About Jan & Sheila Rosenberg

We have been coming to Lake Anna since the mid eighties. We lived in Maryland, and bought our first vacation house at the lake in 1988. We built our current home in 1996. When I retired at the end of 2013, we moved here full time. We live next door to Cougar Point.

Jan & Sheila Rosenberg purchased this house in 2016

Why Jan & Sheila Rosenberg chose Virginia

I have been taking care of this property for Dan Cougar, the previous owner, since 2014, and when Dan decided to sell, it was a good fit for us.

What makes this house unique

There is a nice size deck for enjoying dinner and conversation outside, with a great view of the Lake. The way the property is situated makes for a very private setting. You are not in a crowded cove where you feel like you are on top of the neighbors.

What a beautiful property!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very comfortable for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked. The property is beautiful- so much space to spread out. We loved the large open lawn. New dock is great and the huge deck was perfect for hanging out and enjoying the beautiful view. Jan was very responsive and accommodating with arrival and departure times. Wonderful stay!

Amazing location and fabulous family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Cougar Point was a fantastic and fun-filled spring break. The family enjoyed fishing from the property, swimming and kayaking on the lake, and playing lots of volleyball. The water access and backyard set up was perfect for our active families and guests. We all enjoyed everything, and the kids loved the game room also. The owners were fantastic and accommodating in case we needed anything. We will be returning again for sure.

Early Spring Fishing Club Trip

  • 5 of 5

Our fishing club took advantage of the spacious house and loved all of the accommodations. This our 3rd straight year at Cougar Point we love the location on the private side of Lake Anna for warm water fishing in the colder months. The new dock accommodated our boats and the electric hookup was great for charging the batteries dockside. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and utensils and we loved the grill outdoors for a shore lunch! We love the house and the space we need for 12 anglers, and will continue to reserve the house when we're in the Lake Anna area...

Beautiful waterfront property like none other!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as you arrive at Cougar Point you are greeted with an amazing view of the water. The bedrooms were all decorated beautifully with attention to detail. We celebrated our Grandma's 80th Birthday and she couldn't have been happier. All the children, and grandchildren enjoyed the volleyball court, game room, swimming, fishing, and firepit. We also took some beautiful lakeside family pictures. Lovely home with a gorgeous view! We only hope we can come back next year to make more memories!

Great Property Nice Owner

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we really enjoyed this property. I have been going to Lake Anna with family and/or friends for the past 8 years. This is one of the better properties we stayed at. Mostly because of the outdoor space. There is TONS of room. We really enjoyed the new beach volleyball court and firepit area. Also, the game room was a lot of fun. Great place for kids or rowdy adults to let loose. The rooms were nice although some people complained that the two downstairs bunk rooms got a little hot. We did not have that problem upstairs or in the downstairs master. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were big and the kitchen was nice as well. Bring your own ice because the ice machine in the fridge couldn't keep up with our needs. But there is a second refrigerator in the gameroom.

The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the boat dock and ramp. The ramp looked like it was at one time entirely asphalt and then covered with rocks. There were some big holes that made it a little difficult to get out so be sure you are in 4wd. The boat dock was ok but there were a few popped nails and the outer edgers were quite wobbly. Also, for the swimmers the ladder on the dock looked like it was a diy job. I would recommend that the owner install a metal one like on the volleyball court.

Also, owner was great to work with. He was very informative and gave us tons of nice tips for a great weekend. He was also very responsive. We will likely try and rent this house next year.

We are located in the first cooling lagoon on the warm side of the lake, the water stays warm enough that you can still enjoy the water activities in the fall while the places on the cold side of Lake Anna have long said goodbye to summer activities. Have an evening of wine tasting at Lake Anna Winery or place everyone in the car for a short drive to Paramounts Kings Dominion Amusement Park or drive to visit some historical sites such as Monitcello or venture off to Charlottesville for all its charm. Other nearby attractions is golfing, hiking at Lake Anna State Park. Boat rentals, jet ski rentals, and marina services are all available nearby and will deliver right to your own boat launch which is located on the property. For shoppers, Fredericksburg's and Richmond's shopping malls are just 35 - 45 minutes away. Antiquing is everywhere along the county roads all around Lake Anna area

Other Activities: Volleyball, horseshoes, fire pit, sandy beach
