A picturesque site at the 'Deep Water Chute' on Lake Taneycomo about a mile down from Table Rock Dam. Secluded across from 200 foot bluffs with massive oaks shading covered porches and decks. The primary residence cabin has 3br & 2baths, is fully appointed and provisioned, including Cable/WiFi/Washer-Dryer/Hottub. Adjacent to the main residence, connected by decks is a two room bungalow 'guest house' with separate mini=kitchen and full bath. The bungalow has just been redone from the floods in January 2016. Ample deck furniture including grill and 'porch swings are available. There is ample parking for as many cars as needed as well as a high double carport space for campers or motorhomes. From the deck, there are about ten steps to the large dock with a wide slip which will accommodate guest's 'trailered boat' or a boat rented from Trout Lodge Marina just 200 yards downstream. There is a public access boat-launch just 200 yards upstream from the residence. This quiet and beautiful setting is as good as it gets for a 'Trout Fishing Experience on famous Taneycomo. Of course just up the hill is The College of the Ozarks with their award winning upscale Keeter Center Restaurant. Just down the street across from Trout Lodge, is Gilberti's Italian and at the top of the hill you will find McDonalds, Country Mart Sonic, etc. The residence is about a mile down the hill from College of the Ozarks which is immediately at the Hollister exit. The 'Strip/76' exit is just 4 minutes away and The Landing' only 5 minutes away either by ID65 or the back way through downtown Hollister.
Retired. Bought for unparalleled beauty

Most fished spot on best trout stream in even if your not into trout fishing its one of the most picturesque spots anywhere.
you'll think your in an isolated location on a pristine crystal clear river yet your only 5 minutes to virtually everything.
This place exceeded our expectations after we read reviews. The pictures do not do the location justice--absolutely beautiful. Clean and comfortable, most all needs provided for (we cooked a full thanksgiving feast for 8, then took advantage of the fire pit). A few things to note: there is no number or sign that is visible from the road, so it's hard to find without knowing what the front looks like. The water pressure in the shower in the main house is basically nonexistent, so don't expect to feel very clean after using it. There is no dishwasher, so you will spend a lot of time washing dishes unless you bring disposable. Knowing these things, we'd absolutely stay here again.
We are a family who will capitalize on the assets, and try to ignore the deficits! That said, we had a wonderful time in Branson, wonderful time on the back deck of this home and the boat dock.Adequate fishing space. If that's where your complete emphasis is, you'll be completely happy. If you're going in the fall, be prepared to sweep the leaves and knock down cobwebs before you can even begin to enjoy the area. I spent 3 hours sweeping leaves(that were not removed because the leaves will just keep falling), removing massive cobwebs from ALL outdoor furniture and lights(half of the lights didn't work)sweeping out door entrances that were filthy, wiping down kitchen surfaces(which were dirt covered), and going through house and bungalow brushing spider webs out of corners, removing spiders from shower areas and corners. In the house, we immediately noticed a mildew smell(even with a candle warmer)and lit candles to try to neutralize the odor. It didn't work.Febreeze and it was not quite as pungent. Neat appearance, however everything badly needed a deep cleaning. I used paper towels I had brought to wipe down kitchen surfaces because I couldn't find kitchen towels or dish rags. The cabinets were a filthy disaster of unorganized junk, unclean dishes, worn overused cookware, a stove that needs to be replaced, about 1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid, and dirty crock of utensils. The refrigerator was decent clean, as was the microwave, but the "ick" factor continued for the duration as we discovered grubby, unclean surfaces and nasty kitchen drawers. There is no dishwasher(which explains the filthy dishes)the water pressure is non existent, after you've waited your 5 minutes to get hot water. The furniture is functional but not comfortable, and the beds (thank God) were adequate and clean. The bathrooms need updating, the toilets are good, the half bath containing the unvented mini washer/dryer was 100 degrees and condensation was dripping everywhere when using the dryer. It's a disaster. We had lots of bath towels and washcloths, however the mildewed, funky smell permeated them. My husband and I stayed in the bungalow. I swept a pan of dirt,cobwebs, leaves up before we unpacked, brushed cobwebs out of every door and corner, and swept out the screen door w/no window, also the filthy sliding glass doors, before the(already broken)screen door slammed down. The shower handle broken, shower so small we could NOT turn around. Bathroom floor pitted underneath.
*The back porch area!There is a huge back porch with swings, furniture, small fire pit, hot tub, beautiful view of the lake. The private fishing dock with boat slip was so fun to have. It was great to be able to fish all day without having to leave. My kids enjoyed the hot tub and it was great to have a porch area for them to play on far enough from the water where I didn't have to worry about them falling in.
*lots of parking and far enough from the main road that you felt secluded.
* Comfy beds.
* Simple but adequate furnishings.
*No dishwasher. And a tablespoon of dish soap provided to do dishes. The dishes were not clean, therefore causing us to have to wash every dish with our own soap before cooking or eating.
*The kitchen has cookware but it is in pretty sad shape, lots of stained bowls and serving pieces. Kitchen is not well organized, cabinets are dirty inside, table and cabinet tops were not wiped down.
*There were no dishcloths or towels in the kitchen, had to hunt for them, found them in the junk closet in the back bedroom haphazardly thrown into the closet with many other wadded up linens that were stored dangerously close to a fuse box. FIRE HAZARD.
And the smell....
*There was a sour, mildew-y smell throughout the main cabin. The towels and washcloths all smelled like they had been washed, left for a few days, then dried. Therefore causing us to have to wash before using- more vacation time doing cleaning that should have been done by housekeeping. There were plenty of towels and washcloths provided though.
*Washing machine in main house- fire hazard. The lint is not exhausted to the outdoors, therefore going back into the bathroom/laundry room, fogging it up. And since we had to wash towels that were smelly we had to use it a lot. Very little detergent was provided, and no dryer sheets.
*Lots and lots of cobwebs both inside and out. Back porch was not swept so had to clean up in order to use furniture.
*There was a screen door on the bungalow that was completely detached and nearly fell on my 2-year-old daughter.
*There is not a door separating the 2 parts of the master in the main house.
Overall- Decent. would benefit greatly from deep cleaning, a diswasher, and repairs and updates. Overpriced for quality. Back deck is the best part. If you are going for fishing over cleanliness and organization you'll love it.
Overall, we were pleased. The biggest concern was spiders in the bungalow. My great-nephew was bit twice while sleeping and we killed a HUGE spider. The hot tub was dirty but it was professionally cleaned upon request. The patio was dirty, coffee pot in the bungalow was broken, fridge in the main house was somewhat dirty, water pressure and hot water were both concerns. The dining room table was advertised to seat 12 but only sat 6. That all being said, the view is beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub, the deck and had great laughs dodging the falling giant acorns. The kitchen was adequately supplied, the beds were comfortable, we had plenty of towels and the house was clean minus comments above. The parking was nice to have as we had two boat trailers and 5 vehicles with lots of space left. The dock needs some work and the addition of lighting and a roof would make this property even more desirable to those with nice boats. The location is close to Branson landing and necessities such as the grocery store. It met our needs and we hope return next year.
Generally clean, lots of towels and linens, kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook except food, and I cooked and baked a ton! It's just a lovely location, great dock, deck, and grill.
We had a wonderful time on vacation! We actually spent several evenings enjoying the deck & hot tub. The home was well stocked with supplies, comfortable beds, and an amazing deck with lots of seating. Thank you for sharing your home with our families - we have a whole new set of memories to look back on!
Every thing a vacationer might want except an ocean for the idi** who built the Titanic Replica.
