We chose this property for our 4 night Vancouver stay for a number of reasons - location, value for money (many other properties seemed to have extra costs in the form of cleaning levies). Very happy with our choice! Finding our own way to the hotel from the airport was straight-forward. The airport train station has very helpful, friendly staff (identified by green coats) positioned to help new arrivals buy tickets and advise on any changes to the local metro line needed to reach your Vancouver destination. Burrard Station is just a couple of blocks from Le Soleil Hotel. From this hotels great location we were able to walk to Canada Place, Sky Tower, Gastown, Chinatown, Vancouver Info Centre (buy tickets from there for the shuttle bus leaving just across the street to the wonderful Capilano Suspension Bridge Park). Within the apartment the large king size bed super comfortable, the large marble-tiled bathroom wonderful (separate shower & bath - the bath has a 2nd shower head). The lack of a full kitchen not a problem for us but should be noted for people who might want to cook (especially if staying for longer than our 4 days). Fridge a good size (no freezer section - again not a problem for us but if you want to store ice-cream or the like - not possible). We discovered a very well stocked IGA supermarket a few blocks from the hotel so were able to buy breakfast items - yogurt, fruit, breakfast bars, etc, to make the morning start easy. Plenty of restaurants, coffee shop very close by. Communication with the owners was direct via email after the original booking with HomeAway and was very prompt and organised. After we arrived in Nth America the Irvings contacted us, verified our details, then forwarded details re picking up the hotel lift access card from the reception desk (very friendly, helpful staff at this hotel) & door code to the apartment - all went exactly as organised. When we realised our plane departure time back to Australia was late evening we emailed the owners to ask if either late checkout was possible or extra day-use rental. Their response was wonderful - late checkout at whatever time suited us! So grateful!! (thank you again Paul & Janice if you read this - the 16 hour flight would have been so much more grueling without the rest we were able to get prior to our departure). No problem for us (but for full disclosure) no hair dryer supplied, outdoor deck area spartan (small table, 2 wire chairs), overlooked by skyscrapers.
Two friends and I were in Vancouver to run the SeaWheeze half marathon. Close proximity to the race start and finish was key for us. This unit, located in Le Soleil Hotel was perfect for us. The price was fair and the hotel staff was very friendly, even though we were not "technically" hotel guests. The condo was clean and comfortable. The weather was fantastic so we were able to have the windows open and enjoy the very large penthouse balcony. We appreciated the refridgerator, plates, glasses, and utinsels. We did not use the microwave nor the coffee maker. Much easier to walk across the street to Starbucks. Two of us slept in the king bed and one was on the sleeper sofa. We all slept well and had no complaints - other than the loud bird sounds at night. We thought they were seagulls but found they were "city birds." The chirping was rather amusing and we adjusted in spite of their obvious desire to keep us awake at night. (We don't get many bird sounds in Texas.) All-in-all, it was a great trip, great run, and perfect accommodations. Much thanks to the Irvings for letting us use their condo.
This is a hotel room owned by ten investors that don't take care of the unit. They "pay" someone to clean, but it was filthy. We arrived at 1 pm. and were told that it would be cleaned by 4. It wasn't. They had a guy from the hotel change the sheets and give us 2 towels. We bought Lysol and cleaned the best we could considering we had already paid for 7 days. We did receive the cleaning fee. Thanks
We spent a delightful week in Vancouver comfortably based in this elegant apartment. The location is perfect--near to all the main sites for exploration and great restaurants and cruise ships. The apartment is very tasteful and quiet, located in a lovely boutique hotel. Because it is on the 16th floor, it is bright and sunny and also cosy for the one rainy day we encountered. You won't find a better place to spend a week!
We are back home...renewed and refreshed. Our trip to your WONDERFUL city was perfect...even the weather cooperated. Your penthouse is absolutely in the best location and the perfect size for us. You have furnished it with everything that any traveler might need.
The hotel concierge and desk were very helpful. The parking across the street was perfect! We left the car there for three days. No need to have the car with your location.
We loved Cardero's for dinner! Discovered Bellagio's for breakfast and dined at Joe Fortes and Italian Kitchen. We didn't have one disappointment! We made two trips to Granville Island, walked Chinatown, Yaletown, Gas Town, a ferry ride of the bay, drove to Whistler on the rainy Monday (so impressed with the beauty of the drive), and rented bikes to see Stanley Park. It was absolutely a perfect vacation with an afternoon nap everyday before we went out for dinner. Many thanks.
