Chateau de Lys is set in 550 hectares and is one of the most historical and impressive castles in Gascony. The Chateau is available to hire exclusively for holidays, it offers a magical and fairytale setting to relax and unwind.

Chateau de Lys has beautiful historical traditional rooms, extensive grounds and woodlands for guests to enjoy.  Our facilities include a 20m fully enclosed pool with a terrace area equipped with shower and sun loungers.  For the more active we have an all-weather tennis court or why not explore the forest and deer park.  Other facilities include a well-stocked games room with Ping-Pong, baby foot, darts, boule and billiards table as well as UK TV and free Wi-Fi access.

If you just want to unwind why not just relax under one of the many trees and read a book or listen to the peaceful sounds of this natural environment.  For further relaxation, we can arrange for a beauty therapist to come to the Chateau offering a range of treatments.

Within the surrounding area of Chateau de Lys you can find canoes for hire, pony trekking, an ariel assault course for children and adults, archery, shooting and within 10 minute’s drive there is an 18 hole golf course.

The estate vineyards are visible on the horizon and all guests are welcome to sample and purchase our extensive wine range blended by our own Master of Wine with prices starting from 4.30 euros a bottle.

International airports are located at Bordeaux, Bergerac, Toulouse, Pau and Biarritz, all within one and half hour's drive from the Chateau.  TGV services run from Paris and the Mediterranean to Agen, which is about 30 minutes away, and where it is possible to hire a car or get a taxi.

* From 2015 the chateau will accommodate 25 guests in 12 bedrooms, 5 en suite bathrooms plus 3 shower rooms.

The chateau is situated in the Lot-et-Garonne on the borders of Gascony, famous for Armagnac, wine production, duck and, foie.The Chateau is situated approximately 10 minutes from the towns of Nerac and Mezin which both have bustling markets, fine restaurants, boat trips and plenty of other sightseeing opportunities.The Chateau is also only a 20 minutes’ drive from the Cathedral town of Condom and 30 minutes from the elegant city of Agen.International airports are located at Bordeaux, Bergerac, Toulouse, Pau and Biarritz, which are all within one and half-hour’s drive. TGV services run from Paris and the Mediterranean to Agen, which is about 30 minutes away.The chateau produces its own wine under the label of "Baron de Lisse" which is stocked in the Chateau cellar as is charged on consumption for guests.  We can arrange a half day wine tasting course with our own Master of Wines at the Chateau, you will compare grape varieties (3 pairs: two white and one red); then go and look at the vines and chais and come back for another tasting of 6 wines with cheese and bread.  Duration approx. 2 ½ hours including walking up to see the vines. Price is from 400 euros 10 people.The Chateau is ideally located for golfers with a good 18 hole course 15 minutes away. There are a variety of outdoor pursuits within 5 minutes’ drive from the chateau, such as canoeing, tree top walking, horse riding, walking, paintball and water parks.If you prefer to relax, contact Oliver's VIP Concierge Team to book a pamper day with your own beautician at the chateau, who offers facials, massage, manicures or pedicures.Ground Floor- Entrance Hall - oak panelled hallway leading to a large limestone staircase.- Dining Hall - a wonderful room with an ornate wooden ceiling, large stone fireplace, large refectory table also furnished with a suit of armour and carved cabinets- Upper Kitchen - brand new fitted upper kitchen with granite work surfaces and stainless steel splash backs, dishwasher, twin sink, microwave, fridge/freezer, SMEG range oven/hob- Lower Kitchen - with an arched stone ceiling, the kitchen is well equipped including dishwasher, wine chiller, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, oven and hob.Store room – wine cellar, chest freezer and two fridge/freezers Laundry Room – Situated off the terrace with two washing machines and a large tumble drier- Chapel - The ancient chapel of the chateau is the oldest survival on the site (probably 12th century). At a later date, the chapel was extended with a nave in gothic style, and its northern wall formed part of the main defensive wall of the chateau. It is accessed from a hall way leading from the Upper kitchen.- Main lounge/sitting area - Spacious salon with wooden flooring and an abundance of sofas and chairs. The very impressive room features a large stone fireplace. The furniture and furnishings are all in keeping with the historic feel of the room.- Music Room – an elaborate ornate room with gilt finish and a grand piano, period furnishing, large TV (UK Freeview) and oversized beanbags  - Games Room – Dark wood panelled room, with billiard table and baby foot, walls adorned with hunting trophies, swords, flags and shields.- Ladies Powder room with separate WC, wash basin and dressing table-Downstairs WC with wash basin- Wi-Fi First Floor- Grooms Room (Room 1) - This large room features a four poster bed. The room is partially oak panelled with period furnishing, fireplace and a wonderful southerly outlook over the grounds and parklands. En-suite Bathroom with scroll top bath, twin washbasins, large shower and WC- Bedroom (Room 2) – Modern contemporary room, King-size bed, wardrobe and fireplace, window overlooking the Terrace with en-suite bathroom, twin washbasins, large shower and WC.- Four poster bedroom (room 3) – features a king-size four poster bed, fireplace and original ornately painted ceiling. Southerly facing windows overlooking the gardens, lake and woodland.- Bridal Suite (Room 4) – king-size four poster bed, tastefully decorated with a fireplace and sofa.
