Chateau Aubepine, built in 1621, is a private chateau rental for group holidays located 65km from Lyon. The chateau is a "classe Monument Historique" which is the highest recognition from the French government of its historical significance. The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden (Jardin a la francaise), created by Le Notre (Louis XIVâ€˜s gardener), in the middle of a forest, 3km from the village of Fourneaux, and 7km from the nearest train station at Amplepuis.
The chateau sits within a 3 hectare park, among 100 hectares of private woodland. Facilities on the estate include a kitchen garden and a 11x6m swimming pool. Dinner and lunch are served in the dining room with its original panelling from the XVII century. The television room in the salle des gardes (plasma TV with satellite) is very comfortable, providing an ideal spot to relax with a newspaper or book, enjoy some music, or take pleasure in some quiet time in the late afternoon. Both the charming living room and the salle des gardes are a stylish setting for a relaxing pre or post-dinner beverage. There is also a fully equipped kitchen.
