We traveled to Port Aransas on family vacations for 12 years before we decided to build Serenity Shores Beach House. We built the house for our children, grandchildren, family and friends in mind. It has been a perfect place to escape from Michigan's winter weather to enjoy the sun, sand, and great fishing!
We enjoy the community and its amenities. It is 1.5 miles from the beach by car, golf cart, bike, skateboard, rollerblades, or walking with large six foot wide walkways. The fishing is extraordinary!
This is a great place to stay. We loved the kitchen and every room. Actually, we love the house. We realized there was a garage on the last day. Definitely would like to come back and stay here. Thank you for letting us stay at your beach.
Our family of 12, which included seniors and teenagers, had a wonderful time at this home. It was so well appointed and beyond comfortable. Each master (except carriage house) having it's own bath was appreciated by all. The kitchen is WELL stocked with dishes, pots and pans etc. We did lots of cooking and used a wide variety of items. The entire house was beautiful and super clean. Early mornings and evenings were delightful on the deck. One thing I couldn't tell from the photos and descriptions was that the carriage house is on the same level with the rest of the second floor and is not a separate unit. That end of the second floor has outside access, but it is still part of the main house.
We bought car stickers for the beach and drove there (2 minutes) every day with our canopy (absolutely necessary for shade!) and chairs. The beach is wide and firm, good for volleyball, sand castles etc. The waves were fun for boogie boards (not SUPs), and the ocean bottom was perfect sand. No rocks or weeds.
Cheryl, the property manager, was very responsive to any question we had and was super helpful. We couldn't have asked for more. Many kudos to the owners and to Cheryl. They seem to think of everything. Everyone agreed this was the best vacation home we've ever had.
Kitchen, Dining and Family all together in one huge common area. Private suites for 4 couples = perfect for our needs. We had Mom and Dad and three children and three grandchildren (eleven total). Each family grouping had their own space and together we had a really well-equipped cooking, eating and relaxing space. I don't see how we could have done better if we had designed it ourselves. In fact there are a number of nice touches we would never have thought of like the little area with bedroom plus bathroom plus bunk-room plus kitchenette plus TV room. What a great idea!
The beach was a short drive away. Or you can walk - not bad but you really have to like to walk. Realistically the beach is the main attraction but two hours on the beach a day is about all most of us from the interior can take w/o getting fried. That leaves 22 hours a day where you need a place where you can relax in tempered air. Serenity Shores is the answer.
A great number of people like the beach/carnival atmosphere of Port-A, but we found the short drive to Padre Island National Seashore and Corpus Christi to be worth it. Tip - the best seafood restaurants are often found under a bridge. Don't miss it - the Aransas Pass Ferry is a hoot!
Our family had a wonderful time at your vacation home. We had everything we needed, in fact when packing to go on our vacation, I felt like I was forgetting something. The kids enjoyed it very much. We were close to the beach and they enjoyed the pool as well. There was plenty of room for every one. We definitely would recommend this vacation home and we plan on keeping this listing in our vacation file. I have a couple of things to suggest. A bigger ice maker would be great especially with a big group. Also, there is everything you need for grilling except for a brush to clean the grill. Also the welcome gifts were awesome. We have never had anything like this before. Than you for an awesome get away home. We would definitely rent this home again.
We were looking for a place where we could comfortably sleep and lodge 4 kids under the age of 5 and 6 adults. This house was exactly what we needed and were looking for. The kids loved being in the bunk bed room with the media station set up outside the door. There were so many things to keep the kids entertained in this family friendly house when we were taking a break from the heat. All the beds for the adults slept so well. On vacation, I usually don't sleep the best, but I slept great every night due to the comfort of the beds. We were just a short golf cart ride away from the beach so it was easy to make trips back and forth to get things from the house as needed. We were very close to all the shops and restaurants as well and got a lot of use from just hopping in the golf cart wherever we needed to go. You won't work with a better manager or property owner. They will make sure you are set up and happy the whole time you are there. Overall, we would come back and stay here again in a heart beat. There was not a complaint to be made about the property.
We loved this property! The best one we have ever rented over the last 8 years. Loved the beds and individual bathrooms and the kids loved the bunk beds. Kitchen had everything we could ever have needed! House had enough seating for everyone in the den and was just very comfortable!! Definitely would rent again!
Wonderful house for all the family!!!
Port Aransas is a quaint little town set on the historical Mustang Island. The island was the place that vaqueros swam wild mustangs and horses across the channel to the barrier island. Horses do not like to swim unless forced to do so. The island allowed the vaqueros to keep the wild horses captive for training and then subsequent sale to the settlers of the southern coastal Texas area and to those that shipped them over the 'Great Water'. Every October Port Aransas holds a MustangFest where hundreds of Ford Mustang owners worldwide congregate.
