This beautiful cottage is located in Croton, MI, approximately 40 miles north of Grand Rapids. It has been completely remodeled with beautiful craftsmanship. This charming cottage is fully furnished, including bedding and kitchen amenities. It offers a tranquil view from a large deck and boat access to the 1200+ acre all sports lake. The lake provides excellent fishing all year with world famous steelhead fishing in the Muskegon river less than 1 mile away! All local establishments (restaurants, bar, bank, gas station, grocery store) all within close walking distance. Dishwasher, washer, dryer and central air conditioning all included!
Housekeeping: This cottage is cleaned between each family of renters. We ask you to please be respectful of our property and leave it in the same condition you found it in. We also ask you to please wash and dry your linens before departing and leave them folded on the end of your bed.
Robert is a Wonderful host, ready to assist if ever needed.
Cottage is Beautifully appointed & has just about anything you might need, from a fully appointed kitchen to extra pillows & comforters (and even enough fans for picky sleepers, lol). Be aware there is No door to the upper loft room & the ceiling is low over the end of the beds there.
The beds & furnishings are clean, cozy & comfortable. The lighting throughout the cottage is amazing. Wi-Fi & cell service is sketchy, when inquired at the cell store in GR, was informed this area of Croton is known as the 'Bermuda triangle of signal zone'. It's workable, but don't count on it all the time. Preload your MapQuest before heading out of a major town. Absolutely loved the deck with table & grill for entertaining guests. Was nice to be able to sit on the deck & listen to the band on the weekend from across the road. Bar/Grille, Gas station & Grocery store nearby for convenience. We will check for availability again the next time we visit Michigan.
It was awesome for us! We had friends and family on Croton and Hardy ponds...location was ideal. The Driftwood bar n grill across the street was great...could sit on our deck and listen to music on the weekend or walk over and join the festivities :) The cottage itself was beautiful inside and out with all the amenities. The owners were very accomodating and even recommended a few of their favorite restaurants. We will definitely return...maybe in the fall, to see the colors.
Could not ask for any better !
This cottage is beautiful. Beautifully decorated, spotless, roomy, easy to find.
Everything is very well appointed.
Robert was the most hospitable host ( at a distance ) . He has thought of all amenities and conveniences, and made our reservation and all details very easy .
We had 5 in our group for a long overdue gathering of friends.
The beds were very comfortable . The rooms adequately spacious. Bottled water ( for drinking and coffee), coffee, creamer, sugar ,some condiments as ketchup and mustard, and cleaning supplies were at hand.
Furniture was comfortable , great shape, and clean.
Kitchen is a full kitchen, with modern appliances. It was nice to have such a kitchen in which we made big breakfasts and chili in , without being crowded or limited counter space . Complete with plates, glasses, mugs, bowls, utensils , pots and pans .
Full bath, with lots of counter space, and a nice big bathtub and shower combo.
Rooms have fantastic lighting , and ceiling fans. Since we stayed early October, it was a chilly , rainy weekend, and the heat worked great .
Bedrooms had quite a bit of storage with closets, dressers, and night stands.
The deck is very nice - located right off a sunroom with a slider door. On it is a good sized umbrella covered table with approx. 6 chairs. Under the rails are strung with subtle lighting that is pretty as well as adding a safety feature :)
The basement is equipped with a washer and dryer, and just as the rest of the cottage, is very clean.
The location is not unknown to those who stayed here, but for anyone choosing to - there is a grocery store, a restaurant ( or 2 ) and a bar/restaurant all within a short. walking distance. A view of Croton Pond and what is called The Wild Island is across the street. I know that a Croton Pond public beach is very close as well. There are many places to take in scenic views.
Croton /Hardy area is very beautiful and such a cottage in the area is an awesome place to stay.
We were very pleased upon entering the cottage - remarked on how we`d love to move in ;)
We were very pleased for the whole time we stayed - in fact , we never left except walking across the street to the Driftwood Bar to have a drink and revisit a place we had frequented some years ago.
All in all , Robert`s cottage is fully recommended !! Perfect.
Robert is Great to work with.
We stayed with our 4 adult children for the weekend. We all really enjoyed ourselves and time together.
Had dinner at the Driftwood Bar and Grill right across the street very convenient. Also parked our boat at their docks.
We are already starting to talk about scheduling a trip for next year.
A great place to get reconnect to the ones who mean the most.
We're a bit older, and my friend and I went up to spend the week, and brought along our kayaks. We walked into the cottage, and found it clean, neat, and the owner had stocked it with basic essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc...and some non essentials like bottled water, as well. The furnishings were beautiful and classy, and there was ample space for friends and family to come up and visit. The pictures do not lie. This cottage is cute and the location was perfect for relaxation and a quick trip to go tubing or kayaking. The grocery store was only a short walk away too!! We loved it and had a beautiful week, and plan to go back next year for sure!!
Robert was extremely accommodating! The property was an easy drive from Grand Rapids and when we arrived later in the evening, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Clean, attractive, comfortable and hospitable...The bottled waters in the frig were a thoughtful touch! We have no complaints. Our family loved it!
Croton is located approximately 45 miles north of Grand Rapids, MI. The cottage is rural enough to provide a peaceful getaway, yet central enough to be within easy driving distance of several major cities. The lake is surrounded by heavy woods and provides a beautiful view all year round.
