe was also a great host and very helpful for all our needs.

nice weekend away

the location was everything joe said it was. We had a nice time, lots of room for all 6 of us.

The boating was excellent, went all the way up to Georgian Bay, and all the way down to lake Couchiching.

End of the Lane Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Looking at the river gave me the most peaceful feeling I have ever experienced.

I drew a portrait while sitting in the Muskoka room (screened in on three sides extending over the river) in the adorable boathouse. The silence is perfect and so restful. I felt like I was the only one in a quiet world.

Thank goodness I looked up from my work to see a beautiful Blue Herron flying by to perch across the river.

I loved everything about this unique rental.

I will come back every year.

2011 Summer vacation

  • 5 of 5

This place is represented well. My family of 7 stayed there for a full week. The setting is beautiful. The host gracious. The house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to walk into a home. It is very warm and inviting. We are from Missouri and put a great deal of faith coming all the way up. It is in a convenient location. Roads are well maintained. I have siblings that are looking for a place to stay. We grew up coming to Orillia as children and will continue to stay in this place if it is available. I had the deposit refund within a week of my stay. I can't say enough good things, really! Joe, Thanks for sharing the beauty of your house. Oh and the boathouse was perfect as well.
