My wife and I love St Thomas. We first came to the island for our honeymoon and right way loved Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina. We kept coming almost every year and made decision to buy our own condo.
Michael purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Michael chose St. Thomas
Our condo is in perfect location right on the beach across our beautiful coral reefs. Property (building C) is located in the middle of six red roof buildings. Why this location is perfect? It is away from dive shop which is by the building A and also away from the pool which is by building D. We also away from Marina making our location perfectly quite.

Michael’s place is nice and reasonable. Security 24/7. He responds to any issue we have and his assistant, Norma was very very helpful! I would stay here again if time allows me and my family to go back.
Awesome beach-front views and beach access!
Great experience. Everything was as explained by the Owner prior to the trip.
This location is the best on the whole island. Most resorts are on a hill whereas this is right on a beautiful pristine beach. The cruise ship tourists don’t come here so it is very quiet. The resort is very well kept with security. We are a 5 minute drive from town to get groceries, have dinner, go diving, ride a ferry to St. John ....
Great snorkeling off beach with some small coral reefs. Beach bar with burgers. Caribbean band 1-2 afternoons a week. Nice little pizza restaurant 5 minute walk up the hill. The room has a big balcony with tables and chairs. Beach chairs. Beach towels. Bring a snorkel and mask. Cheaper to buy then rent every day.
The owner Michael is very informative and accommodating. He arranged for a crib in the room. He returns calls within an hour. Free calling here with ATT. Both of Michael’s units are one of the few with internet and cable TV. Thanks Mike! We got to watch Eagles crush the Patriots! I’m from Philly so this was my game!
Tips: I stayed here (I’m still here) 2 weeks in another unit of Michaels. My son, wife and 1 year old grandson stayed in this one for a week.
Tips- Good restaurants in Red Hook are Fish Tales with a deck in the water. Also Love shack. Great fish tacos and BBQ pork. Excellent is Mims- a 20 minute cab ride away. Get the snapper crusted in Almonds. Fresh catch and best I ever had.
Tip 2- I brought as many food staples as I could like cereal, Kashi bars, crackers, spices... some foods are very expensive in the grocery store. It is an island that was hit by 2 hurricanes so one needs to be forgiving of this. They have done a great job repairing everything.
Tip 3- some of the activities are closed due to the hurricane. Others are only open on cruise ship days. Look up the cruise ship port schedule on the internet. Like coral world. It’s half price cuz 2 exhibits down. Still worth going with small kids. But go to the beach there on a day when there is no cruise ship. Best snorkeling around cuz coral world feeds the fish. Has 2 beach bars with burgers.
If u visit Megan’s bay go at 10am if it’s a cruise ship day. You will be alone till 1. They pour in at 1 and the beach gets packed.
TIP 4- you dont need to rent a car as there are lots of taxis. Driving is on the left. Roads are very steep and windy. All mountains. If u have 4 or More in Your group this can get pricey tho. If you are daring then go for it. 🤗
Have a great time! Thx Mike for a great stay!
Nice room, amazing location. We Had a great time. Very satisfied.
It was my mother and I first trip to St. Thomas. The taxi took us straight from the airport to the condo. It was clean and just as it was pitctured. Loved the beach chair conceierge who placed us in the sun or shade. The beach was clean and not crowded. Cruise days were busy but they stayed near building A. We did the grocery service which came in handy all week! We also ordered pizza and subs that were delivered. We had lunch at the beach bar one day that was OK. We spent one afternoon in Red Hook. The climb to the top of the resort was a big one! I know people say they walked to town, but I would not have felt safe to do that. We took a gypsy cab back. The views were great! The people were friendly. It's not a Disney resort in terms of landscaping but we'd love to come back.
The shower was clean, the kitchen had all the necessities of home. Our neighbors were quiet. We will chose to stay at the east end of the island again!
Laid back condo
We arrived a day later than planned, due to snowstorm-canceled flight. Michael was accommodating and even refunded part of our payment. The condo was clean, well appointed, and met our needs for a too-brief stay. Nice outdoor deck facing the ocean. The Sapphire Beach resort complex itself is a bit tired: tennis courts not functional, outdoor restaurant abandoned. Only food option is a snack bar on the beach, with very limited menu. We took the safari taxi ($1 per person) in to Red Hook for dinner, and a regular taxi back ($4 per person). Overall, a relaxing stay and nice beach, but I doubt I would want to spend a full week at this resort.
Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina is located on the East End of St. Thomas, five minutes from nearby Red Hook where you can find Ferries to St. John, and St. Croix, as well as markets, restaurants and bars. The resort is 20 minutes from Charlotte Amalie, downtown, the shopping capitol of the Caribbean. Jewelry vendors are at every step, as well as souvenir and liquor shops. The island's Post Office can also be found in downtown, in addition to banks, and other service providers.
