Overview

About the property

Cabin with 3Br/2B plus Cute 1Br/1B Separate Bungalow Sleeps 6 to 9

A picturesque site at the 'Deep Water Chute' on Lake Taneycomo about a mile down from Table Rock Dam. Secluded across from 200 foot bluffs with massive oaks shading covered porches and decks. The primary residence cabin has 3br & 2baths, is fully appointed and provisioned, including Cable/WiFi/Washer-Dryer/Hottub. Adjacent to the main residence, connected by decks is a two room bungalow 'guest house' with separate mini=kitchen and full bath. The bungalow has just been redone from the floods in January 2016. Ample deck furniture including grill and 'porch swings are available. There is ample parking for as many cars as needed as well as a high double carport space for campers or motorhomes. From the deck, there are about ten steps to the large dock with a wide slip which will accommodate guest's 'trailered boat' or a boat rented from Trout Lodge Marina just 200 yards downstream. There is a public access boat-launch just 200 yards upstream from the residence. This quiet and beautiful setting is as good as it gets for a 'Trout Fishing Experience on famous Taneycomo. Of course just up the hill is The College of the Ozarks with their award winning upscale Keeter Center Restaurant. Just down the street across from Trout Lodge, is Gilberti's Italian and at the top of the hill you will find McDonalds, Country Mart Sonic, etc. The residence is about a mile down the hill from College of the Ozarks which is immediately at the Hollister exit. The 'Strip/76' exit is just 4 minutes away and The Landing' only 5 minutes away either by I-65 or the back way through downtown Hollister.

Great Family House

  • 5 of 5

We took our big family of 10 people total. There was plenty of room for everyone. The private dock was great and we were able to park our boat there for our stay.

The house had plenty of clean towels and travel size toiletries available. The kitchen had plenty of cookware, cups, glasses and plates. The house was clean and smelled great.

John was readily available to help or answer questions.

When we return to this area for vacation we will definitely look to stay here again.

Guest house was dirty and both smelled of mildew

  • 2 of 5

The bed in the guest house was filthy. The pillows were covered in hair. The sheets were crusty dirty and the room smelled. The main house was not as bad. There were clean beds. The best part was the outdoor area which is where we stayed the most. Wish we would have known there was no swimming in the lake but at least we had the hot tub.

Relaxed Weekend

  • 4 of 5

This place was so peaceful and relaxing it was hard to leave. Just what you would except in a place by the river or lake. You could fish, set in the hot tub or just chill. Had all the comfort we needed. That large covered patio was great when it rained. We will be coming back!!!

Very cute with an amazing deck for hanging out and making memories

  • 5 of 5

We have a great time. It was perfect for our two families to share. The guys spent most of the time fishing off the dock. This was a comfortable place to spent our vacation.

Spring Break Fishing Trip

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property! We stayed there for a spring break getaway with our high school and college aged daughters. We ended up having a winter storm, but had a great time anyway. The deck is fantastic with lots of furniture, swings, a fire pit, hot tub, and strings of lights. Lots of fun. The cabin was well stocked, lots of extra blankets and comfortable beds. The only thing I missed was a dishwasher in the main cabin, only because I'm lazy. We all want to come back when the weather is warm, and we can live outside for the whole week. I would highly recommend this cabin!
