Hawthorn features comfortable furnishings and facilities to help you enjoy your stay in the National Park. Accommodation comprises double bedroom with en suite, double bedroom, twin bedroom, family bathroom, sitting room with TV, Free Sat, DVD, WiFi, & open fire. There is a modern kitchen diner with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. We have oil central heating to ensure you have a comfortable stay. In addition there is a conservatory and large garden.

Hawthorn is located off a quiet road and set within an enclosed garden which is safe for children to enjoy. There is parking for two cars within the drive. There are three steps at the front & one at the back door. Guests are welcome to use our log fire but are requested to bring their own logs & kindling. Towels, bed linen and a hair dryer are provided and for those 'so inclined' we have an iron & ironing board. There is an outside hose for cleaning mountain bikes, or for cooling off, after a hard days ride.

This is our family cottage so we aim to share our own standards for your comfort and enjoyment - we don't allow smoking or pets to ensure these standards are maintained. Short stay (outwith peak periods) by arrangement - minimum stay three or 5 nights.

Nethybridge is a quiet village surrounded by the ancient Caledonian pine forest within the Cairngorms National Park. This is an ideal place to experience a vast range of activities in a fantastic setting - you can ski, board, sledge, walk, cycle, climb, fish, canoe, sail and more all within the locale. If you want to explore the local forest or venture onto the high tops of the Cairngorms there is a great networks of paths and trails. You can also visit the reindeer herd at Glenmore or take the funicular railway up Cairngorm. There are water sports centres at Loch Morlich & Insch and a number of guided adventure activities available locally. There are several cafes & restaurants with shops, cinema and swimming pools nearby. You can experience the Speyside 'whisky trail' or visit some of Scotland's most iconic castles and heritage sites. If you love nature we have red squirrels & ospreys and you may also encounter some of our rarer Scottish wildlife such as pine martin, capercailie & crossbills.

Nethybridge is easy to get to by road. There is a good rural bus service and excellent mainline train services at nearby Aviemore & Carrbridge with frequent services to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Pitlochry & Perth. Inverness airport is approximately 45 minutes drive. There are numerous walking and cycling trails to cater for all tastes and levels of adventure.

We had a lovely stay at your home it was very well equipped and cosy.

The property was lovely from the outset, where it was in Nethybridge and how well it was layed out and what a great finish all the fittings and furniture was. My youngest daughter loved the reindeer room (this is what she called it as she is mad on reindeer) and wants to know where you got the curtains and cushions from and my older daughter who is 15 wants her room like your double room (the one that is next to the bathroom) thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful property.

Many thanks

What can I say. The bungalow blew our expectation out of the water. Everything is so well thought of. My girls 5 & 8 loved it. So did we. Peaceful, clean and safe. A great base to explore. A real gem. We didnt want to leave. Karen was so helpful with our trip & the girls thank you as they got their horse ride amoungst many other things. We will be returning for a longer trip

Lovely little bungalow in beautiful village

  • 4 of 5

Lovely clean property in a beautiful part of Scotland. Would be useful to have a tumble dryer to dry clothes as with typical Scottish weather you can't depend on an outside washing line!!

Thank you for a lovely stay and summer holidays

Lovely Property

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is very clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything one could need. The location was perfect for visiting whisky country, the coast, and Loch Ness. The one negative is that there is no way to control the temperature, and it was very cold most of the time, about 16 in the mornings, and never above 21.

Owner's Response: Hi Lois, thanks for your review. I must apologise for the heating set up, we are fairly new to letting our cottage and still sorting out the best way to manage the heating system for our guests. Most of our guests however find the temperature of 21 quite comfortable. We always advise that we can alter any of the heating settings or times remotely to suit individual requirements. We also usually leave logs and kindling for our log fire which guests are welcome to use. Kind regards, Karen

Very smart, comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely 'skandi' style interior, with comfortable beds and great space for a family of five. The garden being fenced and gated was excellent for the children and the location was brilliant for cycles in the forest and trips to the snow!
