You can't beat the view!

  • 3 of 5

You cannot beat the view from this balcony! We also appreciate Michael accommodating a last minute change in our airline reservations and giving us a break on another night's stay just before our arrival. However, there were a few things that were disappointing about the condo.

First of all, there was a leaking shower for our entire stay. The caretaker said that she would call us back after we called her on our first day, but never did (and we were there for 10 days!) Also, the beach towels that were supplied were less than desirable--one even had holes in it. I wouldn't use a towel like that at my own house and wouldn't expect that I would have to use one at a rental I am paying for.

Also, it would have been helpful to have some printed information in the condo about things to do in the area. I know there was general information supplied through VRBO, but we were visiting other condos on the property that had books put together with menus and much more detail--it was obvious that the owners had gone to a lot of trouble to make their guests feel welcome.

Also, you need to look past the rusty refrigerator door and the fact that the refrigerator did not have a light inside. Also, it would have been good to have a welcome mat at the front door, so that sand wouldn't be tracked into the condo. We actually bought a broom at the market so we could keep the floor swept up!

We love St. Thomas and the location of this condo, because you can't beat the view--it really is paradise!

Best location

  • 5 of 5

It was my mother and I first trip to St. Thomas. The taxi took us straight from the airport to the condo. It was clean and just as it was pitctured. Loved the beach chair conceierge who placed us in the sun or shade. The beach was clean and not crowded. Cruise days were busy but they stayed near building A. We did the grocery service which came in handy all week! We also ordered pizza and subs that were delivered. We had lunch at the beach bar one day that was OK. We spent one afternoon in Red Hook. The climb to the top of the resort was a big one! I know people say they walked to town, but I would not have felt safe to do that. We took a gypsy cab back. The views were great! The people were friendly. It's not a Disney resort in terms of landscaping but we'd love to come back.

The shower was clean, the kitchen had all the necessities of home. Our neighbors were quiet. We will chose to stay at the east end of the island again!

Laid back condo

  • 4 of 5

We arrived a day later than planned, due to snowstorm-canceled flight. Michael was accommodating and even refunded part of our payment. The condo was clean, well appointed, and met our needs for a too-brief stay. Nice outdoor deck facing the ocean. The Sapphire Beach resort complex itself is a bit tired: tennis courts not functional, outdoor restaurant abandoned. Only food option is a snack bar on the beach, with very limited menu. We took the safari taxi ($1 per person) in to Red Hook for dinner, and a regular taxi back ($4 per person). Overall, a relaxing stay and nice beach, but I doubt I would want to spend a full week at this resort.

Wow, what an amazing place!! Thank you!

  • 5 of 5

Having traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean my family and I had expected the same type of experience we always have, but in a different place. Our vacation experience ended up being bumped up to an all new level of excellence and we couldn't be more happy!

The ride from airport to resort was short, we arrived in the evening and entered the most beautiful setting I'd ever seen. We were struck by this beauty daily, from first step outside in the morning, throughout the day and through the night.

Our View of Paradise apartment was set up to have everything you could think of, from electronics to kitchen accessories. My family even remarked how comfortable the pullout sofa bed was and I tried it...they were right!

We thought it might be a tight fit sleeping 4 people in a one bedroom apartment but the design and layout of the apartment was so practical it was never an issue.

There was nothing we could think of that we were missing- and best of all was the ease of the rest of our vacation.

The resort offers convenient access to a gorgeous beach and pool. Amazing coral reefs were right outside of the condo. The beach is quiet and so safe I found my sunglasses, book and beach cover up long after dark, in the same place I had left them during the day. During lunch time we simply would leave our belongings on the beach and have our lunch at the condo. This gives you an idea of what the locals are like, because if you've ever been anywhere else you'd know this was a miracle!

My family and I explored many places and did a lot of comparisons and have decided to stop taking the "good with the bad" and simply stay with "all good" and return to this condo annually. Our experiences have led us to the perfect vacation spot!

A True Gem!

  • 5 of 5

Michael's place is everything we wanted and more. His place is amazing-it's clean, spacious, in an excellent location, and has the all the basic amenities you need for a vacation. He is super friendly and responds quickly to any question you have. This has been by far the best vacation my boyfriend and I have ever had using a homeaway. We recommend looking no further and we will definitely be back for another stay!

Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We travel to St Thomas quite often and we like to stay at Sapphire Beach Resort. We have stayed in different buildings but we find this condo to be in perfect location among other buildings. It is located in the center of other buildings not too close to the pool on the right side and too close to Dive shop therefore location of the condo is very quiet and serene with amazing view of the beach.

Several weeks before our trip the owner of the condo sent us very detailed condo instructions and detailed information about St Thomas, some of the items were driving directions to the resort, where we can do grocery shopping, how public transportation works on the island etc. The condo was very well prepared for our arrival. The condo is very well maintained and tastefully renovated. We loved the beautiful cabinets owners have in the kitchen and we felt right at home right away. We were provided with regular towels, beach towels, kitchen towels and bathroom supplies for entire stay. It was very convenient because we did have to wait for replacement everyday because we were leaving for the beach early in the morning to witness beautiful St Thomas sunrise.

We love to cook at home and were glad the condo had all utensils pans and pots for our stay, toaster, coffee maker and juice maker. My husband and I loved to have our meals on the deck. Light breeze and beautiful view were better than any restaurant in town. I have to mention the beach of the resort. We have traveled around the globe quite a lot and have seen some very famous beaches in Europe and Caribbean nothing comes very close to the beach at Sapphire Resort (especially given the condos are so close to the beach). Snorkeling was a great experience. I am glad that resort protects snorkeling reefs because they are quite special. Marina has offered good entertainment options were jet ski rentals and fishing trips. One day we took a fishing trip in afternoon. The boat took us on neighboring island nearby and four hours later we had tasty Mahi Mahi for dinner.

Resort has very good option to have lunch or dinner. Banana Cabana located on the beach has very good lunch options, they serve sandwiches, burgers, fries cocktails and drinks. We also like Sapphire Grill which has very well priced menu and tasty food.

It worked for us that resort is very close to Red Hook - place with multiple restaurants & bars.

We already planning our next trip to St Thomas and hopefully we can stay at View of Paradise again.
