About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1/2 block from quiet beach

La Casita de Aguada - The deserted unspoiled sandy beaches, palm trees & soft breezes make it a perfect vacation get-away! Come stay in our fully furnished home – ½ block from the ocean with local neighborhood flavor! For 11 continuous years, we have had a great time loving our home in Aguada and having such fun sharing it with you - all of my loyal returnees and those stopping by for the first time.

The fishermen will be happy to sell you part of the day’s catch of fresh fish! After a day at the beach, wander off to one of the neighborhood cantinas or restaurants for a taste of local culture. Need something yummy for breakfast? The local panaderia is only a short walk away. There are local bodegas to find your needed supplies and fresh baked goodies. Rustic and relaxed yet ready to provide all your needs.

La Casita de Aguada is our home away from home, but we can't be there all the time (yet). When we're not there, we would like to extend an invitation for you to enjoy our little slice of heaven!

About Valerie & Ron Harrison

I was born and raised in California. While my husband was stationed in Missouri (US Army), we got a hankering for the West Coast (NorCal). We visited Puerto Rico in 2004 - my sister has a great eco-vacation spot in Vieques (an island off the east coast of Puerto Rico) - and we realized that our vision of 'West Coast' can change. We returned to Puerto Rico the following month and were so fortunate to find La Casita de Aguada.

Valerie & Ron Harrison purchased this house in 2005

Why Valerie & Ron Harrison chose Aguada

We were looking for the great beaches of Puerto Rico and a comfortable home in an authentic Puerto Rican neighborhood. We enjoy meeting the locals, not hanging with the tourists. We discovered this beautiful property 1/2 block from the beach. Perfect!

What makes this house unique

The beach, the rural feeling, the friendliness of the neighborhood make us return again and again. We love having the beach to ourselves. We enjoy local restaurants within a short drive or walk, getting home-made pastries and sandwiches at the panaderia and having a drink at the bodega, a block away. La Casita de Aguada has air conditioning, cable TV and access to a washer and dryer. It is a perfect spot to relax or to explore the local area ... Aguada, Rincon, Aguadilla, Moca.

La Casita de Aguada is an Excellent Vacationing Spot!!!

  • 5 of 5

Incredibly warm, caring and attentive managers, Jesus and Maria.

Quiet beach within walking distance.

The house is very nice, comfortable and clean. Large backyard with a hammock... yes a hammock, where you can just lay under a mango tree and read your favorite book. Yes!!!!! an old-fashion book.

The house is equipped with wifi and cable tv. But hey, why to get stuck in the house when there is so much beauty out in town????

Excellent place for those who love nature, people, culture and relaxation. Aguada is a very nice town filled with kind locals, great beaches, nice eateries, historical sites, airports, colleges and most importantly the old sugar mill. Spending a few hours at sunset watching the old sugar mill succumbing to the glorious night is a very magical site. Stopping by a small food kiosk, within walking distance "Breeze," and grabbing a fresh fish skewer accompanied by a freshly made "tembleque," was simply exceptional. Stepping out of town towards Aguadilla and grabbing fresh-made frappe at La Guarapera food truck made special every hot day out. While you're down on the island's west coast, enjoy Boquerón Beach in Cabo Rojo, The historical city of Lares, the Stone House of Maricao, LaRuina, Las cascadas aquatic park, ice skating rink in Aguadilla, Museo de Ponce where full displays of realists Francisco Oller and Jose Campeche live; El faro in Rincón, el Charco de la Leche waterfall in Moca, Porta Coeli church in San Germán, Cavernas in Camuy, Arecibo's NASA's Observatory etc...

La Casita de Aguada is not for those guests who seek fakes mar-a-lago resorts but for those who want to experience the mar and the lago in their natural glories....

Although my experience was superb I believe the following points would make any guest even happier:

1. fixing the air conditioning in the master bedroom. The temperature was always over 78 degree, very warm: made difficult to fall asleep. I never complained to Jesus about it until I was on my way out to the airport. He would have had it fixed right away.

2. covering the rooftop clear tiles. This brings in too much light in the morning. They must be covered with sliding shades

3. darker shades and screens in the master bedroom. The see-through curtains made out of "mundillo-like," needle-stitching fabrics allows too much light in in the morning. The master bedroom lacks privacy because of these curtains...

Birthday vacation at La Casita in Aguada Puerto Rico

  • 4 of 5

We were blessed to stay at the cutest house called La Casita in Aguada Puerto Rico. My husband myself and our two roommates had a fantastic time there. The location was perfect. Very easy to get to with beach just down the block. The Casita was immaculate upon our arrival and the caretaker Jose who lives right across the street was very friendly and available immediately for any questions we might have. The house was in a perfect community. Which made us feel safe and at home. Unlike the touristy crowded area of Rincon which is very close by . We had everything we needed as far as linens towels, even beach towels a bbq beach chairs umbella and a laundry room and outdoor shower ,a well stocked kitchen with a large refrigerator microwave and coffee maker. We even had a water dispenser to make fresh coffee which was provided. The only thing we didn't have was an oven in the kitchen and a fence to keep the neighbors very large dogs from our side of the property and depositing their poop on our side of the grass. I told the lady who owned them and she cleaned it . But the dogs were a nuisance while we were trying to relax or eat on the beautiful marquesina. All in all it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it. We had two beautifully painted and cozy bedrooms with ac in each. We had 2 very good nights of sleep. We got to see a momma duck and her ducklings on the street horses and little goats. Loved that. Very peaceful neighborhood. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jose for being such a gracious host to us.

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at La Casita for a month and my husband and a friend came down for two weeks. Jesus and Maria, the house managers, were so attentive that we never wanted for anything. The house was comfortable, the bed was great and there is a washer/dryer right next to the house. The house was air conditioned but I didn't use it very often. We spent most of our time outside with the grill, table and chairs. We will definitely be rebooking this house again.

Amazing House, Amazing Location, Amazing Neighbors

  • 5 of 5

We cannot say enough good things about our stay here in Aguada. The house was beautiful and fun, clean, comfortable and complete. There was nothing missing, but the caretakers went above and beyond to make sure we had every detail we could imagine. The back bedrooms stayed nice and cool with the AC, but the breezy, covered outdoor space with the grill, table, and chairs was where we spent all of our time.

The neighborhood is a colorful, lived-in local area and we truly loved being in the middle of Puerto Rican life. The neighbors were friendly but in no way intrusive. It was just a very fun experience overall to be there with all the locals. Jesus and Maria truly made us comfortable and at home, checked in on us frequently and provided us much more than we could have ever asked for.

The beach (a five minute walk away) was truly gorgeous, a fun area to play in the surf, and even had turtle nesting sites! We went there in the evenings and to our joy watched the sunset as the local youths went out surfing. I wish we would have spent more time at our beach, but there was so much to see in the immediate vicinity between Aguadilla and Rincon that we would be so happy to come back here year after year. I don't think we would ever get bored.

All in all, there was not one problem with this property, but what really made it amazing was the customer service, local flavor, and beautiful location. If you are debating at all, don't! Book now!

  • 5 of 5

I was very impress with Jesus the manager , when we got to the house he was very friendly, the house was spot clean, the beds were very good, and a lot of pillows, there was everything in the house, even i don't drink , Jesus had couple of beer for welcoming us the house, the house has chairs for the beach with the umbrella and a cooler, that save us some money, we did not have to buy thinning, spoons, plates ,cups ,towels, and very good air conditioning.

Jesus the manager is a beautiful person, he care for us like family. If I return to pr I will stay in this propery,
