My name is Yiorgos Stavridis. I was born and raised on Rhodes Island. I am a real estate agent, but i have been building houses and renovating ruins and old houses since 1981. This is my biggest love in my career, so if ever you are thinking of building or renovating a house, please feel free to drop me a line.
The villa belongs to Rhodian family with long history which now lives in Athens.I have began managing this villa as it touched me by its unspoiled atmosphere and reminds me old times.
Here are few words from the owners:
Villa Pyrgo was built in 1900 and served as the summer house of a prominent Rhodian family who resided there in order to escape the heat of Rhodes Town during the summer.
Villa Pyrgo has a distinct neoclassical architectural style and has been characterized as listed traditional building by Presidential Decree in 1996, ‘’of remarkable unassuming architecture with decorative elements, important for the study of architectural history in the area of Rhodes.’’
The Villa has been the family’s point of reference for 5 generations. As its members moved in the late 1800 from Rhodes mainly to Alexandria- Egypt, but also to other parts of the world, and in 1964 to Athens, it has always been a sweet excuse to reunite at the ‘’Pyrgo’’ at least once a year and catch up with friends and relatives, exchange life stories and gossip under the stars in the warmth of the Rhodian summer night, surrounded by the intoxicating fragrances of the Mediterranean jasmine, evening primrose, basil and lemon blossoms.
The Villa although completely renovated has preserved its old flair and aura.
Stepping in, you are immediately transferred back in time when life was relaxed and easy, when people communicated with nature when earth was close.
As the owners of Villa Pyrgo, we invite you to enjoy your holidays in a blessed place by nature. Villa Pyrgo will make you want to come back and reunite again....

Ixia –Ialyssos is ideally situated in the north western part of Rhodes it is 7 km from Rhodes Town, the airport, and main harbour. Ialysos has become a tourist destination, with several hotels and resorts located on the coast, especially in the new settlement of Ixia, situated between the towns of Ialysos and Rhodes. Being on the usually windward north-western coast of the island, it is also a noted location for wind-surfing and surf-kiting.
Built at the northern end of the island in 408 BC; the town stretches from the hills of Monte Smith all the way to the Medieval City, to Mandraki port and on to the beaches beyond – just a few miles to the east.
Rhodes is considered one of the best planned cities designed by Hippodamus, with a checkerboard road network, much of which has survived until the current day. Its unique makeup is based mainly on the extensive architectural projects constructed by the Knights of St John and later by the Italians.
Today, Rhodes town is the second most highly populated town in the Greek islands. Second only to Heraklion in Crete and in spite of its tourist development its unique identity has remained untouched. At the same time Rhodes is vibrant all year round with an intense professional and social life, with modern shopping centres, multi-cinemas, theater stages, acclaimed restaurants and even a famous Casino. Rhodes is an active multicultural society that regularly hosts International sporting and cultural events.
With 56,000 residents, nearly 50% of the island’s total population, Rhodes City is the capital of the Dodecanese and an important administrative and commercial center of the Aegean.
On the outskirts of the city and within just 6-7 km, the smaller towns of Ialyssos and Koskinou complement the suburban landscape, bringing the total population of the commuter triangle of the island, Rhodes – Ialyssos – Koskinou to 72,000.
The economic prosperity of the city resulted in the growth of one of the most viable real estate markets in the country. Both commercial and residential property have experienced steady growth over the last forty years and have sustained remarkable stability in the recent times of economic crisis in Greece.
