Our Cowboy Cabin (330 sq. ft) is decorated in a cozy western theme that is sure to delight. It is small, but cute, and a great place to hang your hat and spurs after a fun day exploring and playing!
It has a large front porch to relax on long summer evenings. It is located among the tall Ponderosa pines of Tamarack RV Park. Our RV Park offers a variety of amenities such as coin laundry, ice sales, BBQ patio, and propane firepits (for rent at $9.99/night with propane included).
Please...No smoking in the cabin. No pets.
Tamarack RV is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants, antique malls, banks, and shopping. This is a great base camp, from which to explore all the exciting area attractions.
Hi! We are a family of 6 from SE Washington. We run a couple of campgrounds/RV parks: Tamarack RV Park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Beach RV Park in Benton City, Washington. We love traveling, camping, and sailing.
Dondi purchased this cabin in 1985
We enjoy participating in all the summer and wintertime activities available from The Cowboy Bunkhouse. The IronMan Triathalon, silver mines and snow ski resort of Kellogg, ID, boating and swimming on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and vintage thrift shopping are just a few! The Cowboy Bunkhouse is perfect to come back to and relax!
The Cowboy Cabin was adorable! From the charming decor to the thoughtful amenities, it was the perfect place to stay during our mini vacation to CDA. Thanks so much!
WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT THE COWBOY BUNKHOUSE. THERE WAS A COUPLE THINGS AT THE FIRST BUT ONCE WE TOLD DONDI SHE WAS RIGHT THERE AND TOOK CARE OF THEM. SHE MADE OUR TRIP A COMPLETE SUCCESS. SHE WAS WONDERFUL.
The description for this property is a bit confusing and misleading. Although it does state that it is located in an RV Park, it's also described as a cabin/cowboy bunkhouse/condo, which it isn't. It's just a small RV. The theme was cute, but I didn't realize how small it would be and that the bathroom would be what you would expect in an RV, not a cabin. Other than the carpet in the bedroom being badly stained, the unit was clean, so that's a plus. Also, the bed in the bedroom was quite comfortable. I didn't like that the TV was located in the bedroom, and there were some noisy neighbors next door that woke me up one night, but the rest of the time it was quiet.
Upon arrival, there was no one at the office to give me the keys, so I had to go to another unit and get the phone number for the manager of the RV Park. The manager did come over and provide the keys, but my reservation was not in the system! I booked this online and was provided with a confirmation, but it was not entered into the computer! Very unprofessional! The manager explained that they just switched managers, and the outgoing manager didn't provide the new manager with the reservation information. Fortunately, the new manager, who was very helpful and did a good job, honored my reservation when I provided him with my written confirmation. This could have been a big deal if the unit had been rented to someone else before I arrived, as all of the hotels in the area were booked for the dates I needed! Also, when I booked this reservation online, I was required to wait 24 hours for "approval". Why be required to wait so long when the dates are available and my credit card had been accepted?! This may not matter if a person is able to book months in advance, but unfortunately, because of my recent circumstances, I needed to book something right away, and could have lost other rental opportunities while waiting for the approval.
Overall, my stay there went well, and I did like that it was conveniently located, but I would only recommend this place to people who are okay with staying in an RV Park in an RV. It's not for everyone, so I think the description of the unit should do a better job of informing people that this is an actual RV, which has been modified to look like a cabin.
The Cowboy Bunkhouse is 12 miles from Silverwood Amusement Park, and one block from Costco and Safeway and Home Depot. Plus, there are many vintage thrift stores and delicious cafes and restaurants close by to enjoy when you are not traveling!

This online reservation software system has a glitch, in that it says it charges for extra adults, but says nothing about extra children. We consider children to be as human as adults, and provide extra linens and bedding for them as well. When making your reservation, please count each child as an "adult"...that will give you the correct price for your stay. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
