This property exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and cups and coffee maker, and we loved the large outdoor table and gas (!) grill. The trash cans outside are well secured, neat, and easy to find, and for anyone who has had to cart their trash to that recycling center will appreciate one less thing to deal with on this vacation! Clean linens were provided, which was nice too. We *especially* loved the screened in porch!! What a luxury up there! On rainy days, we sat out there with coffee and books and stayed dry and mosquito free. The game room for the kids was well-stocked with lots of game options and even a TV with a bunch of DVD choices. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and even called on our first day there to make sure we were all set and see if we had any questions. So kind! Our kids were in heaven. I definitely hope we can return again!
The house is gorgeous, the owners were wonderful. We rented a boat locally and had a great time. It is secluded but that's just what we wanted. You get to experience a small lake community that probably hasn't changed much since the 50's and that's special indeed!
This was our first vacation to lake George and the first time renting a home. We have three small children and really wanted a vacation that was kid friendly and stress free. This home was perfect for both! The owners have really thought of everything you need. We couldn't believe how much stuff they had in the house and the quality of everything. The pots and pans were even nice! The house was so kid friendly, our kids loved sitting in the dock fishing! The owners even called when we got there to make sure everything was ok. It was the best vacation!!!!
This was the perfect house for us -- right on the lake, gorgeous view, plenty of space for our family of seven, rustic but stocked with all of the amenities. Jill and Peter are terrific hosts, pleasant to chat with, on top of everything. We would return in a heartbeat (and just might start planning for next summer).
This lovely home on a quiet bay in Lake George is ideal for spending quiet lazy days on the lake. The owners were very attentive to our needs and have taken care to ensure that the house is equipped with activities for both rainy and sunny days. An adjacent separate cabin provides an ideal escape for older kids to play games or watch TV in their "own space". The house has charming sleeping cubbies and plenty of beds.
A boat and a car are a must as Huletts Landing is quite far from larger towns, though the small store in the town is convenient for picking up essential staples if needed. For this reason, we would recommend this property for families with younger children (5 yrs to 14 yrs) or adults who want a quiet retreat. If you seek proximity to night life with easy access to restaurants and shops, you should look at properties closer to the larger towns.
Our most memorable moment was sitting on the dock after a delicious BBQ on a clear night looking at stars like we have never seen (being from a more urban area) with a chiminea fire crackling in the background.
We have already booked the property for this coming year and see ourselves returning for a few more years in the future.
We stayed here the last week of August. Great for swimming, boating, fishing and just relaxing. Was me, wife and three teenagers. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Looking forward to a return trip. Owners easy to deal with.
