We loved how comfortable the home was. It was in a great location with restful river activity! The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the beach towels!!
Nothing is lacking in this beautiful home. We loved sitting on the decks and enjoying the river; it's so peaceful. Our granddaughters delighted in the toys on the second floor and made that family room into a wonderland all their own. Our adult children relaxed in the evening building 1000 piece puzzles. We were at the pool for an hour or two everyday. The pool is conveniently located just a few houses away so if the kids wanted something we just walked back to the house. This year we enjoyed the community park too. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation is supplied. We grilled, cooked in the kitchen, played ping pong in the garage, and loved having a washer and dryer available for laundry needs.
We explored breweries, vineyards, U-Pick fruit, and Fernwood Botanical Gardens in Niles. The kids loved the beach, the painted bugs downtown, the carousal, and the children's museum. Everyone loves Silver Beach Pizza. River's Edge Bar & Grill in Benton Harbor had great food and live music. There are so many things to do and places to visit in the area.
Our 3 generation family was never bored. The house was not crowded with 6 adults and 3 children. There are plenty of books, games, and movies to meet every interest. I wish my home was as well supplied as this house. Thank you Chris for another wonderful week.
This home had everything our 3 generations family needed. Our young granddaughters loved the toy, game, and movie selection. They spent lots of quiet time playing in the second floor family room with the many dollhouses, dolls and furniture. The river view is lovely; we loved having decks on both floors. Our first night we enjoyed listening to the live music from the Marina across the river. The children loved seeing the ducks and the boats. The house is so roomy. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children. Fully loaded does not even begin to describe all that is included. We were able to find everything we needed to prepare meals, head to the beach, or relax and enjoy family time. No detail was missed by Chris in making sure you have everything you need for a fantastic stay. The kitchen appliances are top notch and so is the grill. It is a short drive to downtown St. Joesph, area wineries, and family friendly locations like Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor. If you travel with kids include a visit to Sarett as well as the Carousel, and the children's museums. Having the pool was great because many days the beach was under a red flag warning for riptides so no one could go in the water. We are already planning our stay for next year.
This house was the perfect situation for our family. We had 5 adults and 3 children. Just enough room for everyone to be together but have some space as well. While it is not on the beach the riverside is great. Super easy to get to the beach and downtown. Beach parking pass provided. House was in great condition. Would stay here again if we are in the area!
St. Joseph, MI is located in the Southwest corner of the state. The town is situated on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and bordered to the North by the St. Joseph River. The entire western coast of Michigan sustains some of the best beaches in the country. Being free of salt water and constant tidal pulls may qualify them as THE best beaches in the country. In this area you will find striking dunes at Grand Mere and Warren Dunes, endless shopping at the Lighthouse Place outlet mall in Michigan City, Cherry and apple picking during the late summer and fall, Casino gambling at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo with one of the five largest gambling floors in the country (including Vegas) and the best gem of all, St Joe. The town boasts train service to Chicago, top notch ice cream and fudge shops (See Kilwins or South Bend Chocolate Co), Silver Beach and Silver Beach Amusement Park Museum, Rocky Gap, Jean Klock and Tiscornia beaches. So much to do, you'll need to come back again!
