Guestbook comments from the owner

We have stayed in Treasure Island several times and this condo was perfect for us. It was furnished nicely and very comfortable. The owners have even provided beach chairs and a variety of toys for kids. The view off the balcony is wonderful of the beach. The only downside of this condo is that we had only two keys. The keypad on the door would have been great if we could have used it. The pool and dock are perfect and being right next to Publix is very convenient. Booking this unit was easy and stess-free. We recommend this vacation condo to anyone looking for a perfect all-around vacation!

No Luxury here!

  • 1 of 5

This was a disapointing rental - Posted as Luxury - not even close to standard. No stars here only XXXXX.

We arrived a little early thankfully and met the ownrer who was doing some repairs in the unit. He was replacing a shower head. He also brought some new pillows. When we entered the unit the first thing I notce were the foors they were dirty, the celing fans were so caked with dirt they looked like there was fur on them, there was a leak in the celing from the unit above over the kitchen counter, and this was fithy from the leak. The owner did call the cleaner back who did remove the "fur' from the fans and did clean the kitchen counter.

The rest of the unit was poor at best- towels were almost thread bear and no beach towels were provided.

The cleaner did provide newer towels a few days later still no brach towels. The kitchen dishes and cutlery were filthy and we had to re wash anything we were going to use. The microwavenever worked while we were there, the coffee maker was extremly dirty and looked like it had not been washed for a very long time.

The patio furniture was poor at best and appeared to never have been cleaned we needed to clean it prior to using. The balcony had a great view but had not been swept or mopped.

The pool in the builting was only cleaned once during our stay, (20 days) and no attenpt to clean around the pool and the birds and the ducks were in the pool every day as there were no deternants for birds to enter.

The elevator in the building - there is only one - and the building is not small takes forever to come, it was a real issue for us as my Mom needs assistance to walk. Most of the vactioners used the stairs,

The location is great every thing else poor.

Here is the definition of luxury : indulgence in and enjoyment of rich, comfortable, and sumptuous living. None of which you will find in this vacation rental.

Owner's Response: I apologize for your inconvenience, but you did arrive early at 11:00 AM and not 4:00 which is normal check in. I should not have given you early access and there would not have been any problems, but you insisted and now I get a this review. All real issues have been resolved, and we strive to provide a great experience for all, and gladly resolve any issues ASAP. I will continue to improve any areas that are needed.

The Palms at Treasure Island

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 2 weeks in this beautiful Condo. Our 2 children loved the pool and the beach was literally across the street. Inside the condo was spacious (2 bedroom) which was more than enough for a family of 4. The balcony overlooked the pool which was very convenient. The Public grocery store is next door and was also very convenient. We liked it so much, we've booked this Condo already again for 2016!

Great location, nice size unit, but some issues

  • 3 of 5

Hi John,

Now that we are settled back home from our trip I wanted to give you some feedback. Over all the condo is very nice and spacious and a great location. The unit was basically clean, bathrooms & kitchen area.

We did have some frustrations though - to start with there was no diswasher soap left as was stated it would be and even though there was dish soap, there were no sponges available to wash with. We did not realize this until after we had gone to the grocery store. The other issue we had was that there were many dishes and utensils that we had to wash because they were put away, but not clean. Quite honestly some of the pans should just be thrown out they are in such bad shape, one was so bad that I almost threw it out myself, but that was not my decision to make. Most of the plastic cooking utensils have been melted and than food was just cooked into them, we did not want to use those at all. I realize this is from people not using common sense when they cook, but they should be replaced. There were no hand towels in either bathroom, so we had to use large towels as hand towels. There are also no bath mats available for when you step out of the shower onto the tile floor, so once again we had to use towels from under the sinks for this purpose & and some of those towels are in such bad shape they should just be thrown out. These are just basic things that I would have expected to be available. We have rented through VRBO before and never had these issues, if I pay a cleaning fee I expect things to be in order when I arrive. The other thing that I was really disturbed by was the condition of the bed pillows, I was extremely happy that I had made the decision to bring my own. One was so disgusting with stains I could not believe it, if I did not have my own pillows I would have gone and bought them. In a rental unit like that there should be pillowcase covers along with the pillow cases so they can both be washed after use and the pillow would be kept clean. I don't know who you have cleaning for you, but if you are not aware of all of these issues than they should be letting you know about them. When we went to use the washer and dryer there was a dryer full of clean towels which I folded, there also was no laundry detergent as had been stated there would be.

I sent John this exact e-mail over 2 weeks ago and got no response what so ever.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry for any inconveniences. If you had called me during your stay I could have addressed it immediately and corrected any problems. Its difficult to do anything after you checked out and then send an email. I have corrected all of your issues and I will keep a better eye on worn out items. Thanks or your comments. John

A great base for a Treasure Island adventure.

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here for about a week while attending a conference in St. Pete's Beach. With a car, we were able to get around very easily. Although I'd recommend a car rental, the area is accessible without. The beach is across the street from the condo, a Walgreens is next door for convenience, and the roads are safe for walking. I remember also seeing a bus system running regularly along the main street.

The condo was clean and uncluttered. Kept up nicely for a fresh vacation feeling. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple breakfasts and snacks. Some fun pool & outdoors supplies in the closets. Great balconies to have a coffee on. Lots of towels!

I'd recommend this spot, especially for its cost.

Beautifully relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this beautiful condo for Memorial Weekend. Everything was exactly as stated and much more. Yes we even saw the dolphins on our first morning.

We had one small maintenance issue which was fixed with one phone call. John, the owner was right on top of things.

The condo is very serene and relaxing right on the water. Everything was within walking distance. If you wanted quiet the condo was the place. If you wanted the bustle and hustle all you need do is walk across the street.

There were plenty of things to do, restaurants and even a grocery store right next door which was very convenient. Saturday night they set off fireworks literally right over our heads. They were beautiful.

Had an amazing weekend. Only complaint is that it ended so quickly. Love it and would look to rent in the future when staying in the area.
